Video from the Mars Roverposted by LauraW. at 04:48 PM
CommentsThat's just the Mohave Desert. We really didn't put a rover on Mars. Posted by: compos mentis on August 26, 2005 05:01 PM
I wanna go there...Mars that is...not the Mohave. Posted by: the daily missive on August 26, 2005 05:23 PM
The project that I'm currently working on will land on Mars in 2008. (crosses fingers) Posted by: Master of None on August 26, 2005 06:04 PM
Damn compos...you stole my line....It is just a sound stage in the Arizona desert. Posted by: WunderKraut on August 26, 2005 06:08 PM
Master of None, I hope you have some Sun Devils working on that project. We do want it to succeed after all! :) Posted by: BrewFan on August 26, 2005 06:57 PM

Can the discovery of Martian trailer parks be far behind? Posted by: lauraw on August 26, 2005 08:06 PM
Nice. Now someone throw up an open thread. I'm gonna go to the store, get some beer, and I think I'd like to comment drunk tonight. Thank you. Posted by: Ray Midge on August 26, 2005 09:13 PM
Corn in the fields, and listen to the rice when the wind blows cross the water. King Harvest has surely come! Posted by: Ray Midge on August 26, 2005 10:00 PM
How come there isn't more ELO on the radio? They had some good shit. Everytime there's a cool song in a movie, makes you say "Yes, haven't heard that in the longest time" it's always ELO. Almost always. Shine a little love, Everybody all around the world, the list goes on. Posted by: King Harvest on August 26, 2005 10:16 PM
Ray, yu shouldn't om=ent runkt. turst my. Posted by: lauraw on August 26, 2005 10:35 PM
I know dear Laura. But I haven't in the longest time. And today I got way too much sun. Something in that makes me wanna get drunk and be sociable. Please understand. Posted by: King Harvest on August 26, 2005 10:40 PM
Were I George Martin, I would have forced the Beatles to cut out the shit on the White album and distill it down to one kick ass platter. The world could have continued its existence without did not need Savoy Truffle and the ild. If the good stuff on 'White' were one album, it would be regarded in the same league as Pepper's. No joke. Shame. Posted by: King Harvest on August 26, 2005 11:06 PM
Both McCartney and Lennon were excellent songwriters and it's astronomicallly improbal tha they should have found each other. Jealousy and pride pushed each other to acheive, constantly attempting to outdo each other and reach for more (witness the solo careers when the pressure was off) That said, McCartney was the better. Desprite his sappy oversweetness, his songs are just better. That's not to say Lennons aren't amazing, but McCartney's are just flat out better. This became especially pronouned in the later Beatles. Lennon gets overpraised because he was a broken individual who adopted the 'bad boy' person while Paul remained the nice guy who tried too hard to please. Everyone likes the rebel. Those personality traits aside, Paul wrote the better stuff and, I think, Lennon knew it and he retreated to atonal howling as a way to avoid competition. retreated to atonal howling as a way to avoid competition. It works, too. That's how I used to get out of gym class. Posted by: lauraw on August 27, 2005 09:57 AM
King Harvest- No question. Paul was just better. John could write a great song, and Double Fantasy was a great record, but when I think of the Beatles, it's always Paul. Posted by: fugazi on August 27, 2005 10:54 AM

What is the UK Regime's plan for protecting the citizens from the savage criminals they've foisted on the populace? They offer NONE. They do, however, have a plan for protecting the savage criminals from the citizens: The citizens must STAY CALM and not get angry and not share videos of citizens being attacked by savage criminals. The public keeps saying "protect us from the foreign savages you have imported against our wishes and over our objections" and the UK branch of The Regime keeps proposing plans to protect the foreign savages from the public. Soclose to what the public is demanding, just, you know, the complete opposite. Just a thought: Maybe you wouldn't have to worry about the public attacking the savage criminals if you actually introduced a plan to protect the public from the savage criminals. Maybe they wouldn't feel as if it was necessary for them to protect the public through self-help.
