American Troops "Descecrate" Two Taliban Bodies By Burning Them

They say the bodies had begun to decompose and burning them was the most hygenic manner of disposal.

Apparently, though, they used the opportunity for some psyops:

Footage showed two US soldiers reading two messages from a notebook that they said had earlier been broadcast. "Attention Taliban you are cowardly dogs," read the first soldier, identified as psyops specialist Sargeant Jim Baker.
"You allowed your fighters to be laid down facing west and burnt. You are too scared to retrieve their bodies. This just proves you are the lady boys we always believed you to be."

The other unidentified soldier read a second message, part of which said: "You attack and run away like women. You call yourself Talibs but you are a disgrace to the Muslim religion, and you bring shame upon your family. Come and fight like men instead of the cowardly dogs you are."

That bit is from Al Jazeera, which Bareknuckle Politics links, but I won't.

Because Bush is overspending and nominated a lawyer I don't like for the Supreme Court, I will seize on this to break with Bush. I cannot tell you how filled with "heart-ache" I am at this gob-smackingly vile action.

I call for a full investigation, a Congressional Amendment to the Defense Appropriation Bill stating clearly that rotting Taliban bodies will not be burned, but lovingly buried in full accordance with Muslim funerary rituals, and for Senator Wayne Allard to resign.

Why Wayne Allard? I don't know. I just get a bad vibe off him. He seems like the kind of guy who'd act like your "best friend" and then, when you're trying to pick up a chick, start undermining you by saying things like "Oh, he's an absolute prince to all his dozens illegitimate children. He lovingly calls them his 'Li'l Bastards.'"

Absolutely sickening and disgusting, and I expect -- nay, demand -- that the MSM covers this wall-to-wall for the next three weeks. Or at least until there's another hurricane they can pin on Karl Rove.

I'm just dissappointed that our troops didn't stuff their mouths full of Spam before giving them the 'ol torch.

I agree, Ace: what our soldiers did to those Taliban corpses was totally wrong.

They should have first cut the heads off the Talibanistas and put them on pikes before setting the bodies on fire.

And they should have used pig lard for an accelerant.

Ok, Ok, maybe the body burning (if not done for disposal of rotting bodies) was a bit over the line. I have no real problem investigating that (except it does seem to waste resources) to appease local population (not the terrorists).

But I don't understand why taunting the enemy is not "objectively evil."

I mean, WTF? We can not even make fun of the bad guys? Do we have to call them 'Sir' from now on?

I swear, I am turning more and more into a grumpy ol' conservative with each passing day I spend on the 'net.

What don't the Muslims find offensive? I'm in Kuwait now and was in Afghanistan for 3 years prior to that and if you think Muslim's give a rats ass about anything that might offend us (the infidels) you would be sadly mistaken.

According to the comments in the SIG report, the UN kicked in $2.5 billion and the budget was revised accordingly but wasn't published per request of the Interim Iraqi Government. A "working budget" was provided to the SIG, which they didn't accept as formally approved budget.

The report is frustratingly terse on this point - I'd like to see more detail on the revised budget, since it did not meet the transparency requirement.

I'm sure it's not this simple, but Reform is straight taking Labour's and the "Conservatives'" seats. They've lost almost exactly what Reform gained. If understand this right (and warning, I probably don't), all of London's council seats are up for election, and Labour might lose hugely there, as their old voters abandon them for Reform, Muslim Indenpendents, and the Greens.

People claim that while Labour has adopted the Sharia Agenda to appeal to the million Muslims it allowed to migrate to the country, those voters are ditching Labour to vote for the Muslim Independent Party or the Greens. Delicious. This shadenfreude is going straight to my thighs.
