Massachusetts House To Vote On Ejecting Gay-Marriage SJC Justices?

A provision of the Massachusettes Constitution provides for the immediate ejections of "tyrannical judges," based on a vote in the House of Representatives.

Although such as vote has been blocked in the past, it may be going forward now.

Oh man, I'd love it LOVE IT if this were to happen.

Posted by: Megan on September 20, 2005 05:57 PM

Ace, you rock. I actually learned something there.

Posted by: arrmatey on September 20, 2005 06:01 PM

Awesome.

Posted by: someone on September 20, 2005 06:06 PM

I wouldn't get my hopes up... the Massachusetts House isn't exactly a bastion of conservatism.

Posted by: ace on September 20, 2005 06:09 PM

About time.

Will the code pinkos and leftards use the "what Adams REALLY meant was exactly the opposite of what it says" argument like they do with the 2nd amendment?

I like the idea of harrassing airborn messages.

Well who'dve thunk it, lesbian nerds.

Posted by: Iblis on September 20, 2005 06:46 PM

Hm. I'm sure I speak for us all when I'm wondering what Excitable Andy thinks of this. Just checked his blog and nothing yet. Just a note on his blog, though.

It sucks.

Bad.

He's just phoning it in. Posts a few short snippets, throws a few links out there and mostly just prints supportive emails.

Maybe we should start an Andrew Sullivan Quits Blogging Pool.

Posted by: Slublog on September 20, 2005 06:48 PM

Does this mean that ace would be able to get all that crazy blogmoney that Snivelling Sully is currrently getting?

Posted by: MH on September 20, 2005 07:06 PM

Only if he starts bitching about his stool quality.

Posted by: Iblis on September 20, 2005 07:08 PM

I think Goldstein's prediction has come to pass: Sullivan has basically become a Kos Diarist.

Posted by: Slublog on September 20, 2005 07:10 PM

Chimpy McHitlerburton and his puppet-master Rove are behind this attempt to deprive us of our equal rights! This is just a distraction from the occupation of Iraq and New Orleans. You redstate inbred nazi theocrats!*

*A preview of the inevitable liberal response if this vote actually goes through.

I think I'm channeling Cindy Sheehan.

I live in Massachusetts.
These judges have as much chance to be ousted as the Red Sox wining a World Series in the next 86 years.

And I do agree: Andy's blog does suck.

These judges have as much chance to be ousted as the Red Sox wining a World Series in the next 86 years.

So, is that a GOOD chance, or a BAD chance? Because they're still in first place, with 11 games to go.

Posted by: Dogstar on September 20, 2005 11:17 PM

It's a bad chance, Dogstar.
The Yankees will do the Sox what the Sox did to the Yanks last year.

My pick for the Series:
Cleveland vs. St. Louis
St. Louis wins in 5.

Who'd 'a thunk it? The Mass constitution gives more power to the people than the U.S. constitution! Thanks for catching this Ace.

Are these life appointments? The state where I live, every X number of years they appear on the ballot for a vote.

Posted by: on September 21, 2005 11:27 AM

I've lived in Massachusetts for most of the last 30 years.

Ousting the SJC judges? It will never f'ing happen.

Posted by: Rich on September 21, 2005 03:11 PM

I've lived in Massachusetts for most of the last 30 years.

Where are you being held? It might take me a week to put together a heavily armed rescue mission...

What is the UK Regime's plan for protecting the citizens from the savage criminals they've foisted on the populace? They offer NONE. They do, however, have a plan for protecting the savage criminals from the citizens: The citizens must STAY CALM and not get angry and not share videos of citizens being attacked by savage criminals.
The public keeps saying "protect us from the foreign savages you have imported against our wishes and over our objections" and the UK branch of The Regime keeps proposing plans to protect the foreign savages from the public. Soclose to what the public is demanding, just, you know, the complete opposite.
Just a thought: Maybe you wouldn't have to worry about the public attacking the savage criminals if you actually introduced a plan to protect the public from the savage criminals. Maybe they wouldn't feel as if it was necessary for them to protect the public through self-help.
