Do I Have Time For One Last Sullivan Bitchslap? [Ace]

Well, actually, I don't, but the Weekly Standard does:

'A Rigorous Scholar Who Cannot Defend Himself'

That's how blogger Andrew Sullivan has now described the late Clarence Arthur Tripp in the course of a long, serial complaint against The Weekly Standard's recent "hatchet-job" review of Tripp's posthumous book, The Intimate World of Abraham Lincoln ("Honest, Abe?" by Philip Nobile, January 17). Our reviewer thought the book--an attempt to establish that America's 16th president was gay--a "hoax and a fraud." But Sullivan rejects that charge as a piece of "character assassination" against a highly regarded "Kinseyite social scientist" with a "Ph.D. in clinical psychology" and a "superb and invaluable" collection of documentary evidence. For this (and for what he contends was our reviewer's failure to disclose a professional conflict of interest) "they need to apologize," Mr. Sullivan insists. "Will The Standard correct?"

And who was C.A. Tripp? Well, among other things, he was a defender of a man called Rex King. Propriety (and the fair use doctrine) prevents me of informing you of the sort of shit King was into, and how vigorously Tripp defended his right to... well, engage in pedophilia.

At this point in his interview, Tripp momentarily digressed to make a "very important observation" about what happens "if you go out and masturbate dogs--I was very good at this when I was a boy." But then he returned to the subject of King, pronouncing him "totally" ethical, "clean as a whistle." The man "had sex with all the relatives and brothers and sisters and aunts," Tripp explained, "but nobody is objecting. He makes it pleasant. . . . And very few pedophiles make any damage anyway, it almost never happens."

No point beating around the bush, here: Clarence Arthur Tripp was not a "social scientist." He was a lunatic.

Will Andrew Sullivan correct?

Ahem.

Sullivan's ludicrous claim -- that his agenda is the normalization of and bourgeiousization of homosexual relationships, rather than the mainstreaming of transgressive sexual practices generally -- would be a bit less laughable if he didn't get himself into such a lather defending perverts like Tripp.

Thanks to RW.

Transgressive Sexual Google Searches: Like, how, exactly, did I show up as a hit for this search?

As Meatloaf says, "I would do anything for love... but I won't do that."

No, I won't do that.

Mystery Solved: Well, that phrase was written verbatim in a comment, it turns out.

By whom?

Who else...?

Cedarford.

Thanks to Cedarford, I'm now a google hit for equine sexual aids.

amish,

don't forget the zionists and neocons! They have been historically interested in cornering the market in plastic pony poontang!

ROFL holy cow that rules. I turn up for "fat kid F*cking" and "sisters f*cking" and all sorts of weird google hits. Guess that says a couple things about my language, and maybe the kinds of stuff i post. lol

Just goes to show you how politically and morally tone deaf libs have become. Anything that is perceived as a threat to some outlier of their agenda is instinctively attacked.

The Planned Parenthood people spoke out against Lacey's murderer being charged with a double homicide. Could they have picked a worse case for their cause? Tone deaf.

Here in Connecticut, the anti-death penalty folks are using the impending execution of Michael Ross as a platform to start a 'dialogue' about capital punishment. I have misgivings about the death penalty. But this guy is the freaking poster child for the perfectly justified execution. Tone deaf.

And now...trying to advance a gay rights agenda...by defending an (perverted) author who is saying good ol' Abe Lincoln was gay. Yeah, that'll go over big with the American people. Sincerely, I am amazed; what a bunch of retards these Democrats be.

They just never. Stop. With the bullshit.

Posted by: lauraw on January 24, 2005 09:35 PM

"Bourgeiousization": That would actually be "embourgeoisement." It long ago underwent embourgeoisement; the process isn't complete and it will be interesting to see how far it goes and what the consequences are. It was never proletarian; nor is it proletarian now, although it was and still is in some respects bohemian.

As for King, if "nobody [was] objecting" among "all the relatives and brothers and sisters and aunts," that's a very interesting observation on human nature that the Weekly Standard is retailing. I wonder, as you do, whether it's true or not. No, I guess I should strike the "as you do," inasmuch as moral indignation doesn't usually leave much room for idle curiosity. I'm going to leave the moral indignation to you.

But I haven't figured out yet what any of this has to do with what's said about Lincoln, unless you have an argument to support the implied premise, "All defenders of pervs are also historical fabricators." Otherwise, I think your post is a red herring and ad hominem in two different senses. Keep those argument fallacies handy if you're really intent on being a first-rate demagogue; they're so effective and require so much less time than actually digging into the arguments and alleged source documents. Certainly I've found that true in writing this comment; yet since the subject was already changed before I got here, I think I might merit some excuse.

im pretty sure we can ignore Fenrings post. He wrote a book back in 60s about his boyhood romances with an artificial horse vagina

Posted by: ad hominem amish on January 24, 2005 09:45 PM

Don't knock it til you've tried it amish.

I wonder if Fenring has read Nobile's original review/ indictment.

I gotta wonder what would cause you to Google "artificial horse vagina" in the first place.

Nevermind.... I don't wanna know.

Posted by: Billski on January 24, 2005 10:09 PM

my greatgrandfather was an army doctor back in the old days when they still used horses in the calvary. What passed for the veterans administration would provide artificial limbs to wounded soldiers just as they do today. What most people dont know is that they provided a similer service to wounded horses.

whoever googled this was obviously a history buff.

Posted by: amish on January 24, 2005 10:15 PM

Um, amish, since when is a horse's vagina considered a "limb?"

Posted by: Sean M. on January 24, 2005 10:43 PM

well like greatgrandfather said "horse vaginas dont grow on trees" so i guess they arent technically limbs...

ya got me...im not a real doctor

Now we know what Ace's script is at Sundance! It stars Robert Redford and Jane Fonda in a 90 minute drama called the "Horse Vagina Monologues". In the movie, Redford has the ability to get Fonda, Margaret Cho, Paula Zahn and Kim Richards to coordinate their menstrual cycles simply by whispering in their ears! Hilarity ensues.

Cedarford has a cameo as a tampon, which he prefers to address as the "gaza strip" for some reason.

Gaza strip? I thought he wanted to be called the Red Sea?
anybody wanna see some hot underage interacial Kim Richards cheesecake on wheels? besides ace?

It's a heavily armored (the pilot sits in a titanim bathtub) slow-and-low loitering plane with a massive minigun firing depleted uranium rounds. The capability it brings is the ability to just fly big circles over the country waiting for a target to present itself. This is a weapons platform for eliminating vehicles and personnel. Its first task might be strafing the seas, clearing out any remaining attack boats and minelayers.
Update: My ballpark estimate for a reasonable cost for a wildlife overpass (suitably padded to sate the thirst of Democrat grifters) was $15 million. Turns out, that was a good estimate. That's how much it cost Denver to build one.

Some people liked Candace Owens because she was a black woman who told hard truths about BLM and black criminality. But this was always a grift. She started out as a race hustler for a grift, then hustled race the other way to grift conservatives, and now she's back to being a race-hustler for the left again. Specifically, she is now claiming that people pointing out that she is legitimately low-IQ and can't pronounce half the words her AI-generated teleprompter script points out to her is racist and just Ben Shapiro's way of saying the n-word without quite saying it. You see, you can only say that black people are smart, and if you see a dumb one that doesn't know how to pronounce simple words while she poses as an investigatory journalist, you have to pretend she's actually smart or you're a racist. Weird, that doesn't sound very conservative, let alone "#Based," to me. To prove how much she hates racism, she then says that Ben Shapiro's Jew ancestors were masters of the slave trade.
