Most Biased/Liberal Media Quotes of 2005

MRC's annual "awards" presentation.

Boy, that Brian Williams is really coming on strong, isn't he?

Thanks to Brad.

I've just spent about a half hour reviewing these gems, and I feel stupider for having watched them.

"Andrea, what would it all matter if proven true?"

Uh, because it means he's a proven unrepentant "Death to America!" type guy who's about to get an atom bomb. Does that matter enough to you, Bri?

"Someone brought up today the first several U.S. Presidents were certainly revolutionaries and might have been called terrorists at the time by the British Crown, after all."

The founding fathers didn't strap dynamite to Paul Revere and have him blow himself up at Haymarket just to take out a few Brits. Ahmadnejad and his cohorts deliberately target civilians, specifically Jews and Americans, and dream of finishing Hitler's final solution. Plus, even if the founders were civilian-killing terrorists -- an obtuse and idiotic idea -- they didn't have atom bombs. Atom bombs, Bri. Think big, dude. There's gotta be a brain under all that hair.

One of my favorite links: Iranians expressing their desire to wipe all Americans and Jews, but expressed in dance!

I posted a link to this list at Polipundit a few days ago along with my favorite, from Katie Couric.

I am not going to look it up to quote verbatim, but it was a comment she made on Today about gas prices being so high that she had to take out a loan to fill her minivan. MRC then noted that she made about 15 million dollars (or some similar figure) each year.

It’s like he [President Bush] stuck a broomstick in his [FDR’s] wheelchair wheels."

— Newsweek’s Jon Meacham on MSNBC’s Imus in the Morning May 9, discussing Bush’s criticism of Roosevelt’s Yalta deal with Stalin on post-war Europe.
-----------------------

Uh... does anyone care that Bush did, in fact, make an extremely sharp (and stupid IMO) criticism about Yalta?

I mean the broomstick in the wheels comment is a typical MSM airhead personalization of a matter of historical world impact, but it's not really Bush-bashing, as much as noting that Bush was bashing US history.

Extraordinary thing Bush said, BTW. Does he really imagine the US deal with Uzbekistan is going to look good in the future, or that it looks good now?!?

I think one can defend some US deals with devils, but Bush is wanting to claim a departure from that, while hypocritically having such deals AT THE SAME TIME.

Imagine if the MSM had pointed THAT out!

Does Katie Couric make too much money? We need a congressional inquiry. She should have to testify just like those oil execs. The media needs to ask hard questions.

'Cuz, you know, how much is enough?

What a bunch of tools

By that I mean Williams and Couric.

I dunno, I think "kill all the black babies" was worse than all of those.

Posted by: scarshapedstar on January 4, 2006 01:30 AM

And, speaking as one who lives 20 miles north of New Orleans, I don't even see how this one made the list.

"If the majority of the hardest hit victims of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans were white people, they would not have gone for days without food and water, forcing many to steal for mere survival. Their bodies would not have been left to float in putrid water....We’ve repeatedly given tax cuts to the wealthiest and left our most vulnerable American citizens to basically fend for themselves....The President has put himself at risk by visiting the troops in Iraq, but didn’t venture anywhere near the Superdome or the convention center, where thousands of victims, mostly black and poor, needed to see that he gave a damn."

Ask anyone here and they'll tell you the same. Are we all America-haters?

Posted by: scarshapedstar on January 4, 2006 01:31 AM

I dunno, I think "kill all the black babies" was worse than all of those.

Nicely taken completely out of context. Even Kevin Drum said that was an unreasonable interpretation.

Posted by: geoff on January 4, 2006 01:33 AM

Are we all America-haters?

Since the real stats came in, it turns out that whites died at a disproportionate rate, not blacks, and that poor people were not selectively victimized. So the racial angle was complete crap from Day 1.

The fact that you were saying the same thing so ingenuously means that, yes, you were America haters. Here's your sign.

Important Message from Recent Convert to Christianity and Yet Super-Serious Christian Tuq'r Qarlson: Actually Muslims love Jesus, it's Trump and his neocons who hate him
Tucker Carlson Network
@TCNetwork

The people in charge [Jews, of course -- ace] don't want you to know this, but Muslims love Jesus.

Islam reveres Him as a major prophet and messenger of the Lord, believes He performed miracles, and states that He will return to Earth to defeat the Antichrist. That's why Donald Trump's painting depicting himself as the Son of God offended the president of Iran. It was an attack on his religion as well as Christianity.

Trump's trolling tweet was ill-advised, but Tucker is just lying when he claims the Christianity-hating President of Iran was "offended" by this.
He's one step away from announcing his official conversion to Islam. He literally never stops praising Islam. Well, he suddenly became Christian two years ago, there's not much stopping him from converting again.
You can track Tuq'r's official conversion to Islam with this Bingo card.

Politico is reporting that multiple people have abruptly resigned from Eric Swalwell's gubernatorial campaign: "Members of senior leadership have departed the campaign, including Courtni Pugh, a strategic adviser who served as Swalwell's top liaison to organized labor groups."

So the campaign is collapsing due to the truth of the sexual harassment allegations.
That hissing sound you hear is the air going out of the Swalwell campaign. UPDATE: No it wasn't, it was just Swalwell one-cheek-sneaking out a fart on camera
