Blair's "Brutal Honesty" on Kytoto: "No Country Is Going To Cut Its Growth"

British conservatives hate this guy. Stutaford over at The Corner is always ripping him.

And I'm sure he's Clintonian in his mendacity on domestic issues and it drives the Tories crazy that people just can't see through him.

But...

He doesn't have any power over American health care or schools. And damnit, on the stuff that does affect us, he's terrific.

wow. ripping Kyoto with some brutal honesty, right there with Bill on stage.

Yeah, Clinton the president who was smart enough to not want to be humiliated by sending the wretched thing to the Senate for ratification - but slimy enough that he signed it anyway, knowing it could never get ratified - and thinking that it would be Al Gore's problem (which is, I guess, why I still kind of like Slick Willy in spite of myself - "here Al - you want to be Enviro-Boy, you deal with the mess").

"Kytoto"?

(starting to giggle) "Kytoto"???

(pounding desk) "KYTOTO"!?!?!?

(falling from chair, screaming) "KYTOTO"!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Blair's a mendacious, glad-handing, all-things-to-all-men turd, but at least he's better than his heir apparent: the dour, tax-and-spend, socialist tosspot Gordon Brown.

HOLY STEPFORD WIVES BATMAN! KARL ROVE HAS REPLACED TONY BLAIR WITH A REPLICANT!

Posted by: Eric on September 16, 2005 05:19 PM

Blair is all the bad things you've ever heard about him, and less. But this is big news. Not because the treaty is his to deep six, but because of the enormity of the turnabout. Kyoto has been the central plank of Blairism for the past few years. Remember when he came to the US and everybody said he was calling in the Iraq favor by asking Bush to agree to some Kyoto-like measures?

And then this: essentially Bush's position, right down the line. And on the stage at Clinton's left ecofest!

This is very strange.

PERHAPS, AS OBSERVERS OF OUR EPHEMERAL SEGMENT OF THE HISTORY OF CIVILIZATION- - OUR YOUTH WILL BEHOLD A BRONZE PARK STATUE, STANDING ALOOF, ALONE IN A DARK CORNER.

THEY WILL GAZE AT THE SAD MONUMENT TO THE KYOTOTANS-- THOSE WHO EXCHANGED THEIR INTELLECTUAL RESPECT AND HONOR FOR OFFICIOUS AND ANTIMATED FEAR OF A TINY UPWARD BLIP ON A CLIMATE GRAPH AND WERE THEN FORCED TO WATCH IN MUTE HORROR AS THE BLIP CURVED AND WENT DOWN AGAIN; REVEALING ITS SCRIBE AS NATURAL VARIATION, REQUIRING NO AID FROM ANTHROPOGENIC GASES.

Posted by: RAY HARBIN on September 17, 2005 11:58 AM

Ray, thats actually very clever, but it would have more impact in mixed case. All upper case lends an air of insanity to your message. Just sayin'.

Yesterday I read a news piece somewhere (don't ask, I don't remember where) that said the Ozone hole is expected to decline on its own over the next few years.

Naturally, I found this quite disturbing and completely vented my house and car's CFC laden A/C systems in protest.

LMAO, Tony!

Whew, that was good.

What is the UK Regime's plan for protecting the citizens from the savage criminals they've foisted on the populace? They offer NONE. They do, however, have a plan for protecting the savage criminals from the citizens: The citizens must STAY CALM and not get angry and not share videos of citizens being attacked by savage criminals.
The public keeps saying "protect us from the foreign savages you have imported against our wishes and over our objections" and the UK branch of The Regime keeps proposing plans to protect the foreign savages from the public. Soclose to what the public is demanding, just, you know, the complete opposite.
Just a thought: Maybe you wouldn't have to worry about the public attacking the savage criminals if you actually introduced a plan to protect the public from the savage criminals. Maybe they wouldn't feel as if it was necessary for them to protect the public through self-help.
