« CBSNews Planned Election-Eve Hit Piece on Bush, But ABCNews Refuses to Air Videotape For Fear It Will Harm John Kerry | Main | I've Decided That Undecideds Don't Break for the Challenger »

Drudge Scoop: ABCNews Claims Will Run Terror-Endorsement at 6:30 EST

Just a headline on Drudge at the moment.

I rather doubt it, myself. I think ABCNews will run a portion of the tape, then make an oblique reference to possible "consequences" depending on the election. They will not allow the tape to speak for itself, nor will they report that Al Qaeda has formally demanded the election of Mr. Bad-Ass Terrorist Hunter himself, John Forbes Kerry.

This is a ratings stunt. It's also a modified limited hang-out-- they think if they air some parts of the tape that don't hurt John Kerry, then they can reduce the pressure to air all of it, and withstand charges of liberal bias.

Will this stand? I'm afraid it will. ABCNews is in the tank for Kerry and of course always has been. They can hold up for four or five days, and take whatever criticism is thrown at them.

The only hope is that someone with some balls at ABCNews copies the tape and sends it along to someone who will air it.

Like, for example, me.

I don't know how to air a videotape, but believe me, I'll learn quick.

all you would have to do is tell drudge you have it and want a link for it. But it would kill your server if you had it. heh. 2 minutes 5 gazillion hits and *fizzle* server explodes hehehe

It would be a glorious three seconds though, Jen.

Something is gonna hit the blogs soon, and then watch the MSM run to stay out in front of it. Either the tape itself, or a full (not edited by ABC) text. I can hear it on the horizon. Stand back 'cause this is gonna be good.

yes, i would try to post a comment before your site exploded.

Don't know if running the whole thing really helps or hurts Bush.

My greatest fear for Bush would be soccer moms, especially those with college degrees. They always seem to be the most "fearful" of everything. They also yap to each other - a lot.

With the race so close in the swing states, you might have just enough of them panic and vote for Kerry in the "hope" that the crazies would be appeased.

My political advisor (wife), who used to be an ABC News producer and Mondale campaign press aide, feels the same way. She simply cannot decide if release of the tape would help or hurt either candidate.

Again, I just don't know.

Ace, you get your Val-U-Rite Vodka soaked hands on this, and we'll make sure it gets out. Even if we have to stream it from a crappy 56ker.

Update on Scott Adams:
Scott Adams had approval for this cancer drug but they hadn't scheduled him to get it. He was taking a turn for the worse. Trump had told him to call if he needed anything, so he did. Talked to Don Jr (who is in Africa) , then RFK Jr, then Dr Oz. Someone talked to Kaiser and he was scheduled. Shouldn't have needed it but he did and he says it saved his life.

Schmoll: 53% of New Jersey likely voters say their neighbors are voting for Ciattarelli, while 47% say the cheater/grifter Mikie Sherrill
The "who do you think your neighbors are voting for" question is designed to avoid the Shy Tory problem, wherein conservative people lie to schmollsters because they don't want to go on record with a likely left-winger telling them who they're really voting for. So instead the question is who do you think your neighbors are voting for, so people can talk about who they themselves support without actually having to admit it to a left-wing rando stranger recording their answers on the phone.

Interesting football history: How the forward pass was created in response to the nineteen -- 19! -- people killed playing football in 1905 alone
The original rules of football did not allow forward passes. The ball was primarily advanced by running, with blockers forming lines with interlocked arms and just smashing into the similarly-interlocked defensive lines. It was basically Greek hoplite spear formations but with a semi-spherical ball. As calls to ban the sport entirely grew, some looked for ways to de-emphasize mass charges as the primary means of advancing the ball, and some specifically championed allowing a passer to throw the ball forward.

Atari to release former competitor Intellivision with 45 games for $149
I always thought Intellivision was kinda lame (to the extent a cutting edge videogame box can be lame).
Intellivision insists upon itself.
Pitfall was a really good game. I don't know if it was available on Intellivision. Update: It was. But I don't know if it's included in the new unit.
