Ever wanted your own sentry gun?

I see the beginnings of a very cool burglar alarm system!

Ace, you forgot to mention that it's useful for torturing your little brother, a neighbor's pet, or your buddy Dave at Garfield Ridge.

It's actually HC that posted this.

Needs a stronger tri-pod if they're going to use a real gun.

I ran across those things all the time in Half-Life.
Use the .357 Magnum or the crossbow.

Ace's wife's name is Argyle.

Argyle of Spades?

Looks like it takes the new Euro armor piercing round, the 5.7 x 28. Cool. That funky magazine on top holds about fifty rounds oriented east to west, if I'm not mistaken. It'll be pointing through the ceiling by the third shot though.

Reminds me of what I've read about red Euro-terrorists on the back of motorcycles (back in the red Euro-terrorist days) trying to commit assassinations with russian machine pistols. They always missed because they couldn't keep the things from climbing across the sky.

Even if the tripod were secured down, that pinch bolt on the pan-head isn't going to hold. I'll take a dozen.

Damn, I'm waxing nostaligic: when I saw the picture of the two brothers (the washout made their shirts look like pink polos), I immediately thought of 1986 or so. My brother's best friend's dad, who worked on the Phalanx system as a civilian engineer, who still can't talk about it today, showed us how to properly TP that asshole kid's house from down the street at 4AM (wet it up in buckets and add skunk scent from the House of Humor) and, then, the old man kicked our asses on BilesToad on the Apple IIE 'til 6AM. Funny, his wife wasn't even pissed about our behavior on a school night. Maybe that was because we fixed her '66 Beetle on which he had the distributer off by 180 degrees and the spark gap way past tolerance. He had a big head; couldn't see all the little stuff. Why should he have to? He got to blow stuff up real good, eh.

Sigh, where's my waterballoon launcher?

Speaking of Dave at Garfield Ridge, he already posted this on September 23, 2005 at 01:55 PM.

I hate it when my war porn is already dried and crusty.

I don't think you can use this as part of a burglar "alarm" system. Set guns are illegal in most municipalities.

Posted by: OregonMuse on September 29, 2005 12:46 PM

Yeah, spring guns, commonly used for anti-poaching systems, have been illegal for well over a hundred years.

"Reminds me of what I've read about red Euro-terrorists on the back of motorcycles (back in the red Euro-terrorist days) trying to commit assassinations with russian machine pistols. They always missed because they couldn't keep the things from climbing across the sky."

I had a chance to shoot a Russian machine pistol last weekend (9mm Makarov, with a 20 round staggered magazine that fit completely inside a rather fat grip frame) and the above comment is right on. With its holster/shoulder stock attached and firmly planted on the shoulder, with a 2-hand grip it was completely controllable at 10 yards or so. But firing one-handed you'd be a hazard to air navigation after about 5 rounds.

What is the UK Regime's plan for protecting the citizens from the savage criminals they've foisted on the populace? They offer NONE. They do, however, have a plan for protecting the savage criminals from the citizens: The citizens must STAY CALM and not get angry and not share videos of citizens being attacked by savage criminals.
The public keeps saying "protect us from the foreign savages you have imported against our wishes and over our objections" and the UK branch of The Regime keeps proposing plans to protect the foreign savages from the public. Soclose to what the public is demanding, just, you know, the complete opposite.
Just a thought: Maybe you wouldn't have to worry about the public attacking the savage criminals if you actually introduced a plan to protect the public from the savage criminals. Maybe they wouldn't feel as if it was necessary for them to protect the public through self-help.
