Transit Strike Leader Compares Strikers To Rosa Parks

More bad PR:

Bloomberg again reminded residents that the strike is illegal under state law. Toussaint countered that the Metropolitan Transportation Authority had broken the law by including pensions in negotiations.

He said he was doing what it takes to protect his more than 33,000 members.

“Had Rosa Parks answered the call of the law instead of the higher call of justice, many of us who are now driving the bus would still be in the back of the bus,” he said.

Criticized for suggesting his cause was the same as Rosa Parks, he then backpedaled and said that he had mispoken. "I meant Jesus," he said. "That's why we're doing this at Christmas, you know."

Meanwhile... The Rosa Parks Brigade is destroying New York retail businesses during the crucial Christmas season.

What a dummy. IF he was smart he would compare them to Cindy The Peace Mom, who is morally powerful than Rosa Parks, MLK and Jesus combined.

More poetry.

The Raving

Once upon a morning dreary, while I pondered weak and weary
The many blocks I had to walk till I reached my workplace door
While I trodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a slapping
As of someone angrily snapping, snapping at a union whore
“’Tis some protestor,” I muttered, “Slapping at some union whore”
Only this and nothing more

Ah, distinctly I remember, it was in the bleak December
And each separate union member wrought havoc across the city shores
Eagerly I wished them sorrow, vainly I had sought to borrow
My neighbors car – I’ll return it tomorrow; tomorrow back to your door
For the sick and twisted union whom the city had made sore
Had kept me from my workplace door

And the silken sad uncertain rustling of the mayor’s mindless blustering
Chilled me – filled me with a knowledge this guy was a mindless bore
So that now, to still the beating of my heart I stood repating
“’Tis some protester slapping down a union whore”
Some angry protester slapping down a union whore
This it is, and nothing more

Presently my anger grew stronger, hesitating then no longer
“Sir,” said I “or madam, truly your forgiveness I implore”
But the fact is, I was trudging and your anger I’m not judging
And so loudly you were slapping, slapping upon that union whore
That I couldn’t help but hear and in fact, I cried and swore
I’d love to join you in your anti-union war

I joined him in his angry tirade, finding peace in this angry crusade
Laughing, crying, weeping as we beat down this union whore
“Wretch,” I cried, “thy Boss hath lent thee – with these placards he hath
Sent thee and now! – watch as we beat you senseless with your own sick lore
Work, o work and we no longer, no longer will you hear our roar
Just press your button and take me to my workplace door!

And the union thug, never getting, still is sitting, still is sitting
On the pallid seat of power just inside the subway door
And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon that is dreaming
And the money o’er him streaming sends our city into the deficit floor
And my wallet from out that shadow lies sad and empty on that floor
Shall be lifted – nevermore!

They compared Tookie Fkn Williams to Rosa Parks, too.

Posted by: on December 22, 2005 10:53 AM

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Rosa Parks only ride on moving buses?

Posted by: utron on December 22, 2005 10:58 AM

Wait, I don't get it, what's wrong with comparing a labor dispute with Rosa Parks. Jesse Jackson's been comparing everything to Selma or Rosa for years.

Posted by: joeindc44 on December 22, 2005 11:00 AM

Excuse me, but where in the name of all that is holy does this dingbat get the idea that pensions are SACRED? If he had to go out and get a job that actually produced something, we'd probably have one more homeless mouth to suck off the tit of government giveaways.

The fact that he has a pension at all should please him. The fact he thinks the public owes it to him makes me puke.

Posted by: Carlos on December 22, 2005 11:02 AM

Why hasn't anyone else seen the inhumanity before now??

Bus drivers of all races being paid the pathetic sum of 62,000 a year to perform the grinding labor of driving around in circles is EXACTLY the same thing as black passengers being forced to sit in the back of the bus.

And I know Rosa would not hesitate to agree. But sadly she just passed away so we must take my word for it. I'm sure Jesse and Al would back me up on that.

Color me Rosa Parks!
I refused to give my parking space to a white couple last night at the mall.

P.S. the rumor is that the strike is about to end. I hope not. How much you want to bet that the fines will be waived by toothless RINO mayor, the AG running for governor, and the RINO governor?

Posted by: Bart on December 22, 2005 11:14 AM

slublog - that was beautiful.

Posted by: marc on December 22, 2005 11:25 AM

Yeah right - the strikers are Rosa Parks! How insulting to the memory of a good woman! The strikers are nothing more nor less than co-conspirators and/or dupes of greedy union thugs with no conscience or morality.

I don't get it. My wife has refused to give up her back seat ever since our honeymoon, and nobody's calling her a hero.

Certainly not me.

Posted by: Zorachus on December 22, 2005 11:49 AM

Drudge is reporting the strike is over.

More great news: We are now allowed to carry screw-drivers and scissors aboard an airplane.

This is particularly good for me because I like to fix small aplliances and wrap Christmas presents while flying.

Posted by: Bart on December 22, 2005 03:24 PM

What a load of horse hooie the strikers are a bunch of selfish self centered union thugs holding a whole city hostage for their own needs its time to break up these crooked unions

Few people remember that Norm MacDonald began his career as a ventriloquist
MacDonald's old partner Adam Egot revealed that MacDonald repurposed a bit with one of his ventriloquist dolls -- that he was a "bad guy" who "didn't believe the Holocaust happened" -- for the Norm MacDonald show, in which he claimed Egot didn't believe in the Holocaust.
Funniest thing I've read about the Virginia mess. Back when they were hustling the referendum through the assembly both Senators, Warner and Kaine, advised them to go slow and play by the rules. Louise Lucas said she respected them but didn't need advice from the "cuck chair" in the corner. The gerrymandering was overturned and Louise is heading for the big house. Edward G. Robinson voice "where's your cuck now?"

-- reportedly a genuine comment offered by a "senior Labour source"
Correction: I wrote that Labour is losing 88% (now 87%) of the seats it is "defending." I think that's wrong. The right way to say it is the seats they are contesting -- that is, they don't necessarily already hold these seats, but they have put up a candidate to run for the seat. It's still very bad but not as bad as losing 87% of the seats they already held.

🚨ED MILIBAND [a Minister in Starmer's government] SAYS KEIR STARMER WILL RESIGN AS PRIME MINISTER

He has reportedly reassured Labour MP's that Starmer will be resigning following the disastrous results tonight

It's over
"The end of the two party system in the UK" as first the Fake Conservatives and now Labour chooses political suicide rather than simply STOPPING THE INVASION
Incidentally, the only reason this didn't already happen in the US is because of the Very Bad Orange Man (who is right on 85% of all policy calls and extremely, existentially right on 15% of them)
No political party that is NOT also a doomsday religious cult would EVER choose a cataclysmic loss -- and possible extinction as a party -- to support a toxically unpopular favoritism of NON-CITIZEN ILLEGAL MIGRANTS over actual citizen voters.

Only a cult does this.
Now they've lost 84%.
Annunziata Rees-Mogg
@zatzi
If this continues Labour loses 2,148 seats tonight.

That is much worse than the worst case predictions I’ve seen.

Cataclysmic

Update: They've now lost 88% of the seats they're defending. As I mentioned earlier, I think I heard that London will not bail them out, as many of those Labour seats will probably flip to "Muslim Independent" or Green. Detroit's 5am vote will not save them.
Yup, Labour is losing 80% of its seats...
The British Patriot
@TheBritLad

🚨 BREAKING: Labour have lost 80% of all seats contested as of 2:25 AM.<
br> If this continues, Keir Starmer will be out of office next week.

Reform has surged and projected to pick up between 1700-2100 seats.

Wow, up to 1700-2100 seats. It's not incredible that this is happening. It's incredible that the Davos crowd is so absolutely determined to privilege Muslim "migrants" over the actual native population who elects them, no matter how loudly the natives scream that they want to be prioritized, that they will gladly self-extinguish as a party rather than simply representing the interests of their own voters. Astonishing.
Remember, when they call other people "cultists" -- they are the ones so imprisoned in their social reinforcement and discipline bubbles that they will choose political death rather than dare upset the Karen Enforcement Officers of their cult.
Update: Now they've lost 83% of the seats they were defending.
(((Dan Hodges)))
@DPJHodges

Reform are basically wiping Labour out in the North. It's not a defeat. It's not even a rout. Labour are simply ceasing to exist.

Nick Lowles
@lowles_nick

Tonight’s results are calamitous for Labour. Not just for Keir Starmer's leadership, but for the very future of the party
STARMERGEDDON: In early returns, Reform gains 135 seats, Labour loses 90, the Fake Conservatives lose 36 (and I didn't even know they could fall any further), the Lib Dems lose 4, and the Greens gain 6. Note that the only other party gaining seats is the Greens and they're only gaining a handful of seats.
Update: Reform now up 145, Labour down 98.
Labour projected to lose Wales -- where they've ruled for 27 years.
Fulton County Georgia just discovered 400 boxes of ballots for Labour
Update: REF +156, LAB -107, CON -45
Brutal: In four out of five council seats where Labour is defending, they've lost. 80%.
I'm sure it's not this simple, but Reform is straight taking Labour's and the "Conservatives'" seats. They've lost almost exactly what Reform gained. If understand this right (and warning, I probably don't), all of London's council seats are up for election, and Labour might lose hugely there, as their old voters abandon them for Reform, Muslim Indenpendents, and the Greens.
REF +190, LAB -134, CON -56.
Updates on the Labour collapse in council elections -- which wags are calling #Starmergeddon -- from Beege Welborne. There are about 5000 seats up for grabs, Labour is expected to lose 1,800, Reform will probably gain 1,580, up from... zero. So this would be more than that.
People claim that while Labour has adopted the Sharia Agenda to appeal to the million Muslims it allowed to migrate to the country, those voters are ditching Labour to vote for the Muslim Independent Party or the Greens. Delicious. This shadenfreude is going straight to my thighs.
Oh, and if Starmer loses about as badly as expected, Labour will toss him out of a window Braveheart style and replace him. He will announce he is resigning to spend more time with his Gay Ukrainian Male Prostitutes.
Media bias and senationalism are as old as, well, the media:

That was written by Denny O'Neill and illustrated by, get this, Frank Miller. Editor to the Stars Jim Shooter was in charge at the time.
I always thought the gag was original to the comic book, but in fact the "Threat or Menace" headline was a satirical joke about media bias and sensationalism for a long while. The Harvard Lampoon used it in a parody of Life magazine: "Flying Saucers: Threat or Menace?"
