NYT Declares a New Holiday: The Anniversary of the August 6, 2001 PDB Report on TerrorismUnbelievable. Hardcore hard-left hack Elizabeth Bumiller strikes again, inserting, for no real purpose, that "annother anniversary" of the President's Daily Briefing on terrorism (shock: Al Qaeda wants to strike us!) has passed. She notes that the President is trying to appear busy during his vacation out of a desire to be in purposeful motion on another anniversary of the now-infamous C.I.A. briefing that Mr. Bush received at the ranch on Aug. 6, 2001. That briefing, which informed the new president that the terrorist network Al Qaeda had maintained an active presence in the United States for years and could be preparing for hijackings here, created a political uproar when its contents were eventually made public. Kaus notes that this "anniversary" isn't exactly on everyone's minds at the 7-11 he frequents. Perhaps it's more celebrated at Bumiller's favorite Starbucks. I've got to give it to the Daily Kos-- the tail is now wagging the dog. The most unhinged and hyperpartisan elements of the sinistrosphere say jump and the Times' neutral and objective reporters ask how high. posted by Ace at 08:05 PM
CommentsAnd this, my friend, is the "reality based community". Indeed. Posted by: Steve on August 8, 2005 08:18 PM
Now all the Left fringe has to do is win elections for the Democrats. That's when screaming "chickenhawk" over and over again seems to fail Kos. Posted by: Moonbat_One on August 8, 2005 08:46 PM
Come on, don't you know that the left is right about this and every other issue under the sign? All they have to do, in my opinion, is TALK LOUDER. I don't think that their message is reaching people. Posted by: Steve on August 8, 2005 09:01 PM
Remember, August 6 was the day that Bush recieved a cassette tape from Mohammed Atta that explained the exact nature of the 9/11 plot in detail and ended with the mocking phrase "betcha can't catch us!" Posted by: marc on August 8, 2005 10:40 PM
Damn. I forgot to buy a card. Posted by: Sean M. on August 9, 2005 12:11 AM
Four in 9/11 Plot Are Called Tied to Qaeda in '00 In 2000, a military intelligence unit identified Mohammed Atta and three other future Sept. 11 hijackers as likely members of a cell of Al Qaeda operating in the U.S. Ms. Bumiller, have you NO Shame??? Former CIA operative John Kiriakou talks with Matt Taibbi about the Brennan/Comey Coup
Both guys are old liberals, maybe even of the far-left variety, and both are appalled by the Democrat/Deep State coup against the US. Kiriakou says that CIA officers were legally obligated to report to the Inspector General John Brennan's repeated overruling of actual intelligence to encode his partisan conspiracy theories into US intel product, but of course they didn't.
