Prepare For Another Shock: Special Blue-Ribbon Panel Whitewashes Oil-For-FoodLet's face it, that's what these panels are paid to do-- make a story go away: Investigators probing the Oil-for-Food program in Iraq said Tuesday there was not enough evidence to show that U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan knew of a controversial contract bid by his son's employer. Thank God for small favors, eh? I can't wait for Volcker's report on those Jordanian peace-keepers/child-rapists/goat-sodomizers. My sources tell me he'll mildly criticize the Jordanian "soldiers" for not having the common courtesy to give the goats the "reach-around" mandated by the Geneva Conventions.

CommentsFurther, those Jordainian purveyors of barnyard pleasantries will probably be excoriated for failing to adhere to World Health Organization "safe sex best practices". I mean, what's the sense of printing up 10,000,000 light blue raincoats if your "piece"-keepers aren't going to use them? Posted by: Jack M. on March 29, 2005 01:20 PM

The return of Plausible Deniability. Or, in this case, not all that plausible. Posted by: OCBill on March 29, 2005 02:26 PM
How dare you suggest that Jordanian "soldiers" don't have "the common courtesy to give the goats the "reach-around" mandated by the Geneva Conventions." Like all good Moslems, we always give the goats the "reach-around" and any other animals, too! Posted by: 72VIRGINS on March 29, 2005 02:54 PM

This article left me feeling a bit sheepish. “I saw the goat the next day,” chief investigating officer Dave Crinnion from the British Transport Police told the Sun, “It did not seem too upset but it is difficult to tell.” Well, was she having a cigarette? i've always loved that phrase "blue ribbon" in this context, since it always makes me think of the store brand that you buy when you're too cheap/broke to buy the name brand. "Blue Ribbon - Outstanding Value for Your Family" Posted by: tachyonshuggy on March 29, 2005 04:03 PM
