Father of Slain War Hero Challenges Saint Cindy To Debate

She's ducking him. And yet he only wants to "raise questions" with her.

If Saint Cindy, Our Lady of Perpetual Publicity, is so demanding of others' time, should she be more accomodating of this man's request?

'Cause she is soooo busy with the media, the crying at her son's picture & having first aid given all carefully recorded by the MSM,, giving speeches about how her son at age two was so cute with the "I wuv you", the posing at crosses, the meetting with Big Al Sharpton, wondering if Bin Laden wasn't set up by Bush for 9-11, listening to music, and on and on. The poor dear is too exhusted to debate someone!

Besides he is only a father and does not understand a mother's unique pain at losing a son. Slimy bastard probably tricked his son into the military anyway. Might even be a Jew, ya know.

Ace,

I love your "raise questions"schtick. It's right on the money.

Maybe you could post on some questions you'd like to raise.

Posted by: The Warden on August 26, 2005 11:01 AM

You get away from TV "news" for a while and your whole sensibilities change -- my wife turned on the morning pablum for the first time in a while, and as she flipped around the dial, no fewer than three of the talking heads made casual references to "Cindy Sheehan, the mother of a slain US soldier, who is demanding to meet with the President ..."

Now I know what al the flap is about -- I was apopleptic by 7:30 am.

Posted by: Phinn on August 26, 2005 11:02 AM

This was the funniest quote regarding the request for a debate:

He and others at "Fort Qualls" have asked for a debate with those at the Crawford Peace House, which is helping Sheehan.

It's unclear if that will happen. But a member of Gold Star Families for Peace, co-founded by Sheehan and comprised of relatives of fallen soldiers, said her group would not participate.

"We're asking for a meeting with the president, period," said Michelle DeFord, whose 37-year-old son, Sgt. David W. Johnson, was in the Army National Guard from Oregon when he was killed in Iraq last fall. "We don't want to debate with people who don't understand our point of view."

It's all about communication, dammit!

I believe I was first pointed to that article by protein wisdom.

Posted by: Hubris on August 26, 2005 11:03 AM

Hubris. That's a good one. Have you seen the reporting on "The Buzz" at NRO?

Hilarious, and eye-opening.

Sheehan’s handlers said she was refusing to give any media interviews last night and I respected their request. After having a bite to eat, Sheehan joked with her supporters, mocking the Bush supporters standing outside “Camp Casey II.” A few of the protesters walked outside the campsite to engage in hostile “dialogue” with the Bush supporters. In an unintentional moment of irony, one of the protesters screamed in a bit of self-righteous rage, “What are they doing here? They can’t protest!”
Great stuff.

Posted by: Slublog on August 26, 2005 11:07 AM

I love the free speech is great so long as the people I'm yammering at don't speak back to me crowd.

Sheehan refers to the terrorists as freedom fighters. I want to raise the following question with her: How does blowing up little kids seeking candy make one a freedom fighter?

who knew?

Just because she has the right to free speech, doesn't give her the right to be listened too.

Gary Qualls = Nazihitler

Posted by: on August 26, 2005 11:40 AM

Nazihitler

Not just a nazi, not just Hitler, but the super-doubleplusbad evil NAZIHITLER.

Man, I love trolls.

Posted by: Slublog on August 26, 2005 11:43 AM

It's kinda hard to follow the evolution of saint Cindy, is it - first she lost her son then she lost her mind, or - first she lost her mind, then she lost her son. I think the later.

Now she is doing nothing but trying to use her son for her original agitprop goals. Like Brady in the wheelchair, only this time she just carries a picture around. Both are morbid in the extreme.

Posted by: bill on August 26, 2005 11:49 AM

Almost sounds like a sneeze, don't it Slub?

Posted by: Dave in Texas on August 26, 2005 11:55 AM

No kidding.

Trolls are so cute and entertaining.

Too bad they piddle on the carpet all the time.

Posted by: Slublog on August 26, 2005 12:04 PM

Al Sharpton is going to Crawford to join Cindy. What a hoot!

Posted by: on August 26, 2005 12:17 PM

"Nazihitler." Man, that is priceless. And I love that line about, "we don't want to debate with people who don't understand our point of view." That sounds suspiciously like, "we don't want to debate with people who don't agree with us."

It's too bad these people actually have an impact on national politics. If they were as irrelevant as they deserve to be, their antics would be more entertaining than WWF wrestling.

Posted by: utron on August 26, 2005 12:21 PM

Almost makes you want to have an "all liberal antics, all the time" cable station, doesn't it?

Oh wait, sorry.

Forgot about CNN.

Comment from Cindy Sheehan's latest Huffinton Post:

Don't stop keep it up you are taking down these bastards...something nobody has been able to do up to now.

The "stay the course" folks are not Americans, they are greedy globalists.

People are rising up slowly. The mainstream media is looking over it's shoulder and doesn't know what to do next.

It's wonderful to watch incrementally. It's a movem, ent and we are not going away. Casey made a horrible sacrifice but soon flowers will be growing from his grave and from those flowers will be peace and justice and truth.

Emphasis me.

Casey made the ultimate sacrifice for his country. Not for hippy protestors to wave his bloody shirt around. This is just getting more gross every day.
Poor Casey. My heart goes out to his family.

Hell, she has stated she plans on following Bush to DC for a 3 week period, so we know where she is going to be. The man should show up with cameras in tow. Then we will see what is what, both with Mrs. Sheehan and with the press covering her.

Posted by: Defense Guy on August 26, 2005 01:14 PM

Yeah, Huffington poster, "it's a movement" for sure.

Just not the kind you're thinking.

People are rising up slowly

Is this another zombie thread?

Posted by: Dave in the Graveyard on August 26, 2005 01:58 PM

Braaaaiinnns!

Posted by: shambling zombie lauraw on August 26, 2005 02:16 PM

He has the "absolute moral authority" to demand a debate.

MoDo says so...

Casey made a horrible sacrifice but soon flowers will be growing from his grave and from those flowers will be peace and justice and truth.

Creepy language construction. I'd be happier if she at least said flowers would grown ON his grave. FROM the grave is not really a happy thought with dead loved ones.

Posted by: S. Weasel on August 26, 2005 06:29 PM

You'd think the Fenton Comm consultant would coach her around the creepy stuff.

Posted by: Dave in Texas on August 26, 2005 07:42 PM

Correct she is far from perfect, acturally not all that good.
But neither is the president, and which is more disconcerning?

What is the UK Regime's plan for protecting the citizens from the savage criminals they've foisted on the populace? They offer NONE. They do, however, have a plan for protecting the savage criminals from the citizens: The citizens must STAY CALM and not get angry and not share videos of citizens being attacked by savage criminals.
The public keeps saying "protect us from the foreign savages you have imported against our wishes and over our objections" and the UK branch of The Regime keeps proposing plans to protect the foreign savages from the public. Soclose to what the public is demanding, just, you know, the complete opposite.
Just a thought: Maybe you wouldn't have to worry about the public attacking the savage criminals if you actually introduced a plan to protect the public from the savage criminals. Maybe they wouldn't feel as if it was necessary for them to protect the public through self-help.
