Poetry about flames? Dude...

I don't know Ace...if Lara Flynn Boyle doesn't make a reappearance soon, you may be well on your way to an "outing" by Rusty Shackleford.

Yeah, we like Lara. Or did your girlfriend make you takedown her pic? And put up the poem? And now Prince Charley? Get a grip Ace.

Actually, the poem is cool. And the painting. I guess you're, how shall we say, "testing the limits"?

I took down the pic for several reasons.

For one, it had been up there for more than a week, which is a long time.

For another, my female readers were starting to find the joke getting old.

For a third, some of my readers noted that the picture wasn't precisely work-safe. It wasn't obscene, but then, it wasn't the sort of picture you'd want on your computer as a boss or overly-sensitive co-worker walked by.

The painting was actually inspired by the poem, and I learned of the poem originally through the painting. It's one of the few modern paintings I actually like. I know it's one of the few paintings in the Met or MOMA (forget which) I remember at all.

So, the painting turned me on to William Carlos Williams. It's a package deal.

Ain't nothing wrong with posting poetry. And you could do worse than WCW.
