157 Iraqis Dead In Massive Coordinated Attack

Don't sweat it, though, they were terrorist cockroaches, exterminated by a force consisting largely of Iraqi soldiers:

A force of about 5,000 Iraqis and 3,800 Americans killed at least 157 terrorists, detained 440 suspects, and discovered 34 weapons caches, all while suffering minimal casualties. "The terrorists are losing their morale. They couldn't resist as they did in Fallujah," Iraqi President Jalal Talabani told us in an interview last week in New York, where he was attending the United Nations General Assembly.

The Tal Afar operation calls into question the contention of war critics like Senator Joe Biden that there are only a handful of Iraqi troops capable of meaningful operations. In fact, U.S. commanders classify about 40 battalions--roughly 750 soldiers in each--as "fully independent" or able to fight "in the lead."

George Galloway immediately decried the Tal Afar action, accusing Iraqis of "illegally occupying their own country" without permission from French Prime Minister/SPECTRE operative Dominique De Villepain, aka "Le Douche Royale."

"These villains, and in particular the villain Bush, said they had struck Iraq with 40 cruise missiles to assassinate President Saddam Hussein. Not only are they disappointed, I think they are hysterical."

"Maybe they will enter Umm Qasr and Basra, but how will they enter Baghdad? It will be a big oven for them. They can penetrate our borders but they cannot reach Baghdad. They will try to pull our army and troops out but we are well aware of their plans and they will fail."

"In Umm Qasr, the fighting is fierce and we have inflicted many damages. The stupid enemy, the Americans and British, failed completely. They're not making any penetration."

"They are not any place. They are on the move everywhere. They are a snake moving in the desert. They hold no place in Iraq. This is an illusion."

"We butchered the force present at the airport. We have retaken the airport! There are no Americans there!"

"Nobody came here. Those America losers, I think their repeated frequent lies are bringing them down very rapidly.... Baghdad is secure, is safe."

"They are not near Baghdad. Don't believe them.... They said they entered with... tanks in the middle of the capital. They claim that they - I tell you, I... that this speech is too far from the reality. It is a part of this sickness of their plan. There is no an... - no any existence to the American troops or for the troops in Baghdad at all."

"Whenever we attack, they retreat. When we pound them with missiles and heavy artillery, they retreat even deeper. But when we stopped pounding, they pushed to the airport for propaganda purposes."

"The Americans are not there. They're not in Baghdad. There are no troops there. Never. They're not at all."

"U.S. forces learned a lesson last night they will never forget. We slaughtered them and will continue to slaughter them."

"We blocked them inside the city. Their rear is blocked.... They pushed a few of their armored carriers and some tanks with their soldiers. We besieged them and I think we will finish them soon."

"We have killed most of the infidels, and I think we will finish off the rest soon."

LIVE AT NYTIMES HQ:

How about "Today marks the second-deadliest day in Iraq"... wait, scratch that, "the second-greatest loss of life in Iraq since 2003", no, with the bridge thing "The third greatest loss of"--but wait, these are terrori-um, insurgents so does it even count?

Am I the only one who's a little bit disappointed that close to 9000 good guys only killed 157 of these assholes?

Posted by: Sean M. on September 18, 2005 05:10 AM

Ace,

You should really change your headline on this post.

Although 157 people were killed in this battle- there is little evidence that these terrorists are Iraqis. Many of them are likely Syrian, Egyptian and Saudi Arabian "jihadists."

"This is just a temporary setback to the glorious freedom fighters in Iraq".
New York Times' "wish" headline.
To Quote Swayze in Roadhouse- "Hurts, don't it?"

Stay tuned, we still got a few more plays left on this quarter.

If Kerry were in the WH, you guys would be pointing out that by the military's estimates, there are more insurgents now than 2 years ago. Pro-Iranian SCIRI party is in control in much of the south, and the best US hope against a civil war is an Iranian cleric (Sistani) urging Shi'ites not to strike back. Iran is delighted with the outcome so far, and just might build a statue to Bush/Kerry (okay I made up the second part, but someone else would say it if Kerry were in the WH). You'd be saying that the democrats are losing the war. You'd be pointing to the Abu Gharaib photos as evidence of the loose morals of liberals etc...

Ah well. But Bush is in the WH, so it's all GOING GREAT!

Tubino:

I afraid I regard this as spewage, rather than any reasoned analysis. This is the last comment of yours that I will acknowledge.

Posted by: geoff on September 18, 2005 03:31 PM

You'd be saying that the democrats are losing the war.

Actually its the media. Democrats pols can win wars, its their treasonous pals in the media who fuck it all up.

Dem rules of engagment tend to be wussier than republican ones though.

BTW, the roadhouse quote "I'll bet that hurts, don't it?" wasn't said by Swayze, it was said by Sam Elliot.

What is the UK Regime's plan for protecting the citizens from the savage criminals they've foisted on the populace? They offer NONE. They do, however, have a plan for protecting the savage criminals from the citizens: The citizens must STAY CALM and not get angry and not share videos of citizens being attacked by savage criminals.
The public keeps saying "protect us from the foreign savages you have imported against our wishes and over our objections" and the UK branch of The Regime keeps proposing plans to protect the foreign savages from the public. Soclose to what the public is demanding, just, you know, the complete opposite.
Just a thought: Maybe you wouldn't have to worry about the public attacking the savage criminals if you actually introduced a plan to protect the public from the savage criminals. Maybe they wouldn't feel as if it was necessary for them to protect the public through self-help.
