Click.

Lorie Byrd collects up the best essays on 9/11 from the past four years, as well as terrible pictures from that black day.

And... Sign the Take Back the Memorial petition, to prevent the September 11th Memorial from being used to denigrate America and apologize for terrorism.

I'll sign the petition no matter what, but do you really think thing like that help?

Posted by: on September 11, 2005 09:50 AM

I'm still pissed off about 9/11. I assure you; this is ONE Lib who has definitely NOT forgotten, nor have I forgiven those bastards for it either..

Ace,
Is it just me, or is there a deafening silence about this day on the left side of the blogosphere?

Posted by: marcus on September 11, 2005 10:22 AM

I think the ACLU is teaming up with CAIR to sue everyone who displays the burning towers picture.

In the interest of the public good, of course.

Posted by: William Thrash on September 11, 2005 10:37 AM

"I'll sign the petition no matter what, but do you really think thing like that help?"

Help what ? Take it back from what ?
The petition appears to suggest that a building, some trees and a pool is an apology to terrorists.
WTF ?

You think maybe it's time you had less bullshit 9/11 causes and not more ?

Does "Ssm" stand for "Stunningly stupid moonbat"?

Of course, what this moonbat means is "no bullshit 9/11 causes" because it reminds him or her how morally bankrupt their whole world view is. Nobody likes to be reminded of their failings.

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner.

Posted by: digitalbrownshirt on September 11, 2005 01:07 PM

It should symbolize our survival and our triumph.

Yes, it symbolizes the survival, but not triumph. Triumph has not been achieved, yet. In mine opinion, it will take a long way to achieve the triumph in the World.
9/11 should be the day of remembrance, peace, and reviewing ourselves as a people and as a nation in terms of our role in the World arena.
What this country wants to bring to its own people and to the World in a whole? How and what are the ways for an achievement? This will define the perception of America by the rest of World and prevent from similar attacks. Problem is not in the event, but stretches out deeper and it is time to analyze, find solution, implement, and maintain it.
Evil creates more evil, goodness wins, but it takes time.

Posted by: Alexandre on September 11, 2005 01:07 PM

I'll settle for killing our enemies. Touchy feely crap just gets you killed when your dealing with bad guys.

I'll settle for killing our enemies.

So shove it Angelique.

Posted by: digitalbrownshirt on September 11, 2005 01:59 PM

"This will define the perception of America by the rest of World and prevent from similar attacks"

America is the most generous country in the world. We have given more of our blood in defense of other countries then any other country in history. We are the beacon of freedom throughout the world. I laugh when somebody says America is hated because while some governments might not like us, most of the people in the world do. There is a reason that we have to restrict and control immigration and it isn't because we're so bad. So all of you moonbats take your anti-americanism and shove it straight up your collective asses. USA! USA!

P.S. I do question your patriotism.

Posted by: BrewFan on September 11, 2005 02:06 PM

With this kind of mushbrained thinking, Eisenhower would have never launched the Normandy invasion and all of europe would be speaking German right now.

The key you see - IS TO FUCKING WELL MAKE SURE YOU WIN AND LEAVE THE LOSING TO THE LOSERS.

No no no, the foreigner who doesn't know English very well is absolutely right. If we bend over and grab our ankles and give the Islamofascists everything they want, then they'll be nice to us!

Hmm... Angelique is a French name, isn't it? No wonder she wants to surrender.

Nice language. Thanks.

You can fight up to the point, than you will come to the square one. Shooting one squirrel does not prevent other to come. How long are you willing to give? Looking for coalition of willing?
It is not solution. The approach is the answer which leads to triumph. It is there and it needs just to grab. Go and figure out.

Well, well, well. French name, not well spoken English. Thanks.
It needs to know when to win and when to surrender:)
Cheers.

Yes, you are right the ways of thinking are different in cultures through the World. When you learn to respect theirs, they might respect yours as well.
Meanwhile, what is left - “burning the forests” instead of to figure out safe solution for all. It is there, but deaf can not hear and blind can not see.

Posted by: lauraw on September 11, 2005 05:00 PM

Megan,

You do not have to convert to any religion in order to live in peace. All religions teach us to respect each other and not inflict harm on each other. Love your neighbor as your self.
Ideology is the key. Rulers are the key. Power clashes power creates resistance. There is no fire without spark.
I believe in Human as a People, who can live in the world with different views and religions, respecting each one’s traditions and differences, Human, who can find consensus among themselves in diplomatic ways and where the war is the last resort.
Mine religion does not have any connection to the Islam and I am not going to be converted to other one, even I have to marry someone. I have friends of different faiths, including atheists, and we are able to understand each one despite our differences.

Angelique:

Have you ever actually listened to what the terrorists say? Have you read the Hamas charter or the fatwas of Osama Bin Laden? They want to restore the Islamic Caliphate with the goal of creating a world wide Islamic empire. In their own way they are similar to the National Socialists of 60 years ago. You CANNOT extend the hand of peace to them and expect them to reciprocate - we have tried and 9/11 was the result.

Right now we are fighting a VERY limited war against a fanatical army of Islamic fascists - when or if the USA loses a city to Islamic terrorism the war that will result will make everything that seems to disturb you so much seem like a childs tea party.

You seem to think that an eye for an eye makes the world blind - so you cannot discriminate between crimminals and policemen. You are wrong.

Posted by: BattleofthePyramids on September 11, 2005 05:18 PM

Posted by: Megan on September 11, 2005 05:18 PM

It is power and sparky, my two leetle dogs, who ignite the flame that burns us all. It is the leg being humped that creates resistance, not the dog. It is wrong to push away the poodle when he is about to come. I believe in peaceful intercourse between us, and understand that can be achieve through smelling each other in the behinds. Even if I get baby from dog and have to marry one, no one will expect me to become a dog. I have dogs of different breeds, and they all sniff and hump each other regardless as to color or size.

Megan, I actually had a Brit chastise me for this once. I had to explain to him that we weren't us then, we were you.

Don't know about the rest of you, but I'm uncomfortable with images of September 11 overlaid on the sad and the sentimental. I understand, but it's at odds with how I feel about it. Hoo boy. We got a live one here.

Point out one verse in the Koran that corresponds to this passage of Christian scripture, and I might start believing that "all religious teach us to respect...blah...blah":

Matthew 5:43-48
43"You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' 44But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? 48You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Ideology is the key. Rulers are the key. Power clashes power creates resistance. There is no fire without spark.

Huh? This sounds like late-night college bull session nonsense to me.

Or pseudo-philosophy.

Like there's a difference.
