Bordeaux Wine Sales Down, Down, Down

Gob-smackingly vile:

Bordeaux wine exports sink in 2004 BORDEAUX, France, Jan 6 (AFP) - Bordeaux wine producers announced more depressing export figures Thursday, with sales to the United States down by more than a third in a year.

Overall exports from the historic wine region of southwest France were down 10 percent in volume and 24 percent in value for the first three quarters of 2004 compared to the same period in 2003, according to the Interprofessional Council of Bordeaux Wine (CIVB).

Exports to the United States were down by a massive 35 percent in volume and 59 percent in value, and sales to Britain down by 21 percent in volume and 33 percent in value, it reported.

...

French wine-makers are going through their worst crisis in decades thanks to competition from new producer countries and falling domestic consumption.

Ahem.

No mention of a boycott due to the backlash against Gallic anti-Americanism and cynicical corruption, eh?

Just "competition" and "falling domestic consumption."

On the latter point, I think Bluto said it best: "I suggest you start drinking heavily."

And he was pre-med. Or pre-law. Eh, what's the difference.

Thanks to GregS. No link, alas. But it comes from Expedia, and was published by the AFP.

I think Dean Wormer said it best concerning the boycott of the sniveling French...

"The time has come for someone to put his foot down. And that foot is me."

It's nice to see the boycott is working.

But Ace, the drop in wine sales from France can easily be explained by simple economic principles...there is now less demand for overpriced crap produced by backstabbing cheese eating surrender monkeys.

I still buy their champagne. Aside from that infrequently purchased item (last bottle I bought was on 11/2/04), what the hell does France make that I want or need?

It never pays to be rude to us.

I note the drop in value is much more then the drop in volume. Would/could this be an indication that the French tried to slash prices to move their stuff yet still failed to do so?

Or it could mean that the expensive labels are taking a bigger hit.

I make it a point to NEVER buy French wine.

Plus California's doing great, and so are Australia and Chile.

I need to look into which CA winery Nancy Pelosi owns, so we don't let her benefit from the boycott of France.

Some relatives of mine got a postcard at the end of October from a Santa Cruz, CA winery, of whose wine club they had been (briefly) members. The postcard had a picture of a little baby releasing a world-shaped balloon into the air, over the word "VOTE!"

My relatives responded with a postcard reading "We received your thinly disguised Kerry propaganda, and have poured all your wine down the drain". No response, of course.

More French are Muslim...no drinklie winkie.
These people just 'take' party favors from their dates, so no need to get the women...drunkie wunkie...Then We Americans hate you ungrateful French frogs....oops we will drink CA, Aussie, and Chilean...oh and our economy is booming, dating is up and US wine consumption and good-time boom-time party favors are conssentual and through the roof. The French wine industry should feel like the skinny kid with glasses picked last for dodgeballand they can thank Mr. Chirac for their athletic prowess during the economic boom of 2004-2005.

Pelosi own a small vineyard, so there's no telling which wineries buy her grapes. But E&J Gallo is the largest contributor to her campaign and also hundreds of thoudsands of dollars to the Democratic Senatorial Relection PAC. These guys make E&J Brandy, Carlo Rossi Jug Wine, and of course Gallo Thunderbird. They also make some high end wines like Turning Leaf.

And now you know.

France makes wine?

Huh.

I wouldn't know. I drink bourbon. Kentucky makes that.

Cheers,

Some people liked Candace Owens because she was a black woman who told hard truths about BLM and black criminality. But this was always a grift. She started out as a race hustler for a grift, then hustled race the other way to grift conservatives, and now she's back to being a race-hustler for the left again. Specifically, she is now claiming that people pointing out that she is legitimately low-IQ and can't pronounce half the words her AI-generated teleprompter script points out to her is racist and just Ben Shapiro's way of saying the n-word without quite saying it. You see, you can only say that black people are smart, and if you see a dumb one that doesn't know how to pronounce simple words while she poses as an investigatory journalist, you have to pretend she's actually smart or you're a racist. Weird, that doesn't sound very conservative, let alone "#Based," to me. To prove how much she hates racism, she then says that Ben Shapiro's Jew ancestors were masters of the slave trade.

Ami Kozak: Every single Tucker Carlson episode consists of him claiming he didn't say the things he said in the last episode
Also: this is the manipulation Tucker does that i hate the most. It's so cowardly. All he does is smear people (and Jews, generally), and then claim "I have nothing against [the person or group I just smeared.]" He'll even claim "I love [x], actually." Just again and again and again. It's all a lie, of course. A year ago he smeared Jews but added how beautiful he thought Israel was, and then two weeks ago, he said Israel is ugly as dog-shit and nothing beautiful has been built there "since 1948."
Just got this email from Dracula: "I love Van Helsing, actually, he's one of my personal heroes, if I'm being honest. I will claw the heart out of his belly and bathe in his blood before the children of Babylon, but I have nothing but respect for Van Helsing, actually. Love is the answer. Except for the followers of the Christ whom I am commanded to turn into my dark army of Satan. And I totally don't worship Satan, I just think we should listen to both sides. Hugs and kisses, may Van Helsing burn in the blood-red fires of hell throughout eternity, even though I consider him a close and dear friend, Vlad called Dracul."
