Under Pressure From Blogs, MSNBC Kinda-Sorta Corrects An Error

A "misunderstanding," you see. I suppose that's the best that could be hoped for.

The correction involves Aaron Broussard's falsely ginned-up account of his phone calls to his friend's stricken mother in New Orleans. Broussard read his "spontaneous emotional outpouring" from a script, so, as John From Wuzzadem cracks, if it was a "misunderstanding," it was one of those carefully-prepared and fact-checked sorts of "misunderstandings" that the media makes.

Multiple Errors: Called him "Andre" and said Russert, rather than Broussard, read from a script. Thanks to John from Wuzzadem for correcting me.

A "misunderstanding"?

Like the time I ran over that Chinaman with my car, and dragged him underneath for seventeen miles while I did my shopping, dry cleaning, and stopped at Checker's for a burger? Is this like that kind of "misunderstanding"?

Or am I missing something here?

Cheers,
Dave at Garfield Ridge

Actually, if you watch the video, Broussard was reading from prepared notes, so at the very least he took the time to write down the details regarding this particular "misunderstanding."

"This was no boating accident."

There's no way this was a misunderstanding. I fully believe that this was an attempt by Broussard to make the Feds look bad and directly blame them for a death. There is no question in my mind about that.

MSNBC Hyperlink to story: "Story of calls from nursing home not true"

Slugline: "An emotional moment and a misunderstanding"

They got it 50% right. If they change the slug, it'll be 100%.

Misunderstanding? Yeah, somebody warned Broussard "you know, they might figure out she died on Monday instead of Friday"

and he misunderstood.

How dare you attack this man? He was emotional! He was CRYING!

Criers are allowed to tell lies. Just ask Cindy Sheehan.

There was a commenter on Balloon Juice who mentioned this on the day the Times article came out. I knew it was a crock because the crying guy was a LA dem and being investigated by the feds. It smelled like "agenda" to me.

Once I had a misunderstanding with a girl who was dating a guy I had dated. He was a charmer, but a SNAKE. So I left a message on his answering machine when I knew she and he were in the apartment and would hear it, about some of the things he had done with his mean self.

It was a complete misunderstanding.

RWS,

Do I detect the wafe of a plot line from "Three's Company"?

Posted by: Enas Yorl on September 19, 2005 09:15 PM

Just goes to show that the media shows far too much deference to emotional people.

Who cares if they're telling the truth? They make for great television.

Ode to Aaron Broussard

Oh, Aaron Broussard
Crying like a little girl
Covering your lies

Now shut the fuck up
You miserable bastard
And quit your whining

Admit that you lied
Your story was total bull
For the media

You fucking asshole
Lying about your friend's mom
How low can you get?

Wait, don't answer that
I don't really want to know
You little sissy

Did anyone actually see any tears? His lame attempted emotional breakdown was on par with that of Susan Smith who drowned her own kids and then blamed it on a carjacker. And the Ramseys, who never seemed to shed any "real" tears over their little girls death.

What is the UK Regime's plan for protecting the citizens from the savage criminals they've foisted on the populace? They offer NONE. They do, however, have a plan for protecting the savage criminals from the citizens: The citizens must STAY CALM and not get angry and not share videos of citizens being attacked by savage criminals.
The public keeps saying "protect us from the foreign savages you have imported against our wishes and over our objections" and the UK branch of The Regime keeps proposing plans to protect the foreign savages from the public. Soclose to what the public is demanding, just, you know, the complete opposite.
Just a thought: Maybe you wouldn't have to worry about the public attacking the savage criminals if you actually introduced a plan to protect the public from the savage criminals. Maybe they wouldn't feel as if it was necessary for them to protect the public through self-help.
