I often find it interesting to listen to Dick Morris, but his predictions rarely bear fruit. I have posted this before (who knows where), but I like Jeb Bush (yes, yet another evil Bush! :) ) with Condi as running mate in 2008. She has as much as said that she is not qualified to run for president, since she has never run for anything! After being elected as a vice president, she removes that problem sufficiently. My point has been that anything which makes the Left even crazier helps conservatives. Another Bush nominee would explode a few heads. :) I do not know much about Jeb, but he does seem competent as governor of Florida. He always seems calm and collected. I have no idea if this is politically or personally possible, but it seems to me it would bother the lefties seriously. I, for one, like the sound of that!

Travelling in France this week, the French dailies grudgingly acknowledged the positive step represented by the Iraqi election. But the prejudice against any vindication of American policy is plain to see.

The number two article in one French daily was "5000 American soldiers classified as deserters" - that gives you some idea about the kind of stories that sell papers here.

I must say that on the whole they prefered an Iraq under Saddam to the current situation. Disgusting.

Ace, your argument's baloney. The moment Roe is gone, it becomes a non-issue. Focus shifts back to the details of actual restriction proposals, where the electorate is rather to the right of the Democratic party (though obviously to the left of total ban).

For one thing, most people have no idea just how permissive the Roe-Casey regime actually IS.

'Sides that correct me if I'm wrong, the swing vote won't be Miers, but the new judge that replaces Stevens.

The real Dick Morris was taken away by one of those little UFOs to find out further details about the upcoming HRC presidency.

And really it's not so much that I'm pro-Miers as much as that I'm anti-babbling-about-it until we actually get to the confirmation hearings and see what she's all about.

It was a good show. I like Morris, but he is hard to interview. He is pretty self-important and would rather just go on than take questions. Good work.

Fucking Neil Cavuto! I never liked him - that hair and all. Do you think Letterman would stand for a guest standing up "Sorry, Dave. Leno's expecting me?" Think not.

Time to go go to the mattresses. Blackball all Cavuto's guests. Make them choose. Be subtle though, if they do Cavuto, simply tell them you just can't slip them in right away, maybe sometime in the spring? After sweeps, maybe? Pretty soon he'll be crushed. No one knows. The only reliable votes right now are: Thomas, Scalia, against
Breyer, Souter, Ginsburg, Kennedy, Stevens, for
Meirs, Roberts, unknown

If either Roberts or Meirs votes to uphold Roe (and Casey), then Stevens' replacement won't make any difference whatsoever.

It's really irritating to think that GWB gets three (THREE!) picks, and yet there's a very strong possibility that Roe will stay put. It's the jurisprudential equivalent of herpes.
