Dirty Democrat Deeds: They Stole Our Beer Money!

A donation for $5000 from Anheuser-Busch, intended for the South Carolina Republican Party, was accidentally sent to the Democrats.

Who promptly deposited it.

And, like Air America, they're promising to give it back... but the check is still apparently in the mail.

Thanks to NickS.

I know this is a longshot, but seriously, if anyone out there has a Budweiser check intended for Ace of Spades that accidentally got delivered to you...

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't AB take out a huge ad in support of Kerry before the last election?

Posted by: compos mentis on August 8, 2005 06:08 PM

How did the money get into the Democrats' account if the check was made out to the Republicans? Did the bank employee not look at the "Pay to the Order" line? Did the check not have anything in the "Pay to the Order" line? Was it made out to Cash?

No checks but I've got 6 Bud bottle caps I can send you.

Posted by: Whitehall on August 8, 2005 08:38 PM

The GOp demanded to have the Democrats cut them a check. They said no way and returned it to AB. Get your facts straight.

Posted by: thomas on August 9, 2005 10:53 AM

That's great, Tom, but why did they cash a check that wasn't theirs in the first place?

Posted by: Slublog on August 9, 2005 11:02 AM

Obviously because Democrats hate America. Or is it this... the envelope was addressed to the state Democratic Party, which promptly deposited the money. Do you people read the fucking articles or just like to bitch?

Posted by: Thomas on August 9, 2005 12:41 PM

Thomas,

Yeah, I read it. I noted it was addressed to them.

But it was misaddressed, and AB and the GOP both want their money. The Dems are dragging their feet about returning it.

For crying out loud, it was pretty much a joke post. "They stole our beer money!" is not a super-serious slam on the liberal party of America.

Have you no sense of humor, sir? At long last, have you no sense of humor at all?

"the envelope was addressed to the state Democratic Party, which promptly deposited the money"

You're overlooking the whole process of recording PAC and political party contributions according to FEC regulations. Its possible, but not probable that they didn't know who the check was made out to.

Temper, temper.

Remember, this isn't the Daily Kos.

Days Are Important: The Amount of Days Was a Number and That Number Was 100 Plus 7 Which is 107. 107. One Hundred and Seven. We Have to Let It Flow Into the Reservoir of Our Mind and Our Heart. Our Heart Which is the Beating Heart of Not Just Our Blood, But Our Progress. And Our People. And Democracy. The End.

Both guys are old liberals, maybe even of the far-left variety, and both are appalled by the Democrat/Deep State coup against the US. Kiriakou says that CIA officers were legally obligated to report to the Inspector General John Brennan's repeated overruling of actual intelligence to encode his partisan conspiracy theories into US intel product, but of course they didn't.
