Matrix Films Ripped Off From Obscure Writer?

Apparently so, according to this article, and a judge says she's owed damages.

The article also claims that elements of The Terminator films borrowed from her works-- although I don't see how anything in those movies isn't kinda obvious. Not obvious as in "bad" or "trite," but "obvious" in the sense that, hey, time-travelling and robots and the like are common story-elements.

Man, I'd like me a piece of that judgment.

Hmm. This is an interesting case, to say the least. I hadn't heard anything about it, and probably for the very reasons that the author suggested. :) Yet another one for Warren Murphy's upcoming book, "50 Years of Hollywood Rip-offs"
(Murphy would know: some of the characters from his Destroyer series have been some of the most memorable villains in movies in recent years, such as the unkillable adaptable androids that were used to such great effect in the Terminator series. At least Murphy gets credit for his creation of the characters in the Lethal Weapon movies...)

Does that mean we can blame her for "Matrix Revolutions"?

Worst. Movie. Ever.

Isn't that source "daghettotymze" mentioned the same one that had the article explaining how AIDS and crack were both CIA inventions to stomp out the black man? I'm wondering if the reason nobody has heard of the lawsuit might be that it might be a BS story. Sorry I don't have time to check it out now.

ACE...note this "correction" found only in the printer-friendly version of the article:

CORRECTION REGARDING PREVIOUS STORY

In reference to the recent article entitled "Mother of the Matrix Victorious," some information has been deemed misleading. Ms. Sophia Stewart has not yet won her case against Joel Silver, Time Warner and the Wachowski Bros. The decision on October 4th enabled Ms. Stewart to proceed with her case, as all attempts to have it dismissed were unsuccessful. Ms. Stewart's case will proceed through the Central District Court of California.

Gee, the MSM just can't get ANY story fact checked correctly, can they? Sheesh.

And since when does the FBI get involved with a civil copyright infringment suit?

And as some of the posters over there point out, the ideas of computer control of a fraudulent utopia are nothing new. She needs to show specific elements (like the pills) are in common. I gots this feeling that we've got a nutbar who just wants a piece of the action.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

This storyline was common as far back as the Golden Age of Science Fiction. I think I first read of a Virtual Reality world in a story that dated from 1940-something.

The only reason to see the Matrix would be to watch Priscilla, Queen of the Desert beat up Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.

Harlan Ellison already successfully sued Cameron over the Terminator movies and the way they drew on his story 'Soldier,' which is widely available and not obscure like virtually everything this woman has produced.

If you do a search on her name you'll see that this story is only getting traction in two places: fanboy sites and racebaiting sites. Everyplace else notes that this Stewart woman can't go more than two minutes without making an outrageous claim or saying something insane.

Important Message from Recent Convert to Christianity and Yet Super-Serious Christian Tuq'r Qarlson: Actually Muslims love Jesus, it's Trump and his neocons who hate him
Tucker Carlson Network
@TCNetwork

The people in charge [Jews, of course -- ace] don't want you to know this, but Muslims love Jesus.

Islam reveres Him as a major prophet and messenger of the Lord, believes He performed miracles, and states that He will return to Earth to defeat the Antichrist. That's why Donald Trump's painting depicting himself as the Son of God offended the president of Iran. It was an attack on his religion as well as Christianity.

Trump's trolling tweet was ill-advised, but Tucker is just lying when he claims the Christianity-hating President of Iran was "offended" by this.
He's one step away from announcing his official conversion to Islam. He literally never stops praising Islam. Well, he suddenly became Christian two years ago, there's not much stopping him from converting again.
You can track Tuq'r's official conversion to Islam with this Bingo card.

Politico is reporting that multiple people have abruptly resigned from Eric Swalwell's gubernatorial campaign: "Members of senior leadership have departed the campaign, including Courtni Pugh, a strategic adviser who served as Swalwell's top liaison to organized labor groups."

So the campaign is collapsing due to the truth of the sexual harassment allegations.

When I linked Donnie Iris's "Love is Like a Rock," everyone said they knew that one and that his other song (which I didn't know at all) Ah Leah! was huge in their area.
