"If You Get Nervous, Just Try To Imagine The Psychopathic Dictator In His Underpants"

You can complain about the so-called "Geneva Conventions" (whatever they are), but the only thing that really matters is the magic of a child's smile as he sees Saddam in his jockey shorts.

It's a photo of Iraqi kids giggling at Saddam's beefcake photo.

"Magic of a child's smile"? Eh, what the hell. Liberals talk that sort of nonsense all the f'n' time; why do I have to sweat to come up with new shit all the time?

"Magic of a child's smile"? Yeah, sure, how bout these smiling children here. Yes those precious Iraqi children are smiling at the charred remains of American soldiers who were captured. But forget the Geneva Conventions, the smile's all that matters.

Posted by: mantis on May 23, 2005 04:15 PM

So, which smile is more malicious and evil, Mantis?

Posted by: lauraw on May 23, 2005 04:34 PM

...not to mention the sloppy comparison you are making.
Lessee....charred body hanging from on high....and mockery of an old dude in his underwear. And into this you are going to insert Geneva.

Way to go.
Please don't take this the wrong way, but you are a fucking retard.

Posted by: lauraw on May 23, 2005 05:01 PM

Not to mention, ummm, the "magic of a child's smile" is quite obviously ironic.

I don't give a shit about children's smiles. There's nothing magical about it. They're not very bright and are, effectively, retards, at least compared to adults. So of course they're always smiling.

Posted by: ace on May 23, 2005 05:10 PM

effectively, retards, at least compared to adults.

See, this is the kind of simplistic, overgeneralized statements of facts not in evidence that just gets me about the way Ace writes. He's an excellent writer, but his fantasy of an argument all too often produces statements like the above.

I mean really, look around at the adults. Please.

Posted by: vonKreedon on May 23, 2005 05:14 PM

fuck you hippie

Posted by: ace on May 23, 2005 05:17 PM

Disagree with you vonKreeden. I think he has distilled this whole matter to its essence.

You look at adults in a certain way, sure they seem dumb. But are you going to give a kid fifty bucks and tell him to go get the groceries? Only if you want three bags full of paddle-balls and twizzlers.

An adult will buy a head of lettuce and a tray of steaks, in addition to the toys and the sweets.

hahahaha

Posted by: ace on May 23, 2005 05:22 PM

Well, I guess I'm just not up to the sophisticated banter on this comment thread, because I don't get what everyone's grousing about. I LOVE the photo of the kid and his mom laughing at the photo. God damn it, they DESERVE that laugh. When people can laugh at tyrants, it means they're not afraid anymore - let 'em laugh. (Wonder what that picture is on the wall behind the lady, though - it looks like a big scary poster of Jesus.)

Oh, admit it!. All you guys have a little dictator in your pants.

Posted by: on May 23, 2005 07:45 PM

I don't mind whatever needs to be done to unlawful combatants...IMHO, they are not parties to the Geneva Convention and any traitorous liberal or NGO that says that we should simply be nice and give them one-sidedly every consideration while they violate every rule of war - has their head up their ass.

But Saddam is different. He is a Head of State who we declared to the world was a legitimate POW. And part of the laws of the Geneva Convention deal with prohibitions on publically degrading a prisoner.

After Abu Ghraib, you would think the muttonhead MP's of the US Army would be very very careful with pictures they could end up in jail for taking. Indeed, the military may end up having to ban it's soldiers from possessong digital cameras for anything other than authorized military business because you can't eliminate stupid sadistic MPs anymore than you can eliminate access to the Internet to email....

Hope they catch the asshole that either tried shopping the pics to the tabloids directly or through his relatives. Then jail him/her as a war criminal for Geneva Convention crimes. This may be easier to solve than some suspect. Saddam was a high value prisoner, and who was with him is logged, was limited to a small group of guards, and the military probably enforced a 2-man rule at all times when in proximity to Saddam.

For now, an acknowledgement that Geneva Laws were broken and yes, an apology to the mass murderer for the lack of professionalism, violation of standing military orders - of at least one of his guards, in in order...

What is the UK Regime's plan for protecting the citizens from the savage criminals they've foisted on the populace? They offer NONE. They do, however, have a plan for protecting the savage criminals from the citizens: The citizens must STAY CALM and not get angry and not share videos of citizens being attacked by savage criminals.
The public keeps saying "protect us from the foreign savages you have imported against our wishes and over our objections" and the UK branch of The Regime keeps proposing plans to protect the foreign savages from the public. Soclose to what the public is demanding, just, you know, the complete opposite.
Just a thought: Maybe you wouldn't have to worry about the public attacking the savage criminals if you actually introduced a plan to protect the public from the savage criminals. Maybe they wouldn't feel as if it was necessary for them to protect the public through self-help.
