"Moderate" British Imam: Let's Keep An Open Mind; How Do We Know Four Dead Muslim Suspects Were Bombers Rather Than Victims?

Apparently the word "moderate" is as elastic with respect to imams as it is with respect to Democratic politicians:

A press conference organised by the city council took an unexpected twist when the chairman of Birmingham central mosque, Mohammad Naseem, who is known as a moderate voice, attacked the way the bombings investigation had been carried out.

Dr Naseem said the government had given the impression Muslims were to be targeted. "Why do we not have an open mind about this?" he asked. "Terrorists can be anybody."

He had seen no evidence Muslims were responsible for the bombings and attempted attacks. He claimed the four men killed among others on July 7 could have been innocent passengers.

"Terrorists can be anybody." Uh huh.

This just in: six Iowan schoolgirls from the 4H Club -- "the Female Youth Group of Peace" (TM) -- abducted and beheaded a Jewish reporter today, proclaiming that further "infidels" would be "executed" until the Des Moines minor-league baseball team changes its name to the Rainbow Unicorns.

More like the "Religion of Cognitive Dissonance" if you ask me.

Thanks to Checkers McBamp.

I believe the imam. As a drunkard believes a drunkard, and a madman a madman.

Right.

Who do they think will believe this?

What's the joke? Damn these bhuddists?

If I understand what the imam is driving at, he might be suggesting that the guys carrying the bombs are no more directly culpable than the poor woman who unintentionally smuggled a bomb on the Lockerbie flight. Or the young man with Down's Syndrome that the Palestinians tried to convert into an unwilling suicide bomber.

Interestingly enough, this does suggest a reason that racial profiling might not be a worthwhile thing. If we get really good at nabbing young Arab men, would they not start making friends with Granny next door, and have her carry a bomb on board a plane?

Or, on the other hand, this guy could just be a gigantic choad.

Ace, You don't know many folks from Iowa, do you?

Posted by: Tesh on July 28, 2005 08:45 AM

You know what Imams should do when the press approaches them for a quote? They should shut up.

But I'm glad they don't. I'm strongly in favor of mass deportations.
When idiots like this speak, its like he's clicking his heels together and saying,
"There's no place like home! There's no place like home!"

Wassup with picking on Iowa, Ace? It's not enough that we have to dodge the burning lumps of flesh from wide-eyed 4H fanatics who detonate themselves daily at our county fairs, but now we've gotta hear criticism of the middle-America lifestyle from an "east-coast elite screenwriter"?

You know, these 4H kids are only blowing themselves to pieces & beheading JOOOOOOOOOOOS because of discrimination from blue-staters like you, Ace. You're perpetuating this cycle of violence with your dependence on corn & pork products, and the sooner you develop your own New Yawk based sources for delicious pork snacks the sooner you'll be able to withdraw from Iowa & leave it to the mercy of 4H fundamentalists.

"NO BLOOD FOR CORN! ACE LIED, JOOOOOOOS DIED!"

This is a slap in the face to all Britons. And I pray that they won't stand for it. How dare he insult us by claiming the bombers "may have been anybody" when this event has all the hallmarks of a terrorist bombing by Islam? The audacity and insoucience of this Moslem show quite clearly how little he fears reprisal when he insults all Britons like this. Hey mutha' fucka' it wasn't us, it could'a been anyone, and if you don't like it what'cha gonna do about it?

Thank goodness we have the media to remind us that Islam is a religion of peace

Residents in Tooting said police arrested three Turkish men from a fast food restaurant selling halal burgers. Halal is meat from a herbivore slaughtered in a humane way -- as Islam requires

Slaughtering people, well, apparently the rules aren't as strict.

Somebody tell Mohammad Naseem that this storyline wasa lot funnier when Liberal Larry did it:

Elric the Blade says he's no longer sure that Trump will have the right to appeal in the NY fraud case:
Yesterday, I thought that Trump had an appeal as of right on the fraud liability, based upon news reports that cited the second opinion as declining to find in favor of liability. That would give Trump at least 2 dissenting judges for an appeal as of right.
But now, after seeing the actual decisions, I'm not so sure. Sorry, guys. I've never seen or heard of what the second opinion did. They dissented, but ... decided not to dissent? I'm not sure what the effect is in terms of whether Trump has a right to appeal. I doubt anyone does.
I think even if Trump doesn't have a right of appeal, the Court of Appeals (NY's highest court) will take the case. But ... it's a liberal court so who knows how they'll rule. I have the docket number so I can track what gets appealed to the Court of Appeals. If Trump wants to appeal, I think he might file an appeal as of right and a petition for permission to appeal. His lawyers know this case much better than I, but even they might know what the effect of all the opinions are.
I don't think they'll take the appeal. Judges are lazy and cowardly and will duck any hot potato case they can. These judges are also liberal hacks, and do not want to deliver Trump a full victory.

Lost Seventies Mystery Click: The Darkest Song Ever Recorded?
I think Professor of Rock (on YouTube) claimed this song was so upsetting that people used to pull over to the side of the road when it came on the radio. It's about a fatal plane crash, but obviously it suggests a fatal car crash too, which could wig out a driver.
It's like one of those nasty 70s anti-war body horror movies. Not for the squeamish. I'm not even going to post the lyrics because they're upsetting too.
