"Jihad is part of my religion:" Australian Imam Encourages Young Muslims To Go To Iraq To Fight... Australian Soldiers

To be fair, he doesn't specify Australian soldiers, but they're over there, so...

Religious tolerance does not, and never has, extend as far as including tolerance for actual treason.

If your religion will not allow for loyalty and submission to the sovereign authority of a non-Islamist government, then you're squatting in a country under false pretenses.

I'm not certain if visa applications and immigration paperwork specifically asks questions like this. If they don't, it's about time they specifically began asking for an oath of allegiance (or at least a statement that the applicant will respect all local laws and not militate against the government issuing the visa), and anyone who acts contrary to their guarantees should be either simply ejected or else imprisoned, depending on the nature of the violation. (Lying on such forms, i.e., coming to a country with the specific intent of inciting hatred, violence, and treason, should be punishable by long jail sentences, as it's fraud, and a rather nasty sort of fraud at that).

Thanks to Megan.

Linkee no workee.

And megan: you shoplifted my link from the nutbar thread, dammit! I demand payment in the form of naked pictures of Bea Arthur.

Never mind about the link...the "so..." link wasn't immediately obvious. Or I'm dumb. Or both.

Posted by: Monty on August 4, 2005 01:37 PM

I added a "www." Hopefully that will make it work for you.

It already worked for me. What the heck is that? That sometimes it works without the www and sometimes it doesn't? I know it has something to do with being on the right server, but... I'm not on LGF's server, or probably not even their network. So how come it worked for me?

...

I didn't send Ace any links today. I hadn't even seen this story.

Maybe he means LCM Megan.

megan:

You still owe me the naked Bea Arthur pictures. Just because.

Posted by: Monty on August 4, 2005 01:45 PM

[does a brief Google search]

This is some kind of running joke I don't get, right?

This is some kind of running joke I don't get, right?

What's not to get? It's Bea Arthur! Come on! I couldn't watch Golden Girls without sporting some serious lumber, you know what I mean?

...and we probably ought to take this over into the open thread, if we intend further shenanigans. This jihad topic is important, and I don't want to thread-jack it. Levity belongs elsewhere. Reply in the open thread.

Some browsers will 'intelligently' try adding "www" to a URL string if the domain is not found on first try.

Assuming it is not a browser issue, the other factor is how the site admin setup their DNS records.

I'm frankly surprised the title is 107 Days. I would have thought it would be:

Days Are Important: The Amount of Days Was a Number and That Number Was 100 Plus 7 Which is 107. 107. One Hundred and Seven. It's a Memoir and Memoirs are About Remembering Things Because Remembering Things is Good. Not Bad. Good. Memoir. A Memoir. Like a Reservoir But With Memory. We Have to Let it Flow. We Have to Let It Flow Into the Reservoir of Our Mind and Our Heart. Our Heart Which is the Beating Heart of Not Just Our Blood, But Our Progress. And Our People. And Democracy. The End.

Former CIA operative John Kiriakou talks with Matt Taibbi about the Brennan/Comey Coup
Both guys are old liberals, maybe even of the far-left variety, and both are appalled by the Democrat/Deep State coup against the US. Kiriakou says that CIA officers were legally obligated to report to the Inspector General John Brennan's repeated overruling of actual intelligence to encode his partisan conspiracy theories into US intel product, but of course they didn't.

Malcolm Jamal-Warner, the son on The Cosby Show, dies of drowning at age 54: reports
Warner was in Costa Rica on a family vacation and drowned while swimming near Cocles after allegedly being caught by a high current on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred between 2 and 2:30 p.m. local time.
Costa Rican National Police told The Post that Warner was pulled from the water by people in the area and taken to shore, where the Costa Rica Red Cross tried to revive him but were unsuccessful in their efforts.
His body was taken to the morgue at San Joaquin de Flores for an autopsy. The cause of death is listed as asphyxiation by "submersion."
