The "journalist" also fails to mention the fact that his civilized voters in Europe are abandoning the EU concept in about the same proportions that they support the death penality. Proving the point that either Ace or Insty made a few months back that Europe is not more civilized than the US, they are just less democratic.

I believe that this support/worship/fawning over anything NOT US is how they hope to validate their beliefs that the US is the main/only source of evil in the world; that all else that might be evil pales before the US's grave injustices.

First of all, those nations obviously had way more generous social welfare - in theory, if nowhere else - BEFORE the collapse of their retarded communist bullshit, right?

Second - was I hallucinating, or did Slovakia just institute a flat tax? isn't Eastern Europe collectively begging for our doggie treats and pissing off Chiraq (name intentionally misspelt for humorous purposes)? aren't several E.European nations in The Coalition of Aaron Spelling? Actually, the article was in the January 31st edition of the internation version of events. Which means it was written imediately prior to the Irag elections, back when liberals were claiming that the situation was so bad that they should postpone the elections.
