Klein's arguably a garden variety moron, but a minor slip of the lip like this is news because of the reaction to it.

Which, well, I find entertaining. But it doesn't change my opinion of Klein, for better or for worse.

Oh, and to Steve M's comment, aside from its understandable preferences in presidential candidates and wars on terror, I don't find Ace o' Spades to be properly classified as "right wing", just a good daily visit. But that could just be me.

Has Klein been writing this stuff or just saying it? I can't imagine someone who's stupid and maladroit enough to continually write such foot-in-the-mouth phrases.

I did a double-take when I flipped to CNN and heard them bragging about how CNN reporters were now flooding the zone.

(Fox was in it's Laci Peterson abyss or rut and I flip automatically whenever anything to do with Laci, Scott, Amber, Gloria comes up on the screen)

The MSM does seem to avoid nailing CNN when they say or do something stupid.

Now if a Fox reporter had slipped in discussing the NAACP's recent antics and said they "have really darkened their image"....the media would not be as forgiving.

CNNs ratings have been submerged for so long. Jon can be forgiven for thinking the tide has shifted with his arrival on the beach, sweeping all competitors before him like so much MSM flotsam. He's riding the crest of a renewed CNN dominance.

BFD! Patton is right, a minor slip of the lip like this is news only because of the reaction to it. We have made a fettish out of "being offended" for so long it seems normal to us now. No matter how momentus the rest of the days news may be if the MSM thinks somone should "be offended" by anything, no matter how silly, how unintended or how meaningless, we shall all hear about it. This all started as a part of the never ending Liberal search for weapons to beat conservatives with, and now we have become so "sensitized" to it that we wince like conditioned dogs whenever the Pavlovian Media Masters ring the bell. But you can only play this cheap trick so long before it doesn't work anymore.

What makes this worth the bandwidth is that Klein insulted the minions of the blogosphere so he is not permitted to put his foot in it.

I can't help but wonder what would happen if some mainstream journalist had a derogatory comment about blogs or Powerline or Reynolds and everyone just ignored it. Probably drive that journalist batshit.

I get your drift, but I'm not so much offended at the comment (really, I'm probably sociopathic, but though I feel sorry for everyone hurt by the quake and tsunami, I can't seem to get overly emotional about it for some reason) as bemused by the tone-deaf nature of Klein.

It's like he's a one man gaff-factory.
