| UPDATE: Michael Moore's Bodyguard's Gun Story-- Wrong »
January 20, 2005
Still Updating the BlogrollWell, it's going to take a little time, but I've started to add, move, and correct broken links in the blogroll. So far I've just corrected some long-broken links (Marcland, Daleks' Weblog, The New Vintage, Margi Lowry) and added some people I'd been meaning to for some time. And I've started moving the once-new, now-established bloggers out into the regular blogroll. But that's taking a while... I hate alphabetizing. If you think I ought to be linking you, tell me so in the comments. (If you already did so a couple of weeks, don't bother doing so again-- I know that post, and I'll be using it to update the blogroll). posted by Ace at 07:22 PM
CommentsOkay, I'm just shameless enough to bite. Link me, because I enjoy fisking Sully and was a fan of the whole "Vice" thing... Posted by: Peter on January 20, 2005 07:33 PM
Dude, this is the *second* major overhaul of your blogroll that I haven't been included on. Jesus, what does one have to do?!? Christ, Glenn Reynolds' blogroll is easier to crack into than yours.... Posted by: Barry N. Johnson on January 20, 2005 07:36 PM
Just did. See, there are a lot of blogs out there that have good stuff all the time, and who send me great tips/links, but I forget them. I only make a habit of reading five or six blogs per day. So thanks for reminding me. Posted by: ace on January 20, 2005 07:36 PM
Cynical, You just got added, too. But the thing is rebuilding right now; yours won't show until I rebuild again. But you're on. Sorry it took so long! Bear in mind, it's not a snub; it's laziness. Posted by: ace on January 20, 2005 07:38 PM
and I'm not done yet, too. I just did some things, got tired, stopped. But I'm still updating. Posted by: ace on January 20, 2005 07:40 PM
You can feel free to remove my "Blog of TSL" from the New Blogger Showcase. I moved my stuff over to Blogger, because Live Journal really just basically sucks. The new site, if you are so inclined to link to it instead, is Geek Soap Box - http: //geeksoapbox.blogspot.com BTW, you had the distinction of being the first person to ever link to my old site. I was immensely grateful for it, thanks. Posted by: TSL on January 20, 2005 07:51 PM
Thanks, Ace. My post was tongue-in-cheek but I do appreciate the addition. :-) Posted by: Barry N. Johnson on January 20, 2005 07:57 PM
Barry-- No problem. Should have done it a while ago. There are certain blogs -- like yours, Slublog, and Soxblog -- that I've linked so frequently I've *assumed* that I must already have them on the blogroll. TSL, Will do. Honored to be the first to recognize you. Posted by: ace on January 20, 2005 08:01 PM
Cool, man, thanks. :-) Posted by: TSL on January 20, 2005 08:02 PM
Ace, you need www.blogrolling.com - 1-click additions to your blogroll - simple as pie. None of this coding and manually entering them garbage, that's for geeks and lesser nerds. Heh. Seriously though, www.blogrolling.com - pimp service and free to boot. Posted by: fat kid on January 20, 2005 08:03 PM
Ace: Since you've asked nicely, I'm willing to let you put a link to my blog up on your site. I'm a bit confused though, having gotten conflicting information from some of the other blogs you've put up: the check you send out at the beginning of every month: is that for that previous month or for the month coming up? And how long will it take for the checks to start coming? Thanks Steve P.S. if you could send the checks via fedex, that would be great. Posted by: stevesturm on January 20, 2005 08:20 PM
For the month in advance. You significantly reduce dead-beats that way. Posted by: fat kid on January 20, 2005 08:23 PM
I'm new, but my blog, The Tar Pit, is pretty cool if I do say so myself. If I don't, who will? I posted for years over at Free Republic, always with the intention of blogging, but the time finally came to stop putting it off. If you link me, I'll link you. Wait, I already did. Nice blog. Cheers Posted by: Sabertooth on January 20, 2005 08:24 PM
Lessee...sharp....sharp.....no...... Odd. I don't see my blog in there. And I worked so hard on this post today, too. Posted by: on January 20, 2005 08:34 PM
I worked so hard on the post, I forgot to tell you who I was. Posted by: Sharp as a Marble on January 20, 2005 08:35 PM
Ace, Exactly the post I have been checking in on your site daily for 11 months for. I'll take a link and a spot in the "new blogger showcase", if you would be so kind. Max Posted by: Max Power on January 20, 2005 08:42 PM
Thanks, Ace. Much appreciated. Now can you share some of that crazy blog money? :-) Posted by: Peter on January 20, 2005 09:25 PM
Well, since you asked, I do think you should be blogrolling me, but hey, I'm just an adorable little rodent in the ecosystem. And, well, you are on my favorites list on MY blogroll, but y'know what they say about flattery and how far it will get me... Have a great day! Posted by: Head on January 20, 2005 09:29 PM
I wouldn't mind a link. Ace, you're one of the funniest bloggers out there, and for the benefit of my average 20 readers a day, I link you frequently. You give me full value for my click throughs, and you're on my very short list of about 5 blogs I read per day. Heck, Right Wing News had me as website of the day about a month and a half ago, so I must be doing something right. I just added you to my own blogroll. That's the kind of integrity I bring. I was linking you lots, but I didn't have you on the blogroll. I thought I did, but I didn't. I guess I f*cked up. Posted by: Matteo on January 20, 2005 09:34 PM
Ok, I'm not above whoring around for a link. Ace, would love for you to come by and check out the site. Cheers, mate! Posted by: TF6S on January 20, 2005 09:38 PM
Ace, From one card guy to another, I'd love a link. I've already got you covered on my space. Posted by: Blackjack on January 20, 2005 10:33 PM
I'll nominate InstaPunk. I think I haven't written anything for it yet, but then, I thought eight things tonight. Posted by: Guy T. on January 20, 2005 10:36 PM
For your perusal. I'd be honored to be on the roll. That would make it an honor roll, I suppose. Posted by: ArrMatey on January 20, 2005 11:24 PM
I think you should link me, because you used to, when I was 'besmirched,' before I had to disappear. You liked me then, didn't ya, skippy? Posted by: liv on January 20, 2005 11:28 PM
Hi Ace, Posted by: Aaron Matthews on January 20, 2005 11:36 PM
Woohoo! I'm no longer a new blogger, but now a Blogger In Arms. I'm not kidding (no, really, I'm not) when I say, "Thank you for the honor." Ace, may all your posts continue to get hits, Posted by: Dave at Garfield Ridge on January 21, 2005 01:32 AM
I've got a great new guy you should consider adding. He's called "Instapundit" I think, and he seems to have something solid going on. I think he's a professor or something. In case you're wondering, the blog seems to be about digital photography and cats. If that's not your speed, then I understand. Posted by: Beck on January 21, 2005 07:12 AM
Please make a visit. Posted by: BobG on January 21, 2005 08:14 AM
Please feel free to link to me if you like! You are on my blogroll, but don't let that influence you unnecessarily.... Posted by: Dr. Sanity on January 21, 2005 08:21 AM
Ahoy, there, Ace! Do ye be linkin' t' the PiratePundit, now? Avast! Pieces o' eight! Where Matey leads, everyone follows. Posted by: http://courtzero.blogspot.com/">Sailor Kenshin on January 21, 2005 08:26 AM
Ace, Posted by: Aaron on January 21, 2005 09:15 AM
Ace: You shouldn't link me, because I suck, but you should link this guy. He's exceedingly sharp, and would never ask you himself. Posted by: Robb on January 21, 2005 10:23 AM
[Hook firmly set in mouth...] Hey Ace, give mine a look when you get a sec. I would be honored to be linked from such a great blog. (I figure the ass-kissing can't hurt any either.) Posted by: Cracka Jack on January 21, 2005 10:26 AM
You are No. 1 in my blogroll and have been since the day I started, for no other reason than that I enjoy your blog. I'd appreciate your taking a look at www.voteforjudges.blogspot.com, even if you decide for reasons I would be unable to fathom that you don't want to link to it. Posted by: Karl Maher on January 21, 2005 11:03 AM
Laziness is not a condition it is a state of mind. None-the-less I would appreciate a link to my little blog. Posted by: Michael C on January 21, 2005 11:57 AM
Ace, Did you really have to single me out for repeatedly groveling and whining about being added to the blogroll? Christ, first I demean myself in front of everybody, then you slap me around publicly. You might as well just spit in my face. BTW, if you weren't talking about me, then disregard the last paragraph. Posted by: John from WuzzaDem on January 21, 2005 12:32 PM
Hey Ace, please consider adding a link to my blog to your blogroll. Posted by: Robby Edwards on January 21, 2005 01:48 PM
Just in case it was an oversight, please consider Cranky Neocon. If not, is there some subtle way you can tell me to take a leap, thereby sparing my dignity? Posted by: Gordon on January 21, 2005 02:11 PM
"Just in case it was an oversight, please consider Cranky Neocon. If not, is there some subtle way you can tell me to take a leap, thereby sparing my dignity?" Damn! I should have said that. I mean, not the Cranky Neocon part, the other stuff. Posted by: John from WuzzaDem on January 21, 2005 02:17 PM
There's no need to be bashful, I'm asking to be reminded. Anyone who posts here regularly is automatic for the blogroll. I just need to be reminded. Posted by: ace on January 21, 2005 02:20 PM
Ace, If you're going to be handing out links, I'd love to throw my place out there: Thanks man. Your on mine ;) Posted by: KelliPundit on January 21, 2005 02:24 PM
I'd love a link. You are one of about 5 sites that I check daily. I've only been blogging for a little under a month, but I'm having a good time mouthing off. A link in the new blogs section would make my day. Posted by: Eric H on January 21, 2005 04:26 PM
Ace, Posted by: Hammertime on January 22, 2005 03:48 PM
I'd like to make the case for being added to your new blog showcase. 1. I've been reading you since damn near the beginning. Good times and bad. Even when you were really starting to make me nervous with the pre-election pessimism, I couldn't quit you, baby. 2. Under my real name, I donated a nice chunk o'change to you several months ago. (You'll have to take my word on that...) 3. You (and Allah) are my blogfathers. Yes, EtherPundit has two blogdaddies! 4. I think your readers would enjoy my blog. 5. I'm a New Yorker. It's a blue-state world out there; we have to stick together. 6. More than a few of the snarky things you've written have become part of everyday language in this household. That's how much I love you, Ace. That's just the fucking way it is. 7. I'm a cute chick with really nice ta-tas. (Again, you'll have to take my word for now...) 8. In deference to your superior wit, I'm stopping at 8 reasons, because to extend this list to 10 reasons would suggest that I feel I can compete with your "Top 10" lists, which would be pure hubris on my part. Some people liked Candace Owens because she was a black woman who told hard truths about BLM and black criminality. But this was always a grift. She started out as a race hustler for a grift, then hustled race the other way to grift conservatives, and now she's back to being a race-hustler for the left again. Specifically, she is now claiming that people pointing out that she is legitimately low-IQ and can't pronounce half the words her AI-generated teleprompter script points out to her is racist and just Ben Shapiro's way of saying the n-word without quite saying it. You see, you can only say that black people are smart, and if you see a dumb one that doesn't know how to pronounce simple words while she poses as an investigatory journalist, you have to pretend she's actually smart or you're a racist. Weird, that doesn't sound very conservative, let alone "#Based," to me. To prove how much she hates racism, she then says that Ben Shapiro's Jew ancestors were masters of the slave trade.
The Oscars: A celebration of thanking. Dave Barry nails it! [CBD]
Ami Kozak: Every single Tucker Carlson episode consists of him claiming he didn't say the things he said in the last episode
Also: this is the manipulation Tucker does that i hate the most. It's so cowardly. All he does is smear people (and Jews, generally), and then claim "I have nothing against [the person or group I just smeared.]" He'll even claim "I love [x], actually." Just again and again and again. It's all a lie, of course. A year ago he smeared Jews but added how beautiful he thought Israel was, and then two weeks ago, he said Israel is ugly as dog-shit and nothing beautiful has been built there "since 1948." Just got this email from Dracula: "I love Van Helsing, actually, he's one of my personal heroes, if I'm being honest. I will claw the heart out of his belly and bathe in his blood before the children of Babylon, but I have nothing but respect for Van Helsing, actually. Love is the answer. Except for the followers of the Christ whom I am commanded to turn into my dark army of Satan. And I totally don't worship Satan, I just think we should listen to both sides. Hugs and kisses, may Van Helsing burn in the blood-red fires of hell throughout eternity, even though I consider him a close and dear friend, Vlad called Dracul."
