« Kuwait Offers Cool Half-Billion In Disaster Aid | Main | Excuse Me, But Doesn't the Governor Mobilize The National Guard? »
September 05, 2005

Obviously all the looting and crimes in New Orleans is an anomaly.

These people are simply desperate for supplies in a flood ravaged city. There is no possible precedent for them to act in such a manner. And we certainly can't blame the police force there. Nope, its all Bush's fault!

But wait, what is this? And this? And what about this little nugget from the notoriously right wing Human Rights Watch?

As astutely noted by police abuse expert Prof. James Fyfe, some cities' police departments have reputations for being brutal, like Los Angeles, or corrupt, like New York, and still others are considered incompetent. New Orleans has accomplished the rare feat of leading nationally in all categories.

In that '95 case of the police officer killing an off-duty policeman during a robbery they left out the fact that she killed a guy that had been her partner, therefore he recognized her. Later on, she showed up during the investigation and asked the witnes, who had hid in the freezer, if she'd seen the killer. The girl was too terrified to speak since she recognized the police woman as the killer.

Dateline did a pretty good piece on Louisiana police corruption a few years back.

Saw the video of the Walmart cop looting posted earlier. Didn't see this photo/article of additional misdeeds, so thought I'd post.

They sell liquor at Walmarts down there? All we get in ours is low point beer.

Ace: This is horrible news. I knew that Rove was behind all this, but to have planned this murder of black people by first corrupting the wonderful, noble, honest police force of New ORleans starting 10 years ago and covering it up by causing Katrina with Bush's Global Warming policies makes Bush and Rove an incredible menace.Yes that Black hating Bush must go. More late after I've informed the rest of the DNC about this ongoing decade long criminal conspiracy.

"Tripple-crown winner" - have to find some way to play that up on the tourist flyers...

an officer was convicted in April 1996 of hiring a hit man to kill a woman who had lodged a brutality complaint against him

This is VERY shameful/disturbing. I need cops who got the stones to do their own hits, not "outsource" them.

Oh, it was worse than that. She and her ex-partner had worked security at this vietnamese resturant. The family loved her. That night her ex-partner was trying to earn extra cash b/c his wife had just given birth. She shot the 24 year old son and 17 year old daughter of the owners and her partern. Two of the kids hid in the cooler and saw her.

She had to know her ex-partner wd be there and that he just had a new baby at home.

She went in there with the intent to kill the family who had given her a job and by all accounts treated her wonderfully and considered her a friend.

This is why I support the death penalty.

"...or corrupt, like New York"

That was when we had Flop Sweating Dinkins and "Out of Town" Commissioner Brown.

What is the UK Regime's plan for protecting the citizens from the savage criminals they've foisted on the populace? They offer NONE. They do, however, have a plan for protecting the savage criminals from the citizens: The citizens must STAY CALM and not get angry and not share videos of citizens being attacked by savage criminals.
The public keeps saying "protect us from the foreign savages you have imported against our wishes and over our objections" and the UK branch of The Regime keeps proposing plans to protect the foreign savages from the public. Soclose to what the public is demanding, just, you know, the complete opposite.
Just a thought: Maybe you wouldn't have to worry about the public attacking the savage criminals if you actually introduced a plan to protect the public from the savage criminals. Maybe they wouldn't feel as if it was necessary for them to protect the public through self-help.
