Dan Rather: "I See Dead People"

It's no big deal if the head of a major network news operation thinks he occasionally talks with the ghost of Edmund R. Murrow, is it?

And more from RatherBiased: the word "blog" was the most searched-for item in Merriam-Webster's databases this year.

Damn. I was betting on the word "loin."

Cheers,

MSM Moonbats should never be allowed to remove their tinfoil hats.

Posted by: The Old Coot on November 30, 2004 09:43 PM

It could be worse. I've heard that Peter Jennings summons Gump Worsley's ghost when the going gets tough.

Courage Dan. Courage.

I think the BLOGS should focus all efforts on removing Kofi from the UN. We could also start an effort to support bills that have us leaving that foul, corrupt, and heinous organization of thugs, hypocrites and evil-doers.

News flash! Dan Rather has finally uncovered undeniable proof that Bush used his connections to get out of the Guard. This video shows Bush confessing. Look for it all over the evening news.

Yo ACE! Your traffic hasn't plunged precipitously because you've become "nice and respectable" since instapundit blackballed you, its because your stories are becoming as dull as this one. While Freeper reports today that the Iranain options are fast becoming either accepting the Iranian Bomb or going to war (which actually they always were) your latest is Rather seeing dead people? Perhaps we don't understand the blog world (and as you know THE VIRGINS prefer Islamic news) but it seems to us that hard hitting stories on topics that REALLY MATTER would go a long way towards bringing back readership and responses. And you would be performing a valuable service to your country, not a small matter.

Posted by: 72VIRGINS on December 1, 2004 11:21 AM

72 VIRGINS, this is not the forum for telling Ace how/ what to write on his blog.

I believe the authority you are looking for is Bob Dole's cock.

Posted by: lauraw on December 1, 2004 12:51 PM

No, honestly, I appreciate negative criticism as well. I've been wondering what the heck I can do to improve traffic, and I'll certainly be taking 72virgins' critique under advisement.

The trouble with doing what he suggests is this: There are an awful lot of stories which are important but not particularly bloggable because they're not interesting in terms of blogging. Look, it's a huge story that Iran's going to get the bomb. And I can link to stories about that, but you've probably already read them on Drudge.

What, exactly, can I add to such a story? Do I just say, "You know, we can't let Iran get the bomb, folks" ? I mean, everyone here knows that and agrees with that.

The Ukraine is a difficult one to opine on, too. What can I say about it? The ruling regime is corrupt and stole the election; the opposition party should be allowed to take power. Is there anyone here who needs convincing of this?

I am not, alas, the Belmont Club or Steven den Beste. Those guys are deeper thinkers who can actually put together some serious, thoughtful, gee-why-didn't-I-think-of-that takes on important stories. I'm not so gifted, and I my blogging is restricted to things where I think I can actually add something, however minor and however trivial and comical, to the story.

Posted by: ace on December 1, 2004 01:35 PM

Your job isn't to come up with deep insights. You're forte (pronounced "fort") is the absurd lists and skits. Instead of worrying about Iran's bomb, imagine how the mullahs would act as guests on Sabado Gigante, for example, and write a screenplay about it...

Posted by: JohnL on December 1, 2004 04:35 PM

Aw crap, that should've been "your forte" not "you're forte." Serves me right for getting grammatically high-and-mighty.

Important Message from Recent Convert to Christianity and Yet Super-Serious Christian Tuq'r Qarlson: Actually Muslims love Jesus, it's Trump and his neocons who hate him
Tucker Carlson Network
@TCNetwork

The people in charge [Jews, of course -- ace] don't want you to know this, but Muslims love Jesus.

Islam reveres Him as a major prophet and messenger of the Lord, believes He performed miracles, and states that He will return to Earth to defeat the Antichrist. That's why Donald Trump's painting depicting himself as the Son of God offended the president of Iran. It was an attack on his religion as well as Christianity.

Trump's trolling tweet was ill-advised, but Tucker is just lying when he claims the Christianity-hating President of Iran was "offended" by this.
He's one step away from announcing his official conversion to Islam. He literally never stops praising Islam. Well, he suddenly became Christian two years ago, there's not much stopping him from converting again.
You can track Tuq'r's official conversion to Islam with this Bingo card.

Politico is reporting that multiple people have abruptly resigned from Eric Swalwell's gubernatorial campaign: "Members of senior leadership have departed the campaign, including Courtni Pugh, a strategic adviser who served as Swalwell's top liaison to organized labor groups."

So the campaign is collapsing due to the truth of the sexual harassment allegations.

This is super-obscure and I only barely remember it. Given that, I'll give you the hint that it's by the Red Rocker.

Oh, but then, you never were afraid
Of anything that you've left behind
Oh, but it's alright with me now

Now twenty people will tell me it's not obscure, it was huge in their hometown and played at their prom. That's how it usually goes. When I linked Donnie Iris's "Love is Like a Rock," everyone said they knew that one and that his other song (which I didn't know at all) Ah Leah! was huge in their area.
