John Kerry: Actually, I Did Concede the Election, Before I Challenged It

Kerry at his vascillating, flip-flopping, have-it-both-ways worst here, as he essentially challenges the results of the election and calls Bush illegitimate, without having the huevos to do so in a forthright manner.

I see no evidence of JK flip-flopping, calling Bush illegitimate or challenging the results of the election.
Its clear there were "issues" of various sorts in FL in '00 and its clear that there were issues in OH in '04. These issues need to be dealt with and not swept under the rug. JK lost this election. That was clear. And he has shown its clear to him by not only conceding the election on 11/03 but by the words he uses in the linked letter.

And as I'll keep saying till the liberals (and a few conservatives) actually read the Constitution, IT'S NOT THE US CONGRESS'S BUSINESS.
Read Article 2, Clause 2. The state legislature determines the manner in which electors are chosen.

Not the state Supreme court.
Not the US Supreme Court.
And Not Congress.

Is it to much to ask for the Dems to actually read and follow the Constitution?

Bush would look tough if he publicly called Kerry on this in tones of uttermost derision. He should deride him for undercutting good order and then deride him for being a sore loser, and finish by saying what we're all thinking, that Kerry's just lame. Lame.

I've noticed that Bush doesn't do the counter-attacks that we think he should.

Probably the 'let them have all the rope they want' strategy.

Posted by: lauraw on January 7, 2005 02:48 PM

And that strategy has worked wonderfully. At present I believe that the Democratic party has succeded in obtaining enough rope to hang not only themselves, but everyone who has ever registered democrat as well.

As much as I believe Kerry would have been a poor president, I do wish that the Dems would follow his lead and concede Gracefully as he did.

HD,

Exactly right.

Somebody should write a book about the greatest drinking stories of O'Toole, Burton, Harris, and Caine. One of my faves was Richard Harris went on a six week bender in the South of France without telling wifey. Upon return, she's screaming, and he simply replied "why didn't you pay the ransom"?
