Must Read Caption!
And the caption: the state of the war in Iraq (news - web sites) with Chief Warrant Officer Donald Hartson, 126th Aviation Battalion, during the Senators visit to Camp Al Tahreer (Liberty) in the Iraqi capital Baghdad, January 5, 2005. Kerry met with Soldiers from his state, asking them what he should tell Congress about the war in Iraq. The troops complained to Kerry that the good work that they are doing is not getting reported in the United States. Emphasis enthusiastically added. Update: HelenW sends this funny photoshop caption. posted by Ace at 06:23 PM
CommentsIt would be a lot more impressive if the related slideshow didn't start with Charles Graner. Even when Reuters slips up and tells the truth, they kick us in the teeth on the next step. Posted by: michael dennis on January 6, 2005 10:26 PM
Note the body language - crossed arms, leaning away from the soldier. Not hearing what he wanted to hear, I suspect. Note also that the Botox seems to have slipped away. The wrinkles are back - in spades (no disrespect intended). The dude looks worn out. W doesn't look that worn out after four years in office. Maybe Kerry should be glad he didn't win. "Kerry responded by demanding, 'Do you know who I am?'" Posted by: Sobek on January 6, 2005 11:41 PM
Thought bubble over Kerry's head "You're a Karl Rove plant, aren't you?" Posted by: Darleen on January 7, 2005 12:06 AM
Here's another perspective. Posted by: HelenW on January 7, 2005 12:14 AM
Note the body language - crossed arms, leaning away from the soldier. "That sonofabitch tripped me!" Posted by: Sean M. on January 7, 2005 01:31 AM
...to me, the body language looks more like, "now, how can I make this about Meeeee..." Posted by: Claire on January 7, 2005 03:23 AM

What amazes me is how the caption got through Reuters filters. Posted by: Michael C on January 7, 2005 07:29 AM

LOL:
Somebody should write a book about the greatest drinking stories of O'Toole, Burton, Harris, and Caine. One of my faves was Richard Harris went on a six week bender in the South of France without telling wifey. Upon return, she's screaming, and he simply replied "why didn't you pay the ransom"?
