Very, Very Important Expose: American Soldiers Sometimes Get Raunchy

Unlike the rest of the under-30 population of America, I'm sure.

I think the MSM owes it to all of us to get the bottom of this outrage. Female soldiers engaging in-- mudwrestling? Horrible, horrible, horrible.

I fully expect Frank Rich to step up to the plate and defend their rights to engage in a little raunchy play-sexuality.

Yawn. The left only seems shocked by the occasional excesses of the human sex drive when it can use such to attack conservatives or the military.

You're wrong about this one, Ace. This is a bad break down in discipline.

Posted by: Donnah on February 7, 2005 01:18 PM

I'm not sure I really disagree with you.

My main point is that the left seems very interested in a "breakdown in discipline," as you put it, that I have to imagine occurs with some frequency, and is dealt with as a matter of routine.

Posted by: ace on February 7, 2005 01:33 PM

Again, you're mistaken. Units can't FUNCTION like this. It is not something that occurs with some frequency and is dealt with as a matter of routine.
Where did they even get the time for this? There's always work to be done and the rule is to keep the troops busy. The most free time I got the entire time I was in Saudi was one 12-hour stretch that my squad leader arranged for me to have. I bathed, washed my clothes, and slept.

This is a sympton of rot in that unit's command.

Donnah,

If you like, why don't you sum your thoughts up and post them as an entry and then I'll link you as a rebuttal expert witness?

Posted by: ace on February 7, 2005 01:45 PM

Hey Ace,

Im an expert witness when it comes to female mudrasslin' too. Ill sum up my thoughts on the subject and you can post it if you want to:

I LIKE FEMALE MUDWRESTLING

rebut that Donnah!

Posted by: striped amish ox on February 7, 2005 01:56 PM

LOL@Amish.
Yeah, I'll do that, Ace.
NCOs were there and didn't intervene. Officers were there and didn't intervene. That's not how that railroad runs.

My sergeant would have made my head explode like in Scanners if I'd even have thought of doing something like that.

Posted by: Donnah on February 7, 2005 02:12 PM

I prefer Jell-O wrestling myself.

The left only seems shocked by the occasional excesses of the human s*x drive when it can use such to attack conservatives or the military.

What about Janet Jackson last year? Is she a conservative or in the military? That seemed to get a good deal of play in the msm (since your only link was to an AP story, I'm assuming by saying "the left" you mean the msm). Plus, I doubt its ever been widely reported if soldiers use their time on r&r or whatever to visit a strip club or prostitute (not that I'm saying this is common, but it certainly happens). In addition to Donnah's comments, I think the reason this is making news is because it is clearly male soldiers ogling female soldiers, and some people might not think this is something our boys and girls in uniform should be engaging in, especially considering the s*xual harrassment problems that some women in the military have had.

btw my comment was first rejected because of the word I pasted from your post.

Posted by: mantis on February 7, 2005 04:59 PM

Argh, but it's not male soldiers ogling female soldiers of equal rank that I'm getting at. It's officers ogling enlisted. It's NCOs not only ogling non-NCOs, but arranging the whole thing.
None of this is allowed and it's not allowed because it destroys the unit.

Posted by: Donnah on February 7, 2005 05:20 PM

Your point is taken, Donnah, and I agree with your assessment of the damage. However, the main point of the post was should this have been a wire story? Do you think this would have been a wire story on Sept. 10th, 2001?

Posted by: BrewFan on February 7, 2005 07:01 PM

Ummm I've seen worse. Female Sgt.'s flashing their tits at trivia night. Granted, that was at a Tradoc installation which is more relaxed than some muddy boots place like Ft. Hood, but still. What is so bad about this? If it was 3 guys mud wrestling it would be boys having fun. You throw a chick in there and now it's "s*xualized" because one of the participants has a vagina. She was just having fun too. Soldiers need an outlet. Would you rather have her getting wasted at the bar and flashing her tits like I've seen?

Posted by: Wittys*xkitten on February 7, 2005 09:32 PM

If we were at war then, yes. If we'd already had a big prison scandal, yes.

I think we're over-relying on these non-Regular units that aren't up to the job. We need to put them in slots where they can't f*ck up us. Again. There's guys are not professionals- as evidenced by their behavior. The lower-enlisted, they're not the problem, they're there to be led, it's the arranging of this by the NCOs, the backbone, that worries me. I don't know sergeants like this. All I ever saw sergeants do was work their asses off and take care of their squads.
Maybe all the papers care out now is some girl showing her titties. But soon it's going to be explained simply enough to them what all has to go wrong for something like this to happen.

Right now the papers are still in the retarded phase, saying things like "Most of them wore T-shirts emblazoned with Army logos, but at least one was still wearing his uniform," too ignorant to know that those are uniforms too. Gah.

Posted by: Donnah on February 7, 2005 10:03 PM

Give me a break, chick.
This isn't some tanked-up sergeant flashing her tits to strangers in a stateside bar.

Posted by: Donnah on February 7, 2005 10:16 PM

Donnah does have a point. There's a difference when the company is "mixed" -- when there are officers, NCOs, and enlisted present -- and when it's just a group of enlisted blowing off steam. There are issues of discipline and fraternization to think about.

As for flashing, any female soldier had better make sure word doesn't get back to a superior. When Hubs was stationed in Guam we knew of a similar incident and the IG got involved when a complaint was filed.

And I think the biggest mistake that was made in this case was doing it in front of a camera. I have a feeling it got blown WAY out of proportion and should have been kept within the ranks. Whether or not the soldiers were wrong, the AP ran the story to make the military look bad, like this sort of thing happens all the time.

Later,
bbeck

Important Message from Recent Convert to Christianity and Yet Super-Serious Christian Tuq'r Qarlson: Actually Muslims love Jesus, it's Trump and his neocons who hate him
Tucker Carlson Network
@TCNetwork

The people in charge [Jews, of course -- ace] don't want you to know this, but Muslims love Jesus.

Islam reveres Him as a major prophet and messenger of the Lord, believes He performed miracles, and states that He will return to Earth to defeat the Antichrist. That's why Donald Trump's painting depicting himself as the Son of God offended the president of Iran. It was an attack on his religion as well as Christianity.

Trump's trolling tweet was ill-advised, but Tucker is just lying when he claims the Christianity-hating President of Iran was "offended" by this.
He's one step away from announcing his official conversion to Islam. He literally never stops praising Islam. Well, he suddenly became Christian two years ago, there's not much stopping him from converting again.
You can track Tuq'r's official conversion to Islam with this Bingo card.
