« Kerry Coins a Brilliant New Word: "Misleadisments" | Main | CNN Headline, And I Quote: "Bush apparently leads Kerry in pre-debate poll" »
September 27, 2004

The Left Still Loves Its "Romantic" Totalitarian Killers

...but at least there's the occasional non-leftist liberal to tell them to grow the fuck up already.

Paul Berman bitchslaps Robert Redford for the disgusting haigiography to Che Guevera he produced.

And he wants to know when the Che-lovin' Hollywood community will get around to making a movie about one of Che's many victims.

So Stupid It Hurts My Teeth Update: Travelling Shoes highlights a just-plain-brilliant idea from the Daily Kos on how Kerry can win Pennsylvania:

The question is, will John Kerry speak out and call for the release of [convicted cop-killer Abu-Jamal] Mumia, or at the very least demand a new trial for him?

No, "Kos." The question is, have you been mixing medications, or are you just plain fucking retarded?

But let me answer your question, dearheart. Will John Kerry call for the release of a convicted cop-killer? How about: Will John Kerry even allow the words "Abu-Jamal Mumia" to pass his lips?

Um, no.

Good Lord All Mighty. This is what passes for reasonable thought among the biggest of the big left-wing bloggers.

For the love of all that's holy, you don't hear me calling for the release of, I don't know, Bucephalus "Stony" Herkemer, three-time race-murderer and leader of the White Power Militia gang.*

*Although, to be fair, Mr. Corrigan also claims to be a "political prisoner." He claims that ZOG (the Zionist Occupational Goverment) is frustrating his attempts to begin the RaHoWa (racial holy war) which will "cleanse" the country of "undesirables."

Now that I think about it-- when will President Bush call for the release of this poor man? I think doing so might really help him in Oregon.

Speaking of the left loving killers, check out this posting at Daily Kos.

"Will Kerry Speak Out For Mumia."

It validates everything Frum said about stupidity of the left-wing bloggers.

There are alot of potential blockbusters that will never see the light of day in Hollywood. I'd love to see "Witness" on the big screen but it will never happen. Imagine: David Hyde Pierce as Alger Hiss and Philip Seymour Hoffman playing Whitaker Chambers.

Ace,

Especially repellent, this.

Che was the architect of many of Cuba's most despicable institutions, such as summary executions, torture, and the like.

Che, in fact, was an early merchant of the death-cult. In his case it was the Socialist Revolution. In modern day form it is radical Islam.

The merging of the Left with radical Islam goes beyond ANSWER anti-war rallies replete with calls for the destruction of Israel, it has now moved solidly into the academy and apparently the entertainment industry.

And yes, it is time for truly brave filmmakers to bring to the screen the stories of those that suffered under the heel and fist of the Socialist Revolution.

Someone call James Woods.

Wow, this is the second review in two days in a liberal publication giving the smackdown to The Motorcycle Diaries. The other one was in the new issue of GQ, and it attacked the film on similar grounds. I don't know if it's available online, but I'll look around and see if I can find a link.

Oh hell yes Kerry needs to say he'll free Mumia. And he needs to do it now.

One of the few reasons Kerry has any votes in PA is Philadelphia. He says he'll free Mumia and he'll loose a good chunk of that city, and every cop and cop union in the state.

I'd love it.

To their credit, it appeared that 75% of the comments I read at Kos guffawed at the idea.

To their detriment, there was, in addition to the original poster (brotherforkerry or some such) profound mental retardation in the other 25%.

Kerry's not stupid enough to touch this even with a barge pole. And if he is, Carville will hide all the barge poles.

No, "Kos." The question is, have you been mixing medications, or are you just plain fucking retarded?

Not an "either/or" proposition, in Kos' case. :)

I went law school at Bereley and this asshole's thoughful mug was posted on every street lamp and telephone pole in town. No matter the protest, there's going to be some AMJ types demanding that the guiltiest man currently in prison be released.

If I was a Pennsylvania Republican operative, I would be putting out that the Left Wing blogger who was prominantly featured in the NYTimes Magazine has called for Kerry to free Mumia. In fact, I'd "help" the Kerry campaign by putting up posters in the state: "John Kerry! Please Help where Bush Won't. Free Mumia!"

At events, note Kerry has always opposed the death penalty for cop killers and was part of Dukakasis's prisoner furlough program.

Yep, I'd be putting out the word that the Kerry campaign has not decided yet on how they will respond to the Daily Kos's plea to free or Presidentially pardon Mumia, an act that top financier George Soros also supports. And note that Bush as everyone knows, would not entertain pardoning Mumia.

Tucker Carlson claims that it's weird that Ted Cruz is interested in the massacre of Christians by Nigerian Muslims, because he has "no track record of being interested in Christians," then blows off the massacre of Christians by Nigerian Muslims, saying it might or might not be a real concern
Tucker Carlson enjoys using the left-wing tactic of "Tactical Ignorance" to avoid taking positions on topics. Is Hamas really a terrorist organization? Tucker can't say. He hasn't looked into it enough, but "it seems like a political organization to me." Are Muslims slaughtering Christians in Nigeria? Again, Tucker just doesn't know. He hasn't examined the evidence yet. He knows every Palestinian Christian who said he was blocked from visiting holy sites in Bethlehem, but he just hasn't had the time to look into the mass slaughter of Christians in Nigeria that has been going on since (checks watch) 2009. He doesn't know, so he can't offer an opinion. Wouldn't be prudent, you know? Don't rush him! He'll sift through the evidence at some point in the future and render an opinion sometime around 2044.
Of course, if you need an opinion on Jewish Perfidy, he has all the facts at his fingertips and can give you a fully informed opinion pronto. Say, have you ever heard of the USS Liberty incident...?
You'd think that the main issue for Tucker Carlson, who pretends to be so deeply concerned about Palestinian Christians being bullied by Jews in Israel (supposedly), would be the massacre of 185,000 Christians in Nigeria itself. But no, his main problem is that Ted Cruz is talking about it, "who has no track record of being interested in Christians at all." And then he just shrugs as to whether this is even a real issue or not.
Whatever we do we must never "divide the right," huh?
Tucker is attacking Ted Cruz for bringing the issue up because he's acting as an apologist for Jihadism, and he can't cleanly admit that Jihadists are killing any Christians, anywhere. There is no daylight between him and CAIR at this point.
One might conclude that Tucker Carlson himself isn't interested in the plight of Christians -- except as they can be used as a cudgel to attack Jews.
Just gonna ask an Interesting Question myself -- why is it that Tucker Carlson's arguments all track with those shit out by Qatarian propaganda agents and the far left? That if Jews crush an ant underfoot it is worldwide news, but when Muslims slaughter Christians it elicits not even a vigorous shrug?
Garth Merenghi is interviewed by the only man who can fathom his ineffable brilliance -- Garth Merenghi
From the comments:
I once glimpsed Garth in the penumbra betwixt my wake and sleep. He was in my dream, standing afar, not looking my way, nor did he acknowledge me. But I felt seen. And that's when I knew I was a traveler on the right path. I'm glad he's still with us.

Now that's some Merenghian prose.
Garth Merenghi on the writer's craft

Greetings, Traveler. If you still have not experienced Garth Merenghi -- Author, Dream-weaver, Visionary, plus Actor -- the six episodes of his Darkplace are still available on YouTube and supposedly upscaled to HD. (Viewing it now, it doesn't appeared upscaled for shit.)
I think the second episode, "Hell Hath Fury," is the best by a good margin. Try to at least watch through to that one. It's Mereghi's incisive but nuanced take on sexism.

Schmoll: 53% of New Jersey likely voters say their neighbors are voting for Ciattarelli, while 47% say the cheater/grifter Mikie Sherrill
The "who do you think your neighbors are voting for" question is designed to avoid the Shy Tory problem, wherein conservative people lie to schmollsters because they don't want to go on record with a likely left-winger telling them who they're really voting for. So instead the question is who do you think your neighbors are voting for, so people can talk about who they themselves support without actually having to admit it to a left-wing rando stranger recording their answers on the phone.

Interesting football history: How the forward pass was created in response to the nineteen -- 19! -- people killed playing football in 1905 alone
The original rules of football did not allow forward passes. The ball was primarily advanced by running, with blockers forming lines with interlocked arms and just smashing into the similarly-interlocked defensive lines. It was basically Greek hoplite spear formations but with a semi-spherical ball. As calls to ban the sport entirely grew, some looked for ways to de-emphasize mass charges as the primary means of advancing the ball, and some specifically championed allowing a passer to throw the ball forward.
