Profile of Christopher Walken

I always wondered why I never heard about Walken dating. Turns out he's been married for 36 years.

And then there's this:

Finally, he's "conservative" in his life.

"I believe in saving money. I believe in having a house. I believe in keeping things clean. I believe in exercising," he says. "Slow and steady is a very good thing for me. It works for me."

Chris Walken? Actor... Dancer... Republican?

It couldn't be. Could it?

One thing's for sure. When we hear about those big Dem fundraisers, we never hear about Chris Walken.

The Dog That Didn't Bark Update: The FEC shows no political donations from a Christopher Walken or Chris Walken.

Of course, all the liberal actors are like virulent rashes on the system. Liberals actors are still donating to Dennis Kucinich, for crying out loud.

So the fact that the man who played superstar record producer Bruce Dickenson isn't in the system is... interesting. Tom Selleck and Bruce Willis also show no donations.

"Christopher Walken" isn't his original name; he was born Ronald Walken. But no actor or self-employed person named Ronald Walken living in California shows up in the system, either.

It's not proof. But it is interesting.

Update: No listing for his wife, either, under either her married or unmarried names.

Okay, that's enough of my Internet Detective-work. This is beginning to feel intrusive.

Why is it that most of the better/masculine/influential actors are on the right-wing of the political spectrum? Guys like Clint Eastwood, Arnold Shwarzeneggar, Chuck Norris, Christopher Walken, Bruce Willis, Charlton Heston, Tom Selleck, etc. The 'Left' is stuck with fruit-loops like Orlando Bloom and Heath Ledger.

I remember hearing an interview a few years ago where Pam Anderson said that Walken's body odor was repulsive. Great friggin' actor though.

Just don't call him "part eggplant".

C'mon Ace. You know Walken is a Conservative. I mean, how could he not be after having played a character who attempted to kill Martin Sheen?

Posted by: Senator PhilABuster on June 12, 2004 04:39 PM

"I believe in saving money."

That's pretty much a giveaway that he's a conservative.

Posted by: Cpl. Menno on June 12, 2004 04:57 PM

Not just Martin Sheen, but presidential candidate Martin Sheen.

Posted by: Nicholas Kronos on June 12, 2004 04:58 PM

i want to add drew carrey and clint eastwood to the "right wing actor" brigade, they're both libertarians.

talk about the "masculine" actors, could you see the libertarians running clint eastwood for president? there's a surefire way to gain some attention for a third party.

Posted by: francisthegreat on June 12, 2004 05:26 PM

The only way to make third parties viable is to work candidates into very small local politics where the people can get to know them. Then they can work their ways up to higher offices gradually after building personal support.

I thought Walken lived in NYC. Get back to googling (or stalking, if you prefer).

Posted by: Melissa on June 12, 2004 08:45 PM

No "Walkens" come up in the system at all, whether NYC or LA.

There's a Seattle "Ron Walken," but I don't think our guy lives in Seattle.

Posted by: ace on June 12, 2004 08:53 PM

Don't forget, Shannon Doherty is also a republican. And as tough as Willis, Ahnuld, et al, are, she could probably kick all of their asses. Walken's too.

Don't tell Wonkette about this. She might raise questions about Grandaddy's gold watch.

Tomorrow is March 25th, "Tolkien Reading Day," because March 25th is the day when the Ring is destroyed in the book. I think I'm going to start the Hobbit tomorrow and read all four books this time.
The only bad part of the trilogy are the Frodo/Sam chapters in The Two Towers. They're repetitive, slow, and mostly about the weather and terrain. But most everything else is good. Weirdly, the Frodo-Sam chapters in Return of the King are exciting and action-packed and among the best in the trilogy. (Though the chapters with everyone else in Return of the King get pretty slow again. Mostly people talking about marching towards war, and then marching towards war.)

[A]n asshole is somebody who looks at a painting of two toddlers doing something totally normal for toddlers and decides that it represents homosexuality and then thinks that publicly saying that is somehow edgy and clever. Instead it is doing what we accuse the Left of, that is sexualizing young children. If that describes you, own it.

Update: Reports say The Warthog has been deployed against men
Thanks to fd. Yeah, thanks a bunch, Chief.
Reports: The A-10 Thunderbolt, better known as The Warthog, has been unleashed on Iran
It's a heavily armored (the pilot sits in a titanim bathtub) slow-and-low loitering plane with a massive minigun firing depleted uranium rounds. The capability it brings is the ability to just fly big circles over the country waiting for a target to present itself. This is a weapons platform for eliminating vehicles and personnel. Its first task might be strafing the seas, clearing out any remaining attack boats and minelayers.
Update: My ballpark estimate for a reasonable cost for a wildlife overpass (suitably padded to sate the thirst of Democrat grifters) was $15 million. Turns out, that was a good estimate. That's how much it cost Denver to build one.
