Well, I Guess They Sorta Look Like Ninjas

Iranian female police cadets, dressed in burkas, conduct a rappelling drill.

Thanks to Greg. How the hell does he find this stuff?

Is this from the pilot episode of "Allah's Angels"?

Posted by: Jack M. on March 13, 2005 05:55 PM

Can anyone tell what kind of SMG's they're carrying?

Posted by: Mastiff on March 13, 2005 06:07 PM

Upon further inspection, I believe those SMG's to be "Vorpal Uzi's".

And I thought our Nuns were badass.

Posted by: Iblis on March 13, 2005 06:15 PM

I believe we have now seen the depths of depravity to which the Iranians have devolved. This eerily reminds me of the South during the Civil War putting slaves in their regiments, under the threat of death.

And before some of you might think the comparison is weak, consider these observations:

1) In Iran and other fundamentalist Islamic countries (such as the Sudan and the former Taliban), women are treated about the same as slaves;
2) The normal punishment for such behavior would be death (armed women in Saudi Arabia don't last too long if they are discovered; don't know about Iran);
3) Clearly, Iran is inverting their normal social rules. The South did the same when they put slaves in the war front.

The only reason that can explain this is the following:

THE IRANIANS ARE SCARED SHITLESS

The end is near, folks. It may not be prettty, and it may not be peaceful, but it is near. Nothing could be a bigger signal to me than this.

But I'm still scared to death of thoughts of the 6 foot nun that used to smack the shit out of me during grade school. I still say our nuns could put some fear into those Iranian warriors...if they were armed.

But Mother Theresa packing heat just doesn't conjure up an image that feels right.

Posted by: KCTrio on March 13, 2005 06:32 PM

They look more like militant Jawas. And yeah, those are HK MP5s, prolly the stock A3 variant although it's hard to tell at that resolution. Me, for tactical entry I prefer the HK53.

Nifty photo, but can someone please tell me exactly why the hell you would want a burkha-clad SWAT team? My imagination seems to be letting me down here.

Posted by: utron on March 13, 2005 07:16 PM

Utron:

What's happened to you? Don't you know that sexual gratification is frowned upon in Iran?

They're hiding their dildos, the extra-large size. Let's just say it helps to keep them focused. Even Alessandra knew that.

I don't know if that qualifies as imagination, but I'm trying.

Posted by: KCTrio on March 13, 2005 07:30 PM

Ha! Ha! Ha! Speaking from experience, rappelling in any kind of clothing is a tricky, uncomfortable thing to do. I have to hand it to those gals, doing it in robes has got to be harder than hell. One thing I cannot believe, is that Iran allows mere women to be in the Police!

Posted by: Kevin on March 13, 2005 08:35 PM

Utron-
My guess is that they are expecting a beat-down to come from the USA sometime soon and they want to have some ready made photo ops in place. What could be better than US troops killing Iranian women? Preferrably, for the pracitioners of the religion of peace, the killing will occur in a mosque to maximize the propoganda effect.

Or.... this is a trailer from that new Iranian kung-fu flick, Crouching Camel, Hidden Toe.

Posted by: Buckley F. Williams on March 13, 2005 08:51 PM

Ha! Ha! Ha! Speaking from experience, rappelling in any kind of clothing is tricky, uncomfortable thing to do.

Kevin, a burkha-clad SWAT team seems kind of pointless, but a SWAT team with no clothes at all just sounds downright silly....

Posted by: utron on March 13, 2005 08:58 PM

Pah, I thought it was part of the new Episode III trailer....ra pelling sith.

Posted by: jeff on March 13, 2005 11:44 PM

Buckley:

May I slightly change the name of the movie?

Crouching Burka, Hidden Camel Toe

Sorry ladies and gents if that offended, but I couldn't resist.

Posted by: KCTrio on March 14, 2005 12:08 AM

Is this what's keeping the Iranian "street" from overthrowing the mullahs?

Posted by: Blain on March 14, 2005 12:09 AM

What was that line about Ginger Rogers, backwards, and high heels?

Posted by: Yehudit on March 14, 2005 01:58 AM

>Kevin, a burkha-clad SWAT team seems kind of pointless, but a SWAT team with no clothes at all just sounds downright silly....

Sure, but imagine the ratings they'd get.

Posted by: John Nowak on March 14, 2005 04:49 AM

KC-
Yes you may and I think that title captures the feel of the film better than the original.

You in the west are as innocent as cherubs! While of course it is true that all Moslem women are quite good at assassination, these are not women. They are our Moslem Men in Black burkas who are practicing rapelling up the White House for a suicide attack. Once inside, they shall hide blow themselves up and kill Bush.

ALL PRAISES TO ALLAH THE MERCIFUL!!!

Sigh.

Doesn't that look like the bell-ringing scene at the end of the Sound of Mucic? Or I'm wondering where the Boy Blunder is in his yellow shorts and tights?

Posted by: Son of a Pig and a Monkey on March 14, 2005 03:01 PM

Reminds me of the Orthodox Christian monks who, during the Nazi invasion of Russia tied knives on the ends of sticks and excecuted an effective "bayonet" charge.

Posted by: Matt on March 15, 2005 02:29 AM

Only thing is - Was that photoshopped?

Posted by: Larry on March 15, 2005 04:35 PM

What is the UK Regime's plan for protecting the citizens from the savage criminals they've foisted on the populace? They offer NONE. They do, however, have a plan for protecting the savage criminals from the citizens: The citizens must STAY CALM and not get angry and not share videos of citizens being attacked by savage criminals.
The public keeps saying "protect us from the foreign savages you have imported against our wishes and over our objections" and the UK branch of The Regime keeps proposing plans to protect the foreign savages from the public. Soclose to what the public is demanding, just, you know, the complete opposite.
Just a thought: Maybe you wouldn't have to worry about the public attacking the savage criminals if you actually introduced a plan to protect the public from the savage criminals. Maybe they wouldn't feel as if it was necessary for them to protect the public through self-help.
