Just a Word of Thanks

Thanks for everyone who's been coming to this site. It's a lot of fun to write silly shit for you.

You may have noticed I haven't been responding to email or posting in the comments very frequently. I'm sorry, but I've been sort of busy generally, and then of course there's been this ridiculous forgery scandal I've been trying to keep up with. I just had a huge amount of traffic for me, and it's been kind of tough to keep up with everything.

Anyway, I just want everyone I know I appreciate your coming, even if I'm lately sort of a dick about keeping up correspondence.

'sokay, Ace. You still slice like a fucking hammer.

You' ve been "dick about keeping up correspondence" for awhile now, actually.

:-)

I don't know Ace, the last couple of times I emailed you you've responded right away.

Maybe that's just because you like me better than Bill.

Maybe that's just because you like me better than Bill.

In a totally platonic, non-gay way I mean.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Ace, I'm with dougf and Paul.

We appreciate your work brother. Keep swinging.

Ace, if you were wondering what that smoldering smell is, and where those clouds of thick black smoke are coming from, I really thought I should let you know that Senator Zell Miller is still on f----in fire:

A day late, sure, but the guy still slices...

Ace, you're doin' fine, considering the circumstances. If it reinforces the point at all, I've only just come to the realization that there's only one blog I read every single day without fail - and I've gotten so used to it, I don't know what I'd do with myself if I didn't have it.

But when I'm finished with Best of the Web, I come here for a few laughs.

:-) j/k

Hell, I'm just happy to be here....

Posted by: Todd Baker on September 14, 2004 03:11 AM

And thank you for making the site.

Posted by: Eric Pobirs on September 14, 2004 04:37 AM

Thank YOU.

I don't know if people realize just how time-consuming and challenging it is to keep up a good blog, much less come up with original stuff. Anyone can regurgitate other people's posts all day and call themselves a blogger, but you've been keeping us rolling in the isles since the beginning, Ace, with things nobody -- nobody -- would think of (come on, a Paul Anka haiku contest?? A Dungeons & Dragons guide to the Democratic primaries??).

I can feel a book deal coming...

Posted by: Longshanks on September 14, 2004 10:45 AM

ace,

only real dicks fish for compliments on their own blog.

ha

Seriously, though, you do a great job. Sarcastic, sharp, and not in the least intimidated. Funny how great I a. . . I mean, YOU are. No, really, you do great, and all of us have responsibilities outside of the web.

Thanks for doing your part. And mine. And a few other people's, too.

No apologies needed.

Important Message from Recent Convert to Christianity and Yet Super-Serious Christian Tuq'r Qarlson: Actually Muslims love Jesus, it's Trump and his neocons who hate him
Tucker Carlson Network
@TCNetwork

The people in charge [Jews, of course -- ace] don't want you to know this, but Muslims love Jesus.

Islam reveres Him as a major prophet and messenger of the Lord, believes He performed miracles, and states that He will return to Earth to defeat the Antichrist. That's why Donald Trump's painting depicting himself as the Son of God offended the president of Iran. It was an attack on his religion as well as Christianity.

Trump's trolling tweet was ill-advised, but Tucker is just lying when he claims the Christianity-hating President of Iran was "offended" by this.
He's one step away from announcing his official conversion to Islam. He literally never stops praising Islam. Well, he suddenly became Christian two years ago, there's not much stopping him from converting again.
You can track Tuq'r's official conversion to Islam with this Bingo card.

@KFILE 21m

Politico is reporting that multiple people have abruptly resigned from Eric Swalwell's gubernatorial campaign: "Members of senior leadership have departed the campaign, including Courtni Pugh, a strategic adviser who served as Swalwell's top liaison to organized labor groups."

So the campaign is collapsing due to the truth of the sexual harassment allegations.
That hissing sound you hear is the air going out of the Swalwell campaign. UPDATE: No it wasn't, it was just Swalwell one-cheek-sneaking out a fart on camera

Classic Rock Mystery Click
This is super-obscure and I only barely remember it. Given that, I'll give you the hint that it's by the Red Rocker.

Oh, but then, you never were afraid
Of anything that you've left behind
Oh, but it's alright with me now
'Cause I'll get back up somehow

Now twenty people will tell me it's not obscure, it was huge in their hometown and played at their prom. That's how it usually goes. When I linked Donnie Iris's "Love is Like a Rock," everyone said they knew that one and that his other song (which I didn't know at all) Ah Leah! was huge in their area.
