High-Fashion Swimware For the Discriminating Fundamentalist Muslim WomanI don't mean to knock anyone's purely innocent and non-dangerous religious beliefs. So I'm not knocking this. Hey, if you believe you have to be covered head to toe when swimming, that's fine with me. Still, it's a bit odd to see full-body covering as a "swimsuit." I'm not the biggest feminist out there, but a bit of feminism in the Muslim world would do it a hell of a lot of good. Democracy is fine and all, but let's introduce these people to the miniskirt. That will really shake things up. Thanks to OgreGunner. posted by Ace at 02:57 PM
CommentsIn the last summer Olympics, some female sprinter from a Gulf country wore an outfit like that for her race, though it looked more like a speed skating suit. Posted by: Moonbat_One on August 9, 2005 02:59 PM
I went to a beach in Dubai once. You honestly haven't lived until you've seen those crazy Arabs swimming in the ocean with all their fucking robes on. They bloat up and billow around them in the water and it looks utterly surreal, like a bunch of giant white jellyfish decided to mosey up to the coastline. Someone oughta hack into that site and redirect all links here... Posted by: Megan on August 9, 2005 03:03 PM
Megan, lol! No airbrushing going on at the Wicked Weasel! Posted by: BrewFan on August 9, 2005 03:13 PM
Two things: One, once again, I just don't understand when Islamic women's hair goes all crazy with the man-sanity rays. I mean, the little girl on this page can show her hair, but the older women have to wear the John Kerry-style bunnys suits. Is this an age thing, or a puberty thing? I'd really hate to miss the switchover. . . there could be a few days after age 17 that one of these girls could just fry every man around them. It's dangerous, I tell you. Second, anyone up for Wendy's? Cheers, Posted by: Dave at Garfield Ridge on August 9, 2005 03:24 PM
Yeah, I remember that runner. She came in dead last, and looked like she was about to drop from heatstroke. But she ran in the Olympics, so that's progress I guess. At the beaches, I've seen more people wearing the bodyglove style suits and shorties, but Muslim women can't even wear those (and forget wetsuits)because they're form fitting, and reveal the outline of the body. So that's why their swimsuits are baggy. Hey at least they can go to the beach now. Its interesting that this Turkish company has a line for every type of muslim woman, from secular to conservative. Posted by: Iblis on August 9, 2005 03:27 PM
There are private beaches in Kuwait and the arab girls are known to wear thongs and high heels poolside. However, they're mostly lebanese. On the other hand, I have seen arab women in the pool in what looked like street clothes (to my untrained eye). I wonder how many drownings can be attributed to the women being dragged down by sodden clothing. Posted by: Kevin on August 9, 2005 03:38 PM
"Megan, lol! No airbrushing going on at the Wicked Weasel!" And you should see the Sports Illustrated bodypainting section. :) They want to put bourkas on everyone. We're fighting for our constitutional right to enjoy the glory of boobies. This is why we'll win. Posted by: Megan on August 9, 2005 03:39 PM
I have to say that Megan's link made me much hungrier than did Dave's. Posted by: compos mentis on August 9, 2005 03:52 PM
Yeah, they're not all superhot, but some of those girls could seriously make a good dog break her leash. Woof! Posted by: Megan on August 9, 2005 03:53 PM
I'm working on a new religion that combines the aspects of Islam and Wicked Weasel, sorta. The final product has a core philosophy requiring women to cover their entire bodies, with the exceptions of their breasts and thong areas. Benefits for the men: No exposure to unsightly cellulite, stretch marks and tattoos. Benefits for the ladies: No razor burn, sunburn and waxing. Plus, shorter restroom lines. See? It works in so many ways. Now I just have to figure out a catchy name for it. Altern-Islam? Mmmm, I dunno. Still brainstorming... Posted by: Dogstar on August 9, 2005 04:09 PM
One thing's for certain: Arab women must have one of the world's lowest skin cancer rates. Which, hey, great consolation prize! Posted by: Beck on August 10, 2005 06:48 AM
Seems like wrapping yourself in a flannel blanket is just as effective and a lot cheaper. But these Teletubby suits may have headlight dimmers that a flannel blanket lacks, thus minimizing the freak-out factor for the male swimmers. I'd call it a toss-up. Posted by: Tongueboy on August 10, 2005 08:47 AM
I saw a woman at a waterpark recently with her two kids wearing the head to toe swimwear. What struck me was that her husband had on a regular swimsuit, showing his body for all to see. The double standard right there was enough to make me sick. Posted by: Rightwingsparkle on August 10, 2005 09:44 AM
Muslim dress codes say that men can't show from the navel to the knee. Islam is a religion by men for men. A woman is worth half a man. Posted by: Iblis on August 10, 2005 09:51 AM
To quote P.J. O'Rourke (from memory): Probably accounts for the lack of a truly world-class Shihite women's swim team. Posted by: rgh on August 10, 2005 10:10 AM
Just a bit behind the times. Go look at pix from Coney Island circa 1890-1915. These outfits would have been considered daring, if not obscene. Posted by: John Anderson on August 10, 2005 06:26 PM
As a Muslim girl, I understand that you don't understand our point of view. Muslem woman has high value in Islam, she is like an angle with all the rights to be dealt as a top of the world .I advice you to not listen to the media that has nothing with the islamic rules. all what you want is to disfasion our pics. OK we don't need your opinion. Does your religon asks for naked women of course not but the difference is that we respect our religion that is what you don't do for your religion. we are not those with cheap bare body. for those who right bad words , I wonder if you have ethics of human to comment with better words. we don't hurt anybody by our clothes, so keep yur clothes as you want and let us waer what we like, Isn't this is freedom. Posted by: sonia on September 3, 2005 12:24 AM
Sonia informed us: "Muslem woman has high value in Islam" Honestly?! Quick! Someone tell the Moslems! Posted by: Megan on September 3, 2005 03:17 AM
Heh heh. I just checked out the website for Sonia's ISP, maktoob.com. At present, there's an advertisement on the front page featuring a woman in a bikini. Apparently, Moslem man has high value for boob and butt. Posted by: S. Weasel on September 3, 2005 07:24 AM
Hah. Nice catch, Weas. Posted by: Megan on September 3, 2005 08:25 AM

did you go to egypt, lebanon , many other location, did you see how many muslim women just wear bikini . where is the forcing? . Moslim women aren't forced to waer, certain fashion I am live in noth america where no one could force muslims to wear hijab yet did you see how many muslim women wear hijab. I wear hijab by my chioce not for I am forced I do cuz I love Allah and love my religion and want to live my life enjoying it yet be religous. this is the difficult equation you will never get. Posted by: sonia on September 3, 2005 05:10 PM
Honstly, I am not able to reply those who use bad words to represent themselves . I do appreciate people who are really have another point of veiw yet have ethics to represent these differences Posted by: sonia on September 3, 2005 05:15 PM
What were the "bad words" I used, hon? "Honestly, "quick," or "Moslems?" Should I bet on the last? Posted by: Megan on September 3, 2005 05:18 PM
Megan said boobies. Posted by: on September 3, 2005 05:20 PM
Oh! See, and here I was thinking that she just couldn't respond to the stories about Moslems burning women alive, raping them, throwing acid in their unveiled faces, beating them, hanging them, stoning them for BEING RAPED, and just generally enslaving them because I'd said "honestly." Posted by: Megan on September 3, 2005 05:25 PM
Sonia, I can put my hand on my heart and say I have never seen a woman wearing a hijab in North America. No, wait...that's not true. There's a woman at work who does. She converted about ten years ago. Before that, she was a whitebread Methodist or something. I suspect she only does it to annoy. Eh. You want to wear a scarf, wear a scarf. You want to wear a yarmulke, wear a yarmulke. The burqa, though...that's just creepy. And what's with that Amish thing? Jeez, get some shape to your hats! Posted by: S. Weasel on September 3, 2005 05:26 PM
Silly little me. Posted by: Megan on September 3, 2005 05:26 PM
Still compliant and ignorant. You didn't mention Iran, Pakistan or Saudi Arabia. They might not be forced to cover themselves, but they still treat women like property, even to the point of murdering women that don't toe the line. Not too surprising from a religion that follows the teachings of a child molesting prophet. And for God's sake, get somebody that speaks English to translate your postings. I can barely understand half of what you're trying to say. It's like reading the diary of a retarded 6 year old. Posted by: digitalbrownshirt on September 3, 2005 05:28 PM
Child-molesting and self-admittedly under Satan's sway. What tends to get missed is that when Jerry Falwell said Mohammed was a "demon-possessed pedophile" he wasn't really contradicting the Koran or the Hadiths to the slightest degree. Posted by: Megan on September 3, 2005 05:32 PM
really u don't see women in north america wearing hejab???? Posted by: on September 3, 2005 05:40 PM
We don't really pay attention to Canada. Posted by: Megan on September 3, 2005 05:40 PM
Sonia, I'd have to agree with Megan. Canada is to the U.S. as Gaza is to the Arab world; useful sometimes but generally annoying. Posted by: BrewFan on September 3, 2005 05:48 PM
something in this world called customs and traditions I am not here to defence what pople with certain customs do. I never live in Iran or whatever but who siad Islam is iranian or saudian . Islam is a religion not for certain countries, Muslims are there in Bakistanand malyzya and others if we don't like some tradition of country has nothing with the religion. some places in africa where poeple are cristian yet they eat each other has nothing to do with the religion. why we generalize? Posted by: sonia on September 3, 2005 05:49 PM
Good lord! You were born and raised in Canada?! I like to cut people some slack on language, since it's hard to argue in a borrowed tongue, but really... Posted by: S. Weasel on September 3, 2005 05:54 PM
Canada is respectable country , we respect differences, we respect freedom , we respect our multicultual society, we don't have pre-jadgment from any kind we can see the others and respect thier point of views, I thinl this is a kind of true peace and love, so it worth to got all the attention (^_^) Posted by: sonia on September 3, 2005 05:56 PM
Yeah, yeah. That whole multicultural thing is working a treat in England. And the Netherlands. And France. And the rest of Europe. Mark my words, once Europe turns and starts preaching single-culturalism, Canada will turn, too. It's always tugging on Europe's coattails trying to get attention. Posted by: S. Weasel on September 3, 2005 06:00 PM
Sonia asked: "why we generalize?" Hmm, I dunno. Could be because of that thing in the Sharia about a woman's testimony being worth half that of a man's. And the requirement of 4 male witnesses to prove an accusation of rape. You'd think that if 4 male witnesses watched a rape occur and did fuckall to stop it, it would disqualify them from ever being called "men" again in their lives. Oops, I used a naughty word there. But hey, unlike Islam, at least I'm not killing and torturing innocent people. Posted by: Megan on September 3, 2005 06:01 PM
when you are judged as a terrorist , when poeple look at you in starnge way for your differnt style in wearing , when many dominant countries united against your religion, when thier media busy itself with how they could harm your religion reputation, when all those pople who killed in Irak for nothing and in Phalastine yet they are described as terrorist, when alla that happens around you yet you are coping , yet you are proud with your religion yet you are there to say I am muslim till my death, I am muslim and thanks GOD that I am. there must be a reason!! and the reason is simply in the core of Islam, may the poeple who obey it could really represent it right yet it is a great gift from our GOD to all the huminty Posted by: sonia on September 3, 2005 06:15 PM
Ah. Okay. So being a Muslim is like being in the Chess Club: you all stick together because the other kids hate you and think you dress funny. Got it. Posted by: S. Weasel on September 3, 2005 06:20 PM
"when you are judged as a terrorist" Kind of hard to avoid that when your coreligionists go 'round murdering innocent people by the planeload. Y'all willing to condemn Al Qaeda, Hezbollah, Al Aqsa, and so many more I can't be bothered to remember all the bastards? Because your religious leaders sure ain't. Posted by: Megan on September 3, 2005 06:22 PM
Also, Sonia, tough to avoid noticing how you've ignored all the substantive questions so far. Y'know, about Sharia, the constant, continuous, and absolutely characteristic abuse Moslems visit upon women all over the fucking world, wherever they go. You think gang-rapes are a major part of Australian culture? Posted by: Megan on September 3, 2005 06:26 PM
"tough to avoid noticing how you've ignored all the substantive questions so far. Y'know, about Sharia, the constant, continuous, and absolutely characteristic abuse " Well; Yeah I may just say the general facts, Cuz I may not be able to answer with my english level of representation yet I will do; 1-Islam has nothing to do with killing innocent poeple , yes we are ordered to defense our lands our digintiy to die for our families yet we aren't ordered to kill poeple who do nothing to us, we hate seeing poeple killed in buses or bars or watever those innocent are as those innosent in phalastine too and Irak too all poeple have the right to live in peace and we should respect the value of life this is the Islam , if there are some terrorist who are muslim and saying they do by the rules of Islam so we are against them too and we hate them too and we understand how they are far from Islamic rules Posted by: sonia on September 3, 2005 06:38 PM
About 4 male see the rape,, It is simply the wise of Islam too prevent anyone to till lies about women' honor , it is to protect women from those poeple with no honor to till they see her having illegal relation with anyone, so if anybody want to talk about woman must have those wittness and of course he/she cannot got those wittness, so simply poeple will think thousand times before talking about illegal relation of married women. at the same time this to prevent scandles yet the divorce is allowed so the husbend who know that about his wife or the wife who know that about her husbend can ask for divirce and get it without scandles without getting all the world talk about them without getting harm thier kids that is wisdom .you simply see things is your way so don't judge in something u don't understand Posted by: sonia on September 3, 2005 06:45 PM

I'm still wondering why a baby raper like Mohammed would be the go-to guy in their cult. Posted by: on September 3, 2005 07:27 PM
S. Weasel &c, y'all got this thread for the next few hours. I gotta go shower. Do me proud. Posted by: Megan on September 3, 2005 07:31 PM
I am studing my Ph.D. in Engineering after getting an award of excellance , so there is no place for "illitrate" describtion here. I do undertand that whatever I said will not change your point of view, yet all what I tried to do is to explain that difrentiation in beleiving is not enough reason for hate Posted by: sonia on September 3, 2005 07:32 PM

Do I have to do every fucking thing on my fucking own? Posted by: Megan on September 3, 2005 11:21 PM
if you mean the Great prophet Mohammed by your bad describtion so you should understand is that Mohammed is not as normal human he is Messenger from allah just like Jesus, so If we can beleive that Maria got Jesus without father and this is unquestionable so Marraige of mohammed by young girl Aisha is out of questioable specially if you know this lady became one of the muslim leader's after many years. Posted by: on September 4, 2005 07:19 PM
Or may I use bad describtion for Maria too for getting baby without husbend!!!!?????No cuz we beleive in Jesus as well as beleiving In Mohammed , you are the only losers Posted by: sonia on September 4, 2005 07:21 PM
Go ahead, Sonia. Let 'er rip. I never believed that whole "honest -- dove knocked me up" thing, myself. Woohoo! Watch me! Hit by lightning, any minute now! Posted by: S. Weasel on September 4, 2005 08:16 PM
:) Faith is inside , even if you don't beleive for a while , there will be sometimes when u must beleive. I beleive in Jesus as well I just wanted to say we don't have to compare prophets with regular human cuz something are special for them to allow them cope and inform poeple with whatthey come with. sorry my english of course not represintative Posted by: sonia on September 4, 2005 10:52 PM
"cuz something are special for them to allow them cope and inform poeple with whatthey come with" Jesus seemed to do all right without fucking nine year-old girls. Or slaughtering entire cities, come to that... Posted by: Megan on September 5, 2005 05:31 AM
As I said if Maria got baby without husbend just cuz she is the mother of the prophet couldn't Our mother Aisha got marry Mohammed even she is younger than this also if the infant Jesus could speak to poeple so this 9-yrs kid could marry Mohammed , Mohammed is prophet again just as jesus there must be a wisdom behind anything they do. or as I said you just want to see one side of things. Posted by: on September 5, 2005 12:31 PM
also come tell me; did u hear he harm her or insult her or she was in bad living with him, NO she was the happiest woman in the world and he loved her as no anyone else and she loved him so much and muslims all got learn a lot of islamic behaviour from her. she is our mother Aisha if you don't know her go and ask who is Aisha . Lost Seventies Mystery Click: The Darkest Song Ever Recorded?
I think Professor of Rock (on YouTube) claimed this song was so upsetting that people used to pull over to the side of the road when it came on the radio. It's about a fatal plane crash, but obviously it suggests a fatal car crash too, which could wig out a driver. It's like one of those nasty 70s anti-war body horror movies. Not for the squeamish. I'm not even going to post the lyrics because they're upsetting too.
