Slow Blogging Day

My upper respiratory bug is now a full-on fever with chills (and no, cowbell won't cure it). I'll do a little linking, but I'm pretty out of it today.

Get well soon.

bummer:( We had that go through the house a few weeks ago. Coughing coughing for weeks on end.

Posted by: carin on February 2, 2005 02:21 PM

But how are your T-cells? Oh, sorry. Forgot which blog I was reading.

Posted by: skinbad on February 2, 2005 02:32 PM

If more cowbell will not cure it, it must be bad.

Posted by: addison on February 2, 2005 02:53 PM

Awwww, poor Ace.

Get away from the computer, put a hat on and just rest in a warm place, fer crying out loud.

Posted by: lauraw on February 2, 2005 03:12 PM

uplug and phone and computer, wrap something fuzzy around your neck, drink hot booze, and watch "I Dream of Jeannie" re-runs....works every time!

Posted by: CatherineAZ on February 2, 2005 03:15 PM

What about "Happy Jihadi"?

Get well soon.

Posted by: fat kid on February 2, 2005 03:21 PM

Ace, I'm sure a beagle and a CPAP machine will cure you. And a few months off blogging. Right after a successful fundraiser intended to help you continue blogging.

Posted by: Rocketeer67 on February 2, 2005 03:28 PM

Yeah, but in order for Ace to get any "street cred" before his blog-drive, he's gonna need to start:
1) dancing at the "mine shaft"
2) wearing halter tops
3) smoking the "bologna-pony"

I, for one, know Johnny will be rather jealous if it comes down to #3.

Posted by: fat kid on February 2, 2005 03:37 PM

Not that there's anything wrong with that....

Posted by: fat kid on February 2, 2005 03:37 PM

Great. First you take off for Sundance and stick everyone with those crappy guest-bloggers for 5 days, then you get sick.

Posted by: John from WuzzaDem on February 2, 2005 04:26 PM

But how is your beagle? Oh, sorry. Forgot which blog I was reading.

Cheers,
Dave at Garfield Ridge

Dude, you do NOT want the Sullivan demographic. Next thing you know there'll be Striesand midis playing when you load the page.

Posted by: Iblis on February 2, 2005 07:38 PM

First Sullivan quits.

Now Ace is indisposed.

Anyone still doubt that they're not the same person?

j/k Ace. Get well soon.

Posted by: hobgoblin on February 2, 2005 08:14 PM

"that they ARE the same person"

jeez, I need a rest.

Posted by: hobgoblin on February 2, 2005 08:15 PM

You've got three days to get better. Do you hear me? One week.

Posted by: Guy T. on February 2, 2005 08:20 PM

DAMN, Ace, I hope you watched or recorded the SOTU.
W jerked it outta the park, man.

He had the Dems grudgingly rising to their feet more than I thought was possible. He must have had little cattle prods installed into the seats left of the aisle.

But really there was not much they could object to- even when they booed at the Social Security stuff it almost sounded like they were agreeing with him about the dire circumstances SS was in. High comedy.

He had the breadth of vision, the detail and depth, and the heart tugging emotion all there.

Wow.
Will be amused to see the lefty response tomorrow.

Posted by: lauraw on February 2, 2005 10:31 PM

What lauraw said. Wow.

Posted by: someone on February 2, 2005 10:47 PM

I agree with lauraw. What I found most significant, as I said in my first blog post in about two weeks*, is that Bush understands incrementalism as the path to destroying social-ism and the sickening slavery to government that has characterized most of the 20th century.

But I'm sure Michael Savage is hemorrhaging right now. "That liberal Bush is only expanding the power of social-ism! What a schlemiel!"

Stuff it, Michael. Bush knows how to play the game better than an overwrought natural foods guru.

*What can I say? School is back in session. How do you keep it up so consistently, Ace?

Posted by: PlacidPundit on February 2, 2005 11:11 PM

Someone go by Ace's place and hold a mirror under his nose to see if he's still breathing. No telling what he may have caught on that trip.

Posted by: Bullwinkle on February 3, 2005 01:16 AM

Yeah, take a vacation from the blog until you feel better. Rest and take your favorite remedy: booze, chicken soup, or whatever.

Posted by: Jim C. on February 3, 2005 01:44 AM

I can't believe Ace is missing all this. The left is pooping its diaper in response to the speech last night. The nitpicking is terrific, hope they don't wake up too soon to that boomerang coming back at them.

One of my favorite comments froma lefty liveblogger last night was;

"Why is Kerry clapping??"

Mwaaaa ha haaaa

Posted by: lauraw on February 3, 2005 10:10 AM

Gonna miss your stuff Ace.

Have some chicken soup, a nap and get better dude.

Posted by: Cracka Jack on February 3, 2005 10:28 AM

Not sure what to make of this maybe it is a sign of the end of days or something.

Anyway NPR did a lengthy piece on cowbell yesterday!

Is this some sort of subtle signal that they have finally seen the errors of there ways? Based on the rest of the swill I heard apparently not.

Posted by: James on February 3, 2005 10:58 AM

Alright slacker. Time to get back to work. :P

Where's my funny? Be funny.

Important Message from Recent Convert to Christianity and Yet Super-Serious Christian Tuq'r Qarlson: Actually Muslims love Jesus, it's Trump and his neocons who hate him
Tucker Carlson Network
@TCNetwork

The people in charge [Jews, of course -- ace] don't want you to know this, but Muslims love Jesus.

Islam reveres Him as a major prophet and messenger of the Lord, believes He performed miracles, and states that He will return to Earth to defeat the Antichrist. That's why Donald Trump's painting depicting himself as the Son of God offended the president of Iran. It was an attack on his religion as well as Christianity.

Trump's trolling tweet was ill-advised, but Tucker is just lying when he claims the Christianity-hating President of Iran was "offended" by this.
He's one step away from announcing his official conversion to Islam. He literally never stops praising Islam. Well, he suddenly became Christian two years ago, there's not much stopping him from converting again.
You can track Tuq'r's official conversion to Islam with this Bingo card.

Politico is reporting that multiple people have abruptly resigned from Eric Swalwell's gubernatorial campaign: "Members of senior leadership have departed the campaign, including Courtni Pugh, a strategic adviser who served as Swalwell's top liaison to organized labor groups."

So the campaign is collapsing due to the truth of the sexual harassment allegations.
That hissing sound you hear is the air going out of the Swalwell campaign. UPDATE: No it wasn't, it was just Swalwell one-cheek-sneaking out a fart on camera
