Why the hell are Muslims going to a Catholic school in the first place? Can you imagine Christians trying to go to a madrassa in Pakistan, and try to demand that they teach the Bible instead of the Koran. They'd be slaughtered by RoPers in seconds.

I'd have to look around for the link, but I saw this story elsewhere... with the added note that GB's only Muslim school was closed down recently because it was doing a lousy job.

Isn't that the rub?!? Do they think it's the building that made it superior (to the Muslim school)? I got a thought - turn the US Islamic, and we would be as ass-backward as the middle east.

Maybe we could take up a collection for a reprinting of the King James Bible for the arab students, you know, to make them more comfortable with the Catholic school. For example:

They went to a Catholic school with the intent the guy expressed: take it over ... once they had sufficient numbers, of course. What else is new?

The original King James bible contained the Apocrypha and so was not "too short" for Catholics to use.

The fact that it had anti-Catholic slurs in the introduction (referring to a "Man of Sin" that was universally understood to be the pope) was a bigger problem.

Just how Islamic are these Scottish Muslims? Saying the Lord's Prayer and attending Mass should qualify the kids for apostate status; which is pretty much a death sentence if I remember correctly.

I don't know what the norm is at Catholic schools, but I know of a Catholic school in my area which accepts people of any religion. Students don't have to attend mass or say prayers or anything like that.

Actually Catholic schools are generally regarded as sources of a good education (in things like math, science, English etc), whereas Islam can make no such boast.

Leave things as they are = continue to produce employable students (regardless of ethnicity or religion)

vs

Change to a muslim school = produce students employable only as mullahs.

Hmm, tough choice.....

Is this school managed and staffed by a teaching order of nuns or monks? Or is it entirely staffed by laity? I'd hate to see my eighth grade teacher, Sister Mary Camilla, aka "the Gorilla," have to disassemble a few mullahs to get the point across that teaching is a vocation, not just a job, to those who wear the habit or frock.
