Adam Nagourney: Still CocooningNew York Post: W. Soars in Post-Vote Poll AFP: Bush Popularity Rises In Post-Election US Adam Nagourney of the NYT: There's a Sale at Penny's! No, wait, that was somebody else. Here's Adam Nagourney, the NYT's go-to man for cocooning the Times' liberal readership in pleasing deceptions: Americans Show Clear Concerns on Bush Agenda Now, the New York Times is a different poll (always skewing liberal), and they didn't find as much as a Bush bounce as the Gallup Poll. Still, Bush rose in their poll too; Nagourney just makes you wait a while-- until after the jump, perhaps? -- to tell you that: And even after this tense and vituperative campaign, 56 percent said they were generally optimistic about the next four years under Mr. Bush. Mr. Bush's job approval rating has now inched up to 51 percent, the highest it has been since March. Ninth paragraph. Before revealing that discomfiting little tidbit, Nagourney has to tell you such important stuff like: * 70 percent of Mr. Kerry's supporters said they were more worried about candidates who "are too close to religion and religious leaders" than about political leaders who "don't pay enough attention" to religion * Seventy percent said they were very or somewhat concerned that television, movies and popular music were lowering moral standards in this country. etc. Remember, Nagourney is the guy who buried the lede of the pre-2002 election poll -- showing a big and decisive swing to the Republicans -- in order to tell us that the country was still divided or some stupid crap like that. You know-- stuff that's always true. Sort of like "Americans Show Clear Concerns on Bush Agenda." He only has two headlines: Bush's Job Approval Falls, for when it falls, of course; and 68% of Americans are still not buying whatever Gerard Depardieu is selling, whenever Bush's job approval actually rises. This is senseless. You're not doing your readers any favors by coddling them with happytalk and lies, Adam. If Times readers are so damned enlightened and educated, I think you can trust them to handle the news that Bush is polling pretty well right now. posted by Ace at 04:29 AM
CommentsAdam Nagourney of the NYT: There's a Sale at Penny's! And Leon's getting larger! Seriously, though, I loved the following nugget: 70 percent of Mr. Kerry's supporters said they were more worried about candidates who "are too close to religion and religious leaders" than about political leaders who "don't pay enough attention" to religion Really? Remind me which party had a candidate (although said candidate was a joke, but still got to participate in televised debates and make a convention appearance) whose title was Reverend. Ohhhh...that's right! But people like Nagourney never seem to wet their beds fretting about the religiosity of candidates like Sharpton or Je$$e Jack$on. I wonder why that is? I also wonder why Kerry's constant professions of his Catholic faith and his campaign appearances at churches (where he would quote scripture) weren't met with similar hand-wringing? And what's up with the reverence for our first born-again President? It's a mystery why a sophisticate like Mikey Moore would deign to sit with such a Bible-thumpin' rube (from a Red State, no less) at the Dem convention! I think all of this polling about "moral values" swinging the election has been seriously misinterpreted. It's not that the Jesusland vote came out and voted for Bush because he was their shining Christian Knight. I think it was the result of Bush articulating his values and sticking to them. By way of contrast, Kerry was a weathervane, unable to come up with a clear stance on anything. That's a problem for anybody who's not already a severe ABB voter. --Sean M. Nagourney's not doing NYT readers any favors. But he is doing us one. Keep it up! someone Posted by: on November 23, 2004 05:50 AM
Oh come on. Everyone knows the red zone has always been for loading. Don't start up with your white zone shit again. I will be commenting as follows so short and sweet. Adam is a daft prick. Posted by: on November 23, 2004 09:54 AM

Today's Times also had a fine piece on airline passenger inconvenience and violation. Lots of professional businesswomen getting sick of having their breasts squeezed and groins and asses groped by slack-jawed, bossy TSA female workers 9 steps down on the food chain from them - for almost every flight they take. No where in the Times was in mentioned that this is all happening because of Political Correctness. Only that this increased intrusion is justified on 71-year old Lutheran grannies because Muslim Chechen women smuggled explosives on Russian planes - "and we want our planes to be safe, don't we???" Of course, the Times also loves to run articles about how the vast majority of The Religion of Peace abhor, just abhor terrorism, but are reluctant to speak out because they fear getting involved. But if PC ended, and TSA stopped patting down the asses of travelling Jewish businesswomen, MidWestern grannies, and 6-year boys to focus on Muslims.....if the line was split in two - those ethnicities NOT involved in terrorism allowed to proceed with minimal invasion to their privacy....those Islamoids in the other line subjected to anything including body cavity searches...maybe the adherents of the Religion of Peace would conclude there is a down side to tolerating the Jihadists and finally clean up their own ranks. I wish people would quit pointing out the idiocies of the lamestream media. The cocoon that Nagourney, Dana Milbank, and the legions of lefty asshats weave keeps the DemonRAT party in a fog, which helps to lead to their defeats. If the DemonRATs start figuring out what is really happening, there is a slight chance they would do something effective. God knows we don't need that. Posted by: on November 23, 2004 11:44 PM
I Rather doubt that will be a problem. And what do you think the chances of that are? It requires brutally honest self-reflection, respect for the constituents, and a rejection of leftism. NOT. GONNA. HAPPEN. Posted by: on November 24, 2004 10:00 AM

ANOTHER LEFT WING ASSASSIN ATTEMPTS TO KILL TRUMP
If I understand this, the left-wing Democrat assassin attempted to get into the White House Correspondents Association dinner, and was stopped at the magnetometers, which detected his gun. I guess he pulled out the gun and was shot by Secret Service agents. Erika Kirk was present.

NYT Melts Down Over Texas Rangers Statue Outside... Texas Rangers' Stadium

Important Message from Recent Convert to Christianity and Yet Super-Serious Christian Tuq'r Qarlson: Actually Muslims love Jesus, it's Trump and his neocons who hate him
Tucker Carlson Network Trump's trolling tweet was ill-advised, but Tucker is just lying when he claims the Christianity-hating President of Iran was "offended" by this. He's one step away from announcing his official conversion to Islam. He literally never stops praising Islam. Well, he suddenly became Christian two years ago, there's not much stopping him from converting again. You can track Tuq'r's official conversion to Islam with this Bingo card.
People say that the bearded man in the video of Fartwell molesting a hooker looks like Democrat Arizona Senator Rueben Gallego, said to be Swalwell's "best friend" and known to take vacations with him.
@KFILE 21m So the campaign is collapsing due to the truth of the sexual harassment allegations. That hissing sound you hear is the air going out of the Swalwell campaign. UPDATE: No it wasn't, it was just Swalwell one-cheek-sneaking out a fart on camera Eric Swalwell more like Eric Farewell amirite thanks to weft-cut loop.
This is the dumbest AI bullslop I've seen in a while: the CIA can use "quantum magnetometry" to track an individual man's heartbeat from twelve miles away
I wouldn't click on it, it's not interesting, it's just stupid clickslop. I just want to share my annoyance with you.
Oil prices plunge on bizarre realization that Eric Swalwell may actually be straight. A rapey molester, allegedly, but a straight one.
Classic Rock Mystery Click
This is super-obscure and I only barely remember it. Given that, I'll give you the hint that it's by the Red Rocker. And I guess you think you've got it made Oh, but then, you never were afraid Of anything that you've left behind Oh, but it's alright with me now 'Cause I'll get back up somehow And with a little luck, yes, I'm bound to win Now twenty people will tell me it's not obscure, it was huge in their hometown and played at their prom. That's how it usually goes. When I linked Donnie Iris's "Love is Like a Rock," everyone said they knew that one and that his other song (which I didn't know at all) Ah Leah! was huge in their area.
