I believe Steven den Beste is a thinker on par with Ben Franklin; he is certainly one of America's great modern thinkers.

He will be missed. A year from now, he will still be missed.

Yeahp. It's not just that he was very good at what he did; it's also that he was the only guy at all doing what he did.

He was the only one who does what he does. I've missed new essays for weeks now. He thinks and writes about things in ways that no-one else can.

Proof that you don't appreciate (to the fullest) what you've got until you don't got it anymore.

It seems Michele has gone and set up shop elsewhere. I wouldn't be surprised if den Beste did the same, maybe even anonymously. Just speculating.

I sure hope it's temporary.

And thanks to the link at the end we are now informed, in his own words, that some person called Billy Beck is really a jackass. He is on the right side of some issues but he's the kind of obnoxious person you'd find embarassing to have as representing your cause.

Hopefully he'll come back. Perhaps if he just removed his email from the site, and then only people who were truly dedicated about getting an email through to him could bother him with impertinent suggestions.
