Rove's Remarks Redux: Inconveniently Accurate

You've probably seen similar quotes around, but let me remind you of these gems:

We’ve got to ask, why is this man [bin Laden] so popular around the world? Why are people so supportive of him in many countries that are riddled with poverty? He’s been out in these countries for decades, building schools, building roads, building infrastructure, building day-care facilities, building health-care facilities, and the people are extremely grateful. -- Democratic Senator Patty "I'm an F'n' Moron" Murray

I still giggle like a retard on happy-gas when I hear about the "day-care facilities" bin Ladin builds. You know-- because Osama bin Ladin's all about making life easier for workin' moms.

Nothing makes him happier than to see a woman pursuing a high-powered career while dropping the little ones off at the Magic Madrassa Happytime Day School.

I've resisted pronouncing a sentence before guilt is found. I still have this old-fashioned notion that even with people like Osama, who is very likely to be found guilty, we should do our best not to, in positions of executive power, not to prejudge jury trials. . . -- Then Democratic candidate for president, now DNC Head Howard Dean

Remember, he wasn't afraid to pre-judge Tom DeLay's guilt.

I guess you can suspend niceties like not prejudging jury trials when you're facing an implacable and evil enemy like Tom DeLay. But with a misunderstood peasant reformer like Osama bin Ladin-- wouldn't want to insinuate any guilt.

And I'm not quoting it (always leave something behind to click on, I says), but there's that little matter of Kerry quibbling over whether the "war on terror" (always scare-quotes around it, as far as liberals go) was actually a war or not.

What.

Ever.

Is it too much to ask that W bring this up during his speech? Something like "all Americans must unite in the cause of defeating tyranny" etc. etc.
A sublte dig, but a dig none the less.

Thank you for reminding ous of the Left's patriotism.

So, all we need to do to get them to love us is build them all schools, roads, infrastructure, day-care facilities, health-care facilities, (like Iraq?) and we'll cleverly take away all the Moslems who now hate us from OBL. This is so deluded it sounds like a parody. Especially the idea of Islamic day care. In a society where women are supposed to stay home and take care of the family under pain of death, what need is there for day care? To free up Mustacha to go and do her shift in the Semtex Belt factory?

It's nice to know that there are few conservatives still out there with a sense of decency.

Bill Kristol on FOX News Sunday after a strong disagreement with Hume:

The Question is, "Is what Karl Rove said defensible?" And the answer is "No."

Thanks, Mr. Kristol. You're alright in my book.

Thanks, Mr. Kristol. You're alright in my book.

Phew, I am SURE Mr. Kristol can now sleep at night!

But he does sort of go against the liberal claim that conservatives aren't allowed to disagree with each other, huh? Why, he's just an enigma shrouded in a mystery covered in chocolate sauce! Hope your head don't explode, Mr. Courage!

I think that's the only way people like you can hold on to your ideology, bbeck; by painting some conveniently encapsulating, one size fits all picture who we are, and what we believe. You don't know a damn thing about me or what I think about conservatives. There are a lot of conservatives that I love dearly; they are members of my family and some of my closest friends. And the funny thing is they are nothing like the what most of the people who comment here appear to be. They are kind and tolerant people, and most of them are not altogether happy with the way things are going in this country right now, or with the war in Iraq. So I have no problem with grasping the reality that conservatives are allowed to disagree with each other. But ironically, you would probably write them off as "RINO's".

Sorry for not signing my name to the previous post, your right, that was soooo cowardly of me.

Posted by: izzadem on June 27, 2005 07:01 PM

But now that he's taken a toke off the ole courage ganga, he can sign his own handle.

But it still proves the point that the only real debates happen on the right. Individuall liberals may believe all sorts of things, but you'd never know it, because as soon as one steps outta line, whammo! Just ask Bob Casey.

Posted by: Iblis on June 27, 2005 07:31 PM

My guess is that most debates on the left are over who is more like Hitler - Bush or Cheney?

Posted by: The Warden on June 27, 2005 07:43 PM

I simply hit post without entering my handle, happens a lot here - I'm sure you've noticed all the "Sorry, the last post was me" comments. But go ahead: smear, smear, smear and defame. Can't you respond without some sort of a cut?

But it still proves the point that the only real debates happen on the right. Individuall liberals may believe all sorts of things, but you'd never know it, because as soon as one steps outta line, whammo! Just ask Bob Casey.

You've got to be kidding, right? All we fucking do is debate. Probably why we are so ineffectual lately. Show me a cocktail party full of liberals all agreeing on the issues and I'll show you a miracle.

Posted by: izzadem on June 27, 2005 07:45 PM

"Can't you respond without some sort of a cut?"

When you make it so easy, how can we not? Who are we to spurn your gifts. Besides its the Ace O' Spades Comments way.

The only thing they debate at cocktail parties is how FOX can be so powerful when its always wrong. If they actually critiqued their positions they would be where they are.

I think that's the only way people like you can hold on to your ideology, bbeck; by painting some conveniently encapsulating, one size fits all picture who we are, and what we believe.

Uh, YOU just DID what you're accusing me of in your post above by stating there are still a FEW conservatives blah blah blah. How many "conservatives" like that are there? You're a hypocrite.

You don't know a damn thing about me or what I think about conservatives.

Quite obviously, you don't THINK anything.

There are a lot of conservatives that I love dearly; they are members of my family and some of my closest friends.

It's nice to know that insanity doesn't completely encapsulate your family.

And the funny thing is they are nothing like the what most of the people who comment here appear to be.

Yeah, but then, they HAVE to put up with you.

They are kind and tolerant people, and most of them are not altogether happy with the way things are going in this country right now, or with the war in Iraq.

Well goodness, it must be tough to keep their hopes up with your constant negativity.

So I have no problem with grasping the reality that conservatives are allowed to disagree with each other.

No, you just have a problem with the aforementioned hypocrisy on the subject.

But ironically, you would probably write them off as "RINO's".

*gasp* Why, you don't know a d*** thing about me or what I think about conservatives! Sorry, I just couldn't capture your prissy attitude, but I tried.

Sorry for not signing my name to the previous post, your right, that was soooo cowardly of me.

Thanks for getting something right, although you probably considered it sarcasm. Keep trying...

...or get OUT of here and go talk to your more reasonable conservative friends and family. See? Now THAT'S sarcasm.

Later,
bbeck

Sarcasm. From the Greek sarcaso. Which means to "rend flesh".

I don't know why I said that. Say "thanks Cliffy".

Thanks, Cliffy.

IzzaDem,

So what you are saying is that the only good conservatives are ones that agree with your position?

I can find a plenty of bitching online about Bush and Co from "conservatives". We have plenty of debate on this side of things, we just share the same direction if not the subtleties.

I can believe that there wouldn't be a single opinion in a room full of libs because for the most part, many factions of the left have opposing views. i.e. Tolerance of Islam abroad while supporting gay and femininist rights not to be stoned. Solving third world issues without breaking out the military to remove dictators, religious democrats (i.e. Black & Hispanic communities) opposing the removal of religion from every aspect of public life.

The right agrees on many issues and as such, we move along in a general direction. The left has so many factions pulling it in different directions, it doesn't go anywhere.

Important Message from Recent Convert to Christianity and Yet Super-Serious Christian Tuq'r Qarlson: Actually Muslims love Jesus, it's Trump and his neocons who hate him
Tucker Carlson Network
@TCNetwork

The people in charge [Jews, of course -- ace] don't want you to know this, but Muslims love Jesus.

Islam reveres Him as a major prophet and messenger of the Lord, believes He performed miracles, and states that He will return to Earth to defeat the Antichrist. That's why Donald Trump's painting depicting himself as the Son of God offended the president of Iran. It was an attack on his religion as well as Christianity.

Trump's trolling tweet was ill-advised, but Tucker is just lying when he claims the Christianity-hating President of Iran was "offended" by this.
He's one step away from announcing his official conversion to Islam. He literally never stops praising Islam. Well, he suddenly became Christian two years ago, there's not much stopping him from converting again.
You can track Tuq'r's official conversion to Islam with this Bingo card.
