Kerry Discovers Cursed Tiki Doll; Wipes Out on Surfboard, Finds Tarantula in Bed

This seemed so absurd to me I didn't even feel much like blogging it, but if a poll shows Bush up by a point in Hawaii, I guess it has to be noted for the record. (Don't bother with the link for specific numbers; they're not provided.)

From Son of Nixon, who also reports on a true Patriot who supports Bush.

Man, I loved it when they did those three-part things.

Hawaii going for Bush is not as absurd as it sounds. I live here. Filipinos, normally Democrats, seem to be breaking to Bush. They are very devout Catholics, and I suspect this "I have a plan to disagree with the bishops" isn't playing too well. Being a fake Catholic may work in Boston etc., but it doesn't play too well among the Filipinos.

Actually, there are two local polls showing Bush with a slim lead. Cheney is actually traveling there tomorrow - Gore, also, to stump for Kerry. It si definitely in play. Their Republican Governor is very popular. The last time they went Republican for President was for Reagan. The real kicker is that if it did come down to HA - they'd know it long before the polls closed due to the time difference.

The only thing that's left is that he'll get smacked in the nose with one of those footballs he loves to "throw" around.

I Can't Believe It's Not Bryan Adams Edition

Well I saw you on the avenue
And as usual you're with someone new
I guess there's nothing left for me to do but turn away
I'm growing tired of all your alibis
There ain't one you can justify
I ain't gonna take it anymore and I'll tell you why

You know, I wrote "I Can't Believe It's Not Bryan Adams" and then realized, "Wait, this is so blatantly a Bryan Adams-style song this might actually be a genuine Bryan Adams song, let me look this up." In fact, yes, it's co-written by Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance. And I guess I would have realized that if I just watched the video, in which Bryan Adams plays guitar and contributes backing vocals.
Jason Statham's Working Man beat Snow Woke at the box office this weekend. The Chosen, a movie made up of three episodes of a show available on TV, almost beat Snow Woke too, cashing in $11 million over the weekend.
I't's time to let go. Actor Val Kilmer dies at 65. Doc Holiday in Tombstone was his ultimate role, but I'll always love his comedic turns in Top Secret! and Real Genius. RIP. [Weirddave]
