Coalition Forces Re-Think Iraq Exit

Chiefly due to increased optimism about the elections some said would never be held, and would never work:

Australia said it would dispatch 450 new troops to Iraq -- more than double the number of its forces now deployed in the country....

Portugal could send back almost as many troops as it had earlier deployed in Iraq....

Poland, which withdrew 700 of its 2,400 troops this month and said it would withdraw the rest this year, is now sending a general to Washington to discuss how to restructure the Polish mission to contribute to training.

The Ukraine, Macedonia, and the Netherlands are also considering taking a greater role in training Iraqi forces and police.

As I always say, "Nothin' impresses like successes."

This is wonderful news. So...may I assume the MSM is/will be completely silent on the subject?

It's nice to have a Prez who doesn't consider his "legacy" his job.

Bush is leaving some mighty big footprints.

Success, meet your many fathers.

Posted by: SJKevin on February 25, 2005 08:23 PM

Well... whaddaya think about that? I'm glad they're at least getting on board now, but I'm even gladder that the president of MY country has the you-know-whats to do what's right regardless of world opinion. God Bless GWB.

Success has a thousand fathers - and it's adoption time!

Canada is training Iraqi security forces as well. But they're doing it in Jorden.

The Aussies have been with us since the beginning, so I don't think they're "jumping on the bandwagon" is any way.

That being said, now that the Coalition (Americans, British, and Austrailians) are showing signs of success in a revitalized Iraq, everybody else is trying to come on board for a piece of the pie.

Posted by: Xoxotl on February 25, 2005 09:37 PM

and the Democrats and Old Europe will try to rewrite history by telling us they were FOR Iraqi freedom all along, they just did not support the US led invasion.

As I have reported several times and now acknowledged by the Governor of California... Gavin and his wife are under federal investigation... what he failed to tell you... This began during the Biden Admin. Kind of a big detail.

What is the UK Regime's plan for protecting the citizens from the savage criminals they've foisted on the populace? They offer NONE. They do, however, have a plan for protecting the savage criminals from the citizens: The citizens must STAY CALM and not get angry and not share videos of citizens being attacked by savage criminals.
The public keeps saying "protect us from the foreign savages you have imported against our wishes and over our objections" and the UK branch of The Regime keeps proposing plans to protect the foreign savages from the public. Soclose to what the public is demanding, just, you know, the complete opposite.
Just a thought: Maybe you wouldn't have to worry about the public attacking the savage criminals if you actually introduced a plan to protect the public from the savage criminals. Maybe they wouldn't feel as if it was necessary for them to protect the public through self-help.

Oof. Reviewers do not like Scary Movie 6. The criticism I keep hearing is that the movie mistakes a reference for an actual joke. The movie (they say) keeps Key Jangling a reference to another movie (or some other pop culture ephemera) and you expect there to be a joke but nope, the Key Jangle was the joke. Other reviewers say that the promise that "no lines will be uncrossed" is a fake-out, and that the movie is bland and inoffensively corporate.
Whoops! I posted about Dan Goldman losing the NY congressional primary. He might do that, but it won't be tonight -- the primary isn't held until June 23.
