« Dan Rather Now Using Fake Emails For News Peg | Main | Reuters: "Random Violent Crime" Is the New Euphemism for Likely Islamism-Inspired Terrorism »

This Race Is As Wide-Open as the LLM & Kerry Need It To Be

Great point by an NRO reader.

Related: Howie Kurtz jumps on the New Liberal Conventional Wisdom, dubbing the polls not "fluid" but "volatile":

So Kerry not only has to catch up (to the degree these volatile polls show him behind)

"Volatile"? The big polls have consistently shown Bush ahead by 6-13 points. Even tossing out the 13, 12, and 11 point post-convention leads, there doesn't seem a lot of "volatility" in that persistent 6-8 point advantage.

The polls aren't just consistent with themselves; they're cross-consistent with each other.

But it's very "volatile." Gee, one day Bush is up by 13, the next day he has a paltry 8-point lead.

One reason I can think for them (whomever "them" are) to claim volatility in the polls: election fraud.

If they can claim that polls showed a close race, and then can claim voting irregularities -- well, you've got yourself another "not elected, selected" all buffed, shined, and ready to go.

And I do know for a fact that the DNC is sending out emails asking for donations to fund "questioning the vote" money chests. I know someone who donated to the Kerry campaign, and then received such an email solicitation. So, if nothing else, they are already planting the seed in the public mind that this election process is corrupt and will need to be contested. (I've seen elsewhere where the fact of this donation solicitation was questioned.)

Think about that. Either the Democratic party truly believes that the election process in America is corrupted, or they think it is a useful political ploy.

I think it behooves us all to launch an independent investigation into the election process, so that it cannot be used as a political ploy.

If it turns out to be true, we need to know about it. If it turns out to be a ploy, we need to know about that, too.
