10 Iraqi Parties Demand Postponement of Elections for 6 Months

I think this is a bad idea.

First of all, any postponement will be seen as a victory for the terrorists. Which of course it is.

Second, at some point it has to be the Iraqis fighting for Iraq. There must be a purely Iraqi face leading Iraq. We are committed to winning in Iraq, but this committment cannot be absolute. We cannot do for the Iraqis what they will not or cannot do for themselves indefinitely.

We have already paid a high price in blood and treasure to secure the future of Iraq. Our resources are not infinite.

Delay in the Afghani elections was a shrewd move. I read in the paper that the parties calling for delay are Sunni--this may be a tactical move on their part, as some of the Sunnis are taking a literal beating at the hands of the ING and US forces...

I agree that it will be viewed as a victory by the terrorists. However, if there is a way, combining military action and diplomacy, to make the coming elections more palatable to a larger segment of the society, notably among those who are causing so much of the trouble in Iraq, by pushing back the election then I think it needs to be seriously considered.

Aside from those who have come into Iraq from elsewhere, the desperate Sunni minority is about all Zarkawi's got going for him. If the Sunnis can be convinced that they will have a meaningful voice in the coming Government and that their rights will be protected from recriminations from the majority that they once oppressed, Zarkawi will be finished. He's desperate already, judging from his latest message to the Muslim Clerics.

If that takes more than a couple of months, as these things seem to do, then delaying the elections will be a hollow victory for Zarkawi, indeed.

The Sunnis have already chosen to go down with the good ship Baathist ,and we simply must not appease their rejectionsism. January or June it makes no difference.The Sunnis cannot win,EVER .The Shias have waited for almost 2 years for elections and elections they should have.What we really cannot afford is to reinforce the conspiracy theorists in their belief that WE will somehow back off on free elections. The Sunnis have made their bed and now they must lie in it.

Hi Ace,

Check out this article about the Ukrainian situation. This article provides facts and perspectives not covered elsewhere.
I knew the media wasn't telling us something major in their uniform and one-sided coverage of this affair.

ANOTHER LEFT WING ASSASSIN ATTEMPTS TO KILL TRUMP
If I understand this, the left-wing Democrat assassin attempted to get into the White House Correspondents Association dinner, and was stopped at the magnetometers, which detected his gun. I guess he pulled out the gun and was shot by Secret Service agents.
Erika Kirk was present.

Important Message from Recent Convert to Christianity and Yet Super-Serious Christian Tuq'r Qarlson: Actually Muslims love Jesus, it's Trump and his neocons who hate him
Tucker Carlson Network
@TCNetwork

The people in charge [Jews, of course -- ace] don't want you to know this, but Muslims love Jesus.

Islam reveres Him as a major prophet and messenger of the Lord, believes He performed miracles, and states that He will return to Earth to defeat the Antichrist. That's why Donald Trump's painting depicting himself as the Son of God offended the president of Iran. It was an attack on his religion as well as Christianity.

Trump's trolling tweet was ill-advised, but Tucker is just lying when he claims the Christianity-hating President of Iran was "offended" by this.
He's one step away from announcing his official conversion to Islam. He literally never stops praising Islam. Well, he suddenly became Christian two years ago, there's not much stopping him from converting again.
You can track Tuq'r's official conversion to Islam with this Bingo card.

@KFILE 21m

Politico is reporting that multiple people have abruptly resigned from Eric Swalwell's gubernatorial campaign: "Members of senior leadership have departed the campaign, including Courtni Pugh, a strategic adviser who served as Swalwell's top liaison to organized labor groups."

So the campaign is collapsing due to the truth of the sexual harassment allegations.
That hissing sound you hear is the air going out of the Swalwell campaign. UPDATE: No it wasn't, it was just Swalwell one-cheek-sneaking out a fart on camera

This is super-obscure and I only barely remember it. Given that, I'll give you the hint that it's by the Red Rocker.

Oh, but then, you never were afraid
Of anything that you've left behind
Oh, but it's alright with me now

Now twenty people will tell me it's not obscure, it was huge in their hometown and played at their prom. That's how it usually goes. When I linked Donnie Iris's "Love is Like a Rock," everyone said they knew that one and that his other song (which I didn't know at all) Ah Leah! was huge in their area.
