Shorty Chavez, Next DNC Chair

The Democrats have a new friend.

The Venezuelan leader said he felt comfortable criticizing President Bush, noting that Washington has been critical of his own administration on questions of human rights, respect for democracy and other issues. Mr. Chavez has repeatedly accused the United States of planning to assassinate him, and consistently rails against capitalism and what he terms American imperialism.

Yes, indeedy. Its so nice that commie thugs feel comfortable about lashing the U.S.

Don't question his patriotism!

Thanks, Democratic Party. Do you get it yet, fucknuts?

Correction: The original post above makes it sound like Chavez 'felt comfortable' criticizing the US because our own people (Dems) are criticizing us. But after re-reading the quote I see that he is saying he feels that way because Washington has been critical of his own (Chavez's) regime.
Sorry about that.

He does still parrot Dem talking points in the rest of the article, if it makes anybody feel better. Makes me feel a little better.

What can I say. I'm easy to please. A brand new drool cup and a shiny piece of foil can keep me occupied for hours.

..using leftist talking points. Repeating what Democrats say when criticizing Bush. Like "on vacation".

It won't change them. Nothing new really, I remember the same crap with Daniel Ortega, Castro...oh, and al-Jazeera.

(Why does that always remind me of Al Jarreau?)

Chavez looks like a golem - seriously, it think his face is actually carved out of solid rock.

He and the Dems differ more on methods than on actual philosophy.

No, they don't get it.

Not.

Nope.

Here's my prediction:

Someone will smuggle a suitcase nuke across the Mexican border.

Someone from San Fransico will transport that person to Houston, where no one will notice a white hippy going about their business, even if it is in Deer Park.

Bomb explodes along Refinery Row, leading to a cascading effect that ends up incinerating much of southeast Texas. Millions die.

Lefties celebrate. Texas had it coming!

Then the power goes out. It never comes back on.

Posted by: Slublog on September 7, 2005 08:09 PM

Chavez has been a douche since (at least) '98. I went to school with a kid from Venezuela whos uncle had all his assets (bottling factory, radio station, tv broadcasting gear) confiscated by the gov't at the time. Nobody heard a damn thing about that stuff back then, never mind all the human rights abuses going on, nor that the "people" have been rebelling against him since, again at least, '98 - and they're just being put down by gov't stooges. Illlegal elections, rigged recall votes, bullshit referendums... its a friggin banana republic down there. Run by straight up Communists.

Let's not forget this is the same asshole who gave $1MM to AQ on 9/11 or 9/12.

What a prick.

Posted by: fat kid on September 7, 2005 08:11 PM

Of course, the toughness of hippie doesn't matter if you make it into a nice stew.

Ooooooo Shiny! [stare]

Posted by: Sinner on September 7, 2005 08:36 PM

Sorry, Slu, but despite the novelty value of human flesh, that does not sound half as good as Dave in Texas's recipe for tortilla soup. Remember, the trick is freshly ground cumin.

Posted by: Michael on September 7, 2005 09:20 PM

Don't make me start posting recipes again.

Personally, I shoot for 78% (a solid C+), but if you want to go higher than that, have a party.

Posted by: ace on September 7, 2005 10:13 PM

90?

I think you're being too generous.

So we should never ever crtiticize our government because that would be disloyal? Isn't that called facism? Great comment!

You're right, this government killed many people. That is, if you're talking about the state and local government.

If you're not willing to face the facts that it was not entirely the fault of the federal government, though, then you've just proven yourself to be yet another lefty troll incapable of original thought.

I like 'em crazy like that. The crazier the better, because it drives the middle to the right. I was just talking to a couple of Kerry voters at work today and I couldn't get over how they put the Katrina blame squarely on Nagin and Blanco. Some of the faithful are starting to wake up.

Hugo isn't so bad after all.

1. He said he will give cheaper oil to Jesse Jackson's inner city parasites. Meaning less out of pocket for the parasites from US taxpayers!

2. His people announced over the weekend that they are appropriating Heinz Family ketchup factories in Venezuela.

Here's a tip: Don't fuck with Dave in Texas when it comes to cooking advice. Instead, if you want his tortilla soup recipe, go to here (you're going to have to scroll about 90% of the way down). You won't regret this. Remember, freshly ground chorizo.

Two more reasons why Hugo Chavez is getting more popular all over Latin America, and one more why America should say gracias!

1. His policies are ensuring the middle class gets more of the wealth created in Venezuela. The middle class is growing, the richest 1% which once had 40% of all wealth created flowing to them, have less, while the poor and middle class are seeing their standards of living rise.

2. Chavez is telling the Yankee to piss off - screw the free trade and favor the rich strategy the Yankees pushed that caused crony capitalism disaster from Panama to Argentina & Chile. The whole continent is going Left after the "freedom of the Right" experiment failed terribly. Venezuela is rolling in new petro money and Chavez has indeed pissed off every Republican Rightwinger ....and there is nothing the Gringo can do to him. Latins love this shit.

Americans can be grateful because:

1. Chavez just announced he is sending an extra 1 million barrels of refined gasoline to the USA as a way of helping out from Katrina's impact - while warning that Bush and his rich oil buddies may price gouge, so beware...

Thanks everyone for continuing the ideas for hippy recipes, or as I like to call them, hippycipes.

I feel like I've really contributed. It's getting a lot more response than my self-congratulating posts about Houston's response to refugees.

It's clear now: Eating hippies starts memes.

Posted by: Steve in Houston on September 8, 2005 02:23 AM

OMG - they are eating hippie corpses in NOLA? (without Grey Poupon)

Its Drudge siren time.

Posted by: Tony on September 8, 2005 02:43 AM

Should hippies be brined before roasting?

Posted by: lauraw on September 8, 2005 09:42 AM

"His policies are ensuring the middle class gets more of the wealth created in Venezuela."

Bullshit, Heinrich. The middle class wants this joker run out on a rail, as did the middle classes of Nicaragua and Panama. Ever and ever the guy at the top has used the mob to keep people from rising.
