Neat US/UK Flag Image

...over at Are You Conservative?

I'd link it, but then, you wouldn't have a reason to click on the link.

By the way... I'm worried about the post below. I don't intend it to be an attack on the British; that's why I specifically noted it had been written by Galloway, Soros, Moore, Ritter, and the BBC. It's not intended to suggest that the British will be cowed by terrorism, or that they have been thusfar.

I realize it's a bit early for humor, though, and I hope it doesn't offend anyone.

Then again, it's not really "humor" per se. It's a rant against the "let's appease those who would murder us" crowd written in vignette.

Ace, we know the Brits have balls. That's what makes it funny. Relax dude.

Is someone really bitching about it?

Ban em.

Posted by: fat kid on July 7, 2005 07:50 PM

Never occured to me to take it as anything other than a shot at the al quisling crowd. Perhaps it would have been clearer if at the top a few msm names - Fisk, linda foley etc. could have been included?

Posted by: max on July 7, 2005 07:52 PM

No one's complained. But, I'm just thinking what my reaction would have been had a Brit written a humor piece on the day of 9-11 suggesting, even accidentally, some defect in the American character.

I guess I don't have to wonder too much; those sorts of pieces appeared within days.

And I didn't like it.

So, I'm just clarifying.

"I'd link it, but then, you wouldn't have a reason to click on the link."

Yeah, it's a nice graphic. Nice sentiment. But it seems like that's pretty much all it's going to be, if even that - take a good long look at this, over on Powerline.

I feel bad about the dead and the wounded. They didn't deserve this. But I'm not going into tizzies about how brave the British are and how wonderful it'll be to finally, finally have them on our side. Doesn't look like they're even on their own side yet. And, frankly, I've seen enough of these false starts to get excited.

eh- since when do you care about offending anyone? Are you going soft, Ace?

Posted by: tinkerbelle on July 7, 2005 08:21 PM

Nice picture... but he forgot the Southern Cross.

Ace, it's hilarious. I didn't think I'd laugh today. Thanks.

Posted by: A. Brit on July 7, 2005 09:20 PM

Meh, I'm British, and I thought it was funny. Who are you making fun of? The apologists?

In the words of Daily Q'os, 'Screw Em'.

Trust me, Brits like nothing better than a laugh (and a few beers) at a time like this.

As for the Powerline post, consider this,

London is an extremely diverse place. They voted Red Ken in twice. He put in the scheme where you have to pay to take your car in to London, and is now talking about rationing water there. He's called 'Red' because of his politics, and he still got elected Mayor. It's also the most expensive place to live and contains a most diverse population, many of which are muslim.
He's also pretty popular with his muslim constituents

Bombing London is like bombing LA or San Francisco or New York (after 9/11). I'm sure there would be plenty of people there willing to say it was Bush's fault.
(heh wonder if all places that are expensive as hell, overrun with the homeless and have high taxes are liberal havens)

Rest assured there are plenty of people pissed off about this. Unfortunately, they don't have the media with an agenda and an axe to grind on their side.

Posted by: Ring on July 7, 2005 09:44 PM

I hope you're right.

Important Message from Recent Convert to Christianity and Yet Super-Serious Christian Tuq'r Qarlson: Actually Muslims love Jesus, it's Trump and his neocons who hate him
Tucker Carlson Network
@TCNetwork

The people in charge [Jews, of course -- ace] don't want you to know this, but Muslims love Jesus.

Islam reveres Him as a major prophet and messenger of the Lord, believes He performed miracles, and states that He will return to Earth to defeat the Antichrist. That's why Donald Trump's painting depicting himself as the Son of God offended the president of Iran. It was an attack on his religion as well as Christianity.

Trump's trolling tweet was ill-advised, but Tucker is just lying when he claims the Christianity-hating President of Iran was "offended" by this.
He's one step away from announcing his official conversion to Islam. He literally never stops praising Islam. Well, he suddenly became Christian two years ago, there's not much stopping him from converting again.
You can track Tuq'r's official conversion to Islam with this Bingo card.

Politico is reporting that multiple people have abruptly resigned from Eric Swalwell's gubernatorial campaign: "Members of senior leadership have departed the campaign, including Courtni Pugh, a strategic adviser who served as Swalwell's top liaison to organized labor groups."

So the campaign is collapsing due to the truth of the sexual harassment allegations.
That hissing sound you hear is the air going out of the Swalwell campaign. UPDATE: No it wasn't, it was just Swalwell one-cheek-sneaking out a fart on camera

Classic Rock Mystery Click
This is super-obscure and I only barely remember it. Given that, I'll give you the hint that it's by the Red Rocker.
And I guess you think you've got it made
Oh, but then, you never were afraid
Of anything that you've left behind
Oh, but it's alright with me now

Now twenty people will tell me it's not obscure, it was huge in their hometown and played at their prom. That's how it usually goes. When I linked Donnie Iris's "Love is Like a Rock," everyone said they knew that one and that his other song (which I didn't know at all) Ah Leah! was huge in their area.
