Interesting...they're concerned that immigrants aren't truthful about their "oath to democracy", but think they will be truthful on some written quiz? I guess weeding the dumb ones out is better than nothing at all.

I lived in BW for over 4 years, and if I recall correctly it has the highest Muslim population in Germany. I never saw a lot of tension between the Mulsims (Turks, mostly) and the Germans, but US soldiers often had problems at dance clubs and such. Turkish ladies didn't seem to mind US soldiers, and this, surprisingly enough, seemed to make the young Turkish gentlemen upset.

Most of my German friends were of the upper classes, and wouldn't admit to any feelings of intolorence (although they'd admit that Turks were strongly discriminated against in the past). Most blue-collar workers I talked to were more upset that most of their money was going to the former East Germany, and didn't say much about the Turks.

The question is a good start. It's simply amazing how many Muslims genuinely believe the attacks of September 11, 2001, were carried out by the CIA/MOSSAD/Zionists to frame Muslims. Effing ridiculous.

I do feel sorry for Turks in Germany, having to deal with anti-Turkish racism as well as being torn between two cultures. I think minorities in the US have it easier: it's much more acceptable for someone to become "whitewashed." It may be condemned but the person would be in very good company.
