As Garrett's closet goes, these aren't the most offensive things in it!
Halloween is a silly and inoffensive pseudo-holiday that nonetheless has taken over America (and other parts of the world!). The best part is watching the wee little ones in their costumes, not particularly sure of what the hell is going on, but confident that people giving them candy is never a bad thing!
It's far better than Kwanzaa or National Executive Assistant Day or the other fake holidays that are much less fun, and almost always include a bit of hectoring and mandatory kowtowing to the demographic being celebrated.
Of course, I am an advocate for John Moses Browning Day, so maybe I am not impartial!

For the second time in a row, something a little different!
"Libiamo ne' lieti calici" is usually shortened to "Libiamo," and it is one of the great and popular arias in operatic history. The opera -- La Traviata -- which means "The Wayward," or "The Wayward Woman," was written by a guy named Joe Green, and with that pedestrian a name, of course he is going to write about drinking!
