Dick Morris on Hoist The Black Flag At 4PM ETDick Morris will be on today to discuss his ongoing efforts to recruit Condi Rice into the 2008 presidential election, and why he thinks we'll be wake up to President Hillary! Rodham in 2009 if he's unsuccessful. At Rightalk at 4:05 Eastern Time. Call in at 1 866 844 8255. posted by Ace at 03:48 PM
CommentsFantastic. I really like Dick Morris, he speaks his mind. He is knowledgable and refreshing. Am I gushing? btw Ace, the lineup on your show has been outta sight. I don't know how you do it, but you have been getting some pretty big guns to sit across the table. Free Ace Of Spades tee-shirts? Posted by: TheShadow on October 18, 2005 01:13 PM
I'm starting to notice a pattern here. You get Dick Morris as your guest. Wasn't it Steve Forbes last week? And you've had Jonah Goldberg and Michelle Malkin on, too? Has anybody noticed that Ace is in the big leagues now? Posted by: Phinn on October 18, 2005 01:23 PM
Hi All, I often find it interesting to listen to Dick Morris, but his predictions rarely bear fruit. I have posted this before (who knows where), but I like Jeb Bush (yes, yet another evil Bush! :) ) with Condi as running mate in 2008. She has as much as said that she is not qualified to run for president, since she has never run for anything! After being elected as a vice president, she removes that problem sufficiently. My point has been that anything which makes the Left even crazier helps conservatives. Another Bush nominee would explode a few heads. :) I do not know much about Jeb, but he does seem competent as governor of Florida. He always seems calm and collected. I have no idea if this is politically or personally possible, but it seems to me it would bother the lefties seriously. I, for one, like the sound of that! Skip the political. Compare 'whores'- a hooker 'round up' for the discerning John. Much better radio. Posted by: Ray Midge on October 18, 2005 01:58 PM
and talk about toe sucking, don't forget. Posted by: Master of None on October 18, 2005 03:53 PM
I predict neither will be nominated. Posted by: someone on October 18, 2005 03:54 PM
Travelling in France this week, the French dailies grudgingly acknowledged the positive step represented by the Iraqi election. But the prejudice against any vindication of American policy is plain to see. The number two article in one French daily was "5000 American soldiers classified as deserters" - that gives you some idea about the kind of stories that sell papers here. I must say that on the whole they prefered an Iraq under Saddam to the current situation. Disgusting. Posted by: flatlander on October 18, 2005 03:55 PM

Dammit, I need to be faster than this. All the foot jokes are taken. Oh well. The old Ace would have asked Morris about toe-sucking. You know, the Ace before Blogads and Paypal. It used to be about the music, man. Cheers, Posted by: Dave at Garfield Ridge on October 18, 2005 04:19 PM
Where's Tony Randall? Is Tony on standy? Alert! Posted by: Dr. Reo Symes on October 18, 2005 04:20 PM
Ace, your argument's baloney. The moment Roe is gone, it becomes a non-issue. Focus shifts back to the details of actual restriction proposals, where the electorate is rather to the right of the Democratic party (though obviously to the left of total ban). Posted by: someone on October 18, 2005 04:23 PM
For one thing, most people have no idea just how permissive the Roe-Casey regime actually IS. Posted by: someone on October 18, 2005 04:25 PM
'Sides that correct me if I'm wrong, the swing vote won't be Miers, but the new judge that replaces Stevens. Posted by: JFH on October 18, 2005 04:27 PM
The real Dick Morris was taken away by one of those little UFOs to find out further details about the upcoming HRC presidency. Ace got stuck with an alien impostor whose universal voice mimicker was on the fritz. Posted by: Nicholas Kronos on October 18, 2005 04:31 PM

john and Monty must be going nuts I can't listen to the show right now! What is being said?!? Posted by: Monty on October 18, 2005 04:50 PM
All the non-Morris stuff is Miers-related. Heh heh. Posted by: someone on October 18, 2005 04:53 PM
Dick Morris is really self-important, ain't he? Posted by: JFH on October 18, 2005 04:55 PM
Oh. Well, I only said I'd dock Ace if he posted about Miers. He's got to vent about it someplace, I guess. And since my firewall prohibits me from listening, at least I can lurk in the McDonald's thread for non-Miers goodness. And really it's not so much that I'm pro-Miers as much as that I'm anti-babbling-about-it until we actually get to the confirmation hearings and see what she's all about. Posted by: Monty on October 18, 2005 04:56 PM
Nice job dealing with that curveball. I half-expected an on-air Ace anxiety breakdown. Posted by: someone on October 18, 2005 05:00 PM
It was a good show. I like Morris, but he is hard to interview. He is pretty self-important and would rather just go on than take questions. Good work. Posted by: Silk on October 18, 2005 05:02 PM
Fucking Neil Cavuto! I never liked him - that hair and all. Do you think Letterman would stand for a guest standing up "Sorry, Dave. Leno's expecting me?" Think not. Time to go go to the mattresses. Blackball all Cavuto's guests. Make them choose. Be subtle though, if they do Cavuto, simply tell them you just can't slip them in right away, maybe sometime in the spring? After sweeps, maybe? Pretty soon he'll be crushed. Cavuto will never eat lunch in this town again. Posted by: Dr. Reo Symes on October 18, 2005 05:07 PM
I'll gladly pay you tomorrow for a burger today. Posted by: O Willis on October 18, 2005 05:10 PM
"'Sides that correct me if I'm wrong, the swing vote won't be Miers, but the new judge that replaces Stevens." No one knows. The only reliable votes right now are: Thomas, Scalia, against If either Roberts or Meirs votes to uphold Roe (and Casey), then Stevens' replacement won't make any difference whatsoever. It's really irritating to think that GWB gets three (THREE!) picks, and yet there's a very strong possibility that Roe will stay put. It's the jurisprudential equivalent of herpes. "It's f**king f**ked."
-- reportedly a genuine comment offered by a "senior Labour source" Correction: I wrote that Labour is losing 88% (now 87%) of the seats it is "defending." I think that's wrong. The right way to say it is the seats they are contesting -- that is, they don't necessarily already hold these seats, but they have put up a candidate to run for the seat. It's still very bad but not as bad as losing 87% of the seats they already held. Basil the Great
"The end of the two party system in the UK" as first the Fake Conservatives and now Labour chooses political suicide rather than simply STOPPING THE INVASION
Incidentally, the only reason this didn't already happen in the US is because of the Very Bad Orange Man (who is right on 85% of all policy calls and extremely, existentially right on 15% of them)
No political party that is NOT also a doomsday religious cult would EVER choose a cataclysmic loss -- and possible extinction as a party -- to support a toxically unpopular favoritism of NON-CITIZEN ILLEGAL MIGRANTS over actual citizen voters.
Only a cult does this.
Now they've lost 84%.
Annunziata Rees-Mogg Update: They've now lost 88% of the seats they're defending. As I mentioned earlier, I think I heard that London will not bail them out, as many of those Labour seats will probably flip to "Muslim Independent" or Green. Detroit's 5am vote will not save them.
Yup, Labour is losing 80% of its seats...
The British Patriot Wow, up to 1700-2100 seats. It's not incredible that this is happening. It's incredible that the Davos crowd is so absolutely determined to privilege Muslim "migrants" over the actual native population who elects them, no matter how loudly the natives scream that they want to be prioritized, that they will gladly self-extinguish as a party rather than simply representing the interests of their own voters. Astonishing. Remember, when they call other people "cultists" -- they are the ones so imprisoned in their social reinforcement and discipline bubbles that they will choose political death rather than dare upset the Karen Enforcement Officers of their cult. Update: Now they've lost 83% of the seats they were defending. (((Dan Hodges))) Nick Lowles
STARMERGEDDON: In early returns, Reform gains 135 seats, Labour loses 90, the Fake Conservatives lose 36 (and I didn't even know they could fall any further), the Lib Dems lose 4, and the Greens gain 6. Note that the only other party gaining seats is the Greens and they're only gaining a handful of seats.
Update: Reform now up 145, Labour down 98. Labour projected to lose Wales -- where they've ruled for 27 years. Fulton County Georgia just discovered 400 boxes of ballots for Labour Update: REF +156, LAB -107, CON -45 Brutal: In four out of five council seats where Labour is defending, they've lost. 80%. I'm sure it's not this simple, but Reform is straight taking Labour's and the "Conservatives'" seats. They've lost almost exactly what Reform gained. If understand this right (and warning, I probably don't), all of London's council seats are up for election, and Labour might lose hugely there, as their old voters abandon them for Reform, Muslim Indenpendents, and the Greens. REF +190, LAB -134, CON -56.
Updates on the Labour collapse in council elections -- which wags are calling #Starmergeddon -- from Beege Welborne. There are about 5000 seats up for grabs, Labour is expected to lose 1,800, Reform will probably gain 1,580, up from... zero. So this would be more than that.
People claim that while Labour has adopted the Sharia Agenda to appeal to the million Muslims it allowed to migrate to the country, those voters are ditching Labour to vote for the Muslim Independent Party or the Greens. Delicious. This shadenfreude is going straight to my thighs. Oh, and if Starmer loses about as badly as expected, Labour will toss him out of a window Braveheart style and replace him. He will announce he is resigning to spend more time with his Gay Ukrainian Male Prostitutes.
Media bias and senationalism are as old as, well, the media:
![]() That was written by Denny O'Neill and illustrated by, get this, Frank Miller. Editor to the Stars Jim Shooter was in charge at the time. I always thought the gag was original to the comic book, but in fact the "Threat or Menace" headline was a satirical joke about media bias and sensationalism for a long while. The Harvard Lampoon used it in a parody of Life magazine: "Flying Saucers: Threat or Menace?"
