« Malyasia's PM: Muslims Fear Christians are at War With Islam | Main | Shock: 80% of Journalists at Dem Convo Admit to Favoring Kerry »
August 04, 2004

Four More Years of Hell-ohhh

This creature becomes more infuriating by the moment:

And later, discussing the war in Iraq (news - web sites), Heinz Kerry subtly questioned Republican President Bush (news - web sites)'s intellect, saying: "It's vital for anyone with intelligence to acknowledge mistakes and change positions -- hello."

Yes, that would seem to be the extraodinarily-annoying late-nineties use of the world "hell-ohhhhh!" to mean "Note the irony and/or obvious goofiness here."

Only an idle-rich billionaire heiress could be so insulated from criticism that she wouldn't have heard that "hell-ohhhhh!" became egregiously annoying six minutes after it was first said.

In related news, Terezzzzza Heinz Kerry has just announced that her pet issues as first lady will be discouraging drug use among teens and encouraging young women to attend college. Her anti-drug slogan will be "Drugs: Don't Go There" and her pro-female-college-attendance slogan will be "Higher Education: You go, girl."

She's also considering a campaign to encourage the use of "Anger Management Puppets" to help people better express their feelings in a useful and non-violent manner. She will, yes, be advising all of America to "Talk to the Hand."

A very annoyed hat-tip to Just One Minute.

I swear, if any of you guys aren't registered for this election, and if you don't already know where your nearest polling-place is, you are silent collaborators in this vile woman's evolution into an American Evita. Hell-ohhhh!

Register. Now.

"Register now"? I live in New York. Kerry's got this state by ten points whether I spend Election Day voting, jerking off, or doing some combination thereof.

Posted by: Allah on August 4, 2004 03:13 PM

If I'm registered, you can too. I'm in the same dopey liberal state you are.

Everybody has those kind of excuses.

We need Allah, Who is Wise But Occasionally Lazy About Voting, to set a good example.

Posted by: ace on August 4, 2004 03:15 PM

You can follow Michael Moore's example and register to vote in a swing state.

You know Ace, I used to wonder how any right-winger could blog as frothing-at-the-mouth enraged as I get on a daily basis with anyone unfortunate to be near me (siblings, friends, SO's, the cat ... whoever) when I happen to read about some fresh idiocy being perpetrated by the Left in general and Leftists in my hometown in particular.

Now I know. Another New Yorker in the same boat as me!

Well...I suppose with you, me, and Allah, Bush can count on 3 votes from here.

More seriously, am I the only New Yorker who is utterly disgusted by this town's largely anti-Bush, anti-war attitude ... because this city ought to know better than just about any other place on earth just what the stakes are?

Meh. I'll return to my cave.

Posted by: Il Padrino on August 4, 2004 03:33 PM

Did she do that "psssshhhht" thing while swirling her hand from the wrist?

Posted by: Smack on August 4, 2004 03:46 PM

Well, if you think about it...if all the Bush supporters in all the liberal states go ahead and vote, we won't have Kerry claiming to have won the meaningless national popular vote when Bush takes the electoral college.

So vote anyway, even if you think it's pointless in your liberal state. If this had happened in 2000, Gore's people wouldn't be able to go around claiming he was the "real winner".

Posted by: Rudejelly on August 4, 2004 03:50 PM

I'm in the same car bomb as Allah, living in the state that actually elected Hillary Clinton, a non-New Yorker, for Senator. Anyway, come election night I'll probably [98%] be voting for Bush, unless I'm piss-drunk and pull the lever for Libertarian crackpot Badnarik. To fight radical Islam, sometimes you just have to pit their craziest against yours:

"The day I enter the Oval Office, I will give notice to the United Nations. Member nations would have one week to evacuate their offices in the UN building in New York. They would have seven days to box up their computers, their paper work, and family photos. At noon on the eighth day, after ensuring that the building was empty, I would personally detonate the explosive charges that would reduce the building to rubble. The same type of rubble we had to clean up after September 11th."

~ Michael Badnarik

Rudejelly - you beat me to the point!

I live in NYC, and even though I know the electoral votes of my state will probably go to John Freakshow Kerry, I'm going to do everything I can to help increase the national popular vote for Bush.

Posted by: Longshanks on August 4, 2004 04:07 PM

Does anyone doubt that THK's "What's that?" reaction upon seeing chili for the first time would not have made the front page of NYT if the statement had been uttered by Nancy Reagan?

Posted by: rdbrewer on August 4, 2004 04:08 PM

It's vital for anyone with intelligence to acknowledge mistakes.

Rather than for anyone with intelligence to insist, "I didn't say that. I didn't say that."

Especially when it happened a few minutes before and was caught on film.

Oops for got to say...

"Hello?"

Not Evita-- Isabella. When Peron returned to Argentina in the 1970s and got himself elected president, he put his second wife, a ditz actress, on the ticket as VP. An old man, he died in office she actually succeeded him, for a while anyway. President Isabella Peron was eventually replaced the old fashioned Argentine way-- by an Army coup.

Terror Alert level raised to orange? What-EVER.

Posted by: Longshanks on August 4, 2004 04:40 PM

I agree, we right-thinking New Yorkers should still vote for Bush, if just for the popular tally.
Also, explain the electoral system to any idiotarians you know and suggest they vote for Nader, since New York is a lock and they should at least make a statement.

Posted by: UpNights on August 5, 2004 01:20 AM

My husband and I both registered and are voting (likely a lost cause) here in Connecticut.

I just keep reminding myself that even a liberal state like Connecticut has gone to Republicans more than once.

We had enough sense to vote for Reagan after all...and if memory serves, so did NY.

He won 48 states in 1984 right? What were the two he lost? I think Maryland was one of them....

Anyhoo. I don't think this is going to be such a closely contested election. The media is making the left seem larger and more potent than they really are.

The 2000 election was close because Gore was much more of a known quantity than Bush, we were content with the economy while Clinton in the White House, and it was a relatively quiet time in our history. Terrorism was not a top of mind issue.

Bush 04. Comfortably.

Funniest thing I've read about the Virginia mess. Back when they were hustling the referendum through the assembly both Senators, Warner and Kaine, advised them to go slow and play by the rules. Louise Lucas said she respected them but didn't need advice from the "cuck chair" in the corner. The gerrymandering was overturned and Louise is heading for the big house. Edward G. -- reportedly a genuine comment offered by a "senior Labour source"
Correction: I wrote that Labour is losing 88% (now 87%) of the seats it is "defending." I think that's wrong. The right way to say it is the seats they are contesting -- that is, they don't necessarily already hold these seats, but they have put up a candidate to run for the seat. It's still very bad but not as bad as losing 87% of the seats they already held.

🚨ED MILIBAND [a Minister in Starmer's government] SAYS KEIR STARMER WILL RESIGN AS PRIME MINISTER

He has reportedly reassured Labour MP's that Starmer will be resigning following the disastrous results tonight

It's over
"The end of the two party system in the UK" as first the Fake Conservatives and now Labour chooses political suicide rather than simply STOPPING THE INVASION
Incidentally, the only reason this didn't already happen in the US is because of the Very Bad Orange Man (who is right on 85% of all policy calls and extremely, existentially right on 15% of them)
No political party that is NOT also a doomsday religious cult would EVER choose a cataclysmic loss -- and possible extinction as a party -- to support a toxically unpopular favoritism of NON-CITIZEN ILLEGAL MIGRANTS over actual citizen voters.

Only a cult does this.
Now they've lost 84%.
Annunziata Rees-Mogg
@zatzi
If this continues Labour loses 2,148 seats tonight.

That is much worse than the worst case predictions I’ve seen.

Cataclysmic

Update: They've now lost 88% of the seats they're defending. As I mentioned earlier, I think I heard that London will not bail them out, as many of those Labour seats will probably flip to "Muslim Independent" or Green. Detroit's 5am vote will not save them.
Yup, Labour is losing 80% of its seats...
The British Patriot
@TheBritLad

🚨 BREAKING: Labour have lost 80% of all seats contested as of 2:25 AM.<
br> If this continues, Keir Starmer will be out of office next week.

Reform has surged and projected to pick up between 1700-2100 seats.

Wow, up to 1700-2100 seats. It's not incredible that this is happening. It's incredible that the Davos crowd is so absolutely determined to privilege Muslim "migrants" over the actual native population who elects them, no matter how loudly the natives scream that they want to be prioritized, that they will gladly self-extinguish as a party rather than simply representing the interests of their own voters. Astonishing.
Remember, when they call other people "cultists" -- they are the ones so imprisoned in their social reinforcement and discipline bubbles that they will choose political death rather than dare upset the Karen Enforcement Officers of their cult.
Update: Now they've lost 83% of the seats they were defending.
(((Dan Hodges)))
@DPJHodges

Reform are basically wiping Labour out in the North. It's not a defeat. It's not even a rout. Labour are simply ceasing to exist.

Nick Lowles
@lowles_nick

Tonight’s results are calamitous for Labour. Not just for Keir Starmer's leadership, but for the very future of the party
STARMERGEDDON: In early returns, Reform gains 135 seats, Labour loses 90, the Fake Conservatives lose 36 (and I didn't even know they could fall any further), the Lib Dems lose 4, and the Greens gain 6. Note that the only other party gaining seats is the Greens and they're only gaining a handful of seats.
Update: Reform now up 145, Labour down 98.
Labour projected to lose Wales -- where they've ruled for 27 years.
Fulton County Georgia just discovered 400 boxes of ballots for Labour
Update: REF +156, LAB -107, CON -45
Brutal: In four out of five council seats where Labour is defending, they've lost. 80%.
I'm sure it's not this simple, but Reform is straight taking Labour's and the "Conservatives'" seats. They've lost almost exactly what Reform gained. If understand this right (and warning, I probably don't), all of London's council seats are up for election, and Labour might lose hugely there, as their old voters abandon them for Reform, Muslim Indenpendents, and the Greens.
REF +190, LAB -134, CON -56.
Updates on the Labour collapse in council elections -- which wags are calling #Starmergeddon -- from Beege Welborne. There are about 5000 seats up for grabs, Labour is expected to lose 1,800, Reform will probably gain 1,580, up from... zero. So this would be more than that.
People claim that while Labour has adopted the Sharia Agenda to appeal to the million Muslims it allowed to migrate to the country, those voters are ditching Labour to vote for the Muslim Independent Party or the Greens. Delicious. This shadenfreude is going straight to my thighs.
Oh, and if Starmer loses about as badly as expected, Labour will toss him out of a window Braveheart style and replace him. He will announce he is resigning to spend more time with his Gay Ukrainian Male Prostitutes.
Media bias and senationalism are as old as, well, the media:

That was written by Denny O'Neill and illustrated by, get this, Frank Miller. Editor to the Stars Jim Shooter was in charge at the time.
I always thought the gag was original to the comic book, but in fact the "Threat or Menace" headline was a satirical joke about media bias and sensationalism for a long while. The Harvard Lampoon used it in a parody of Life magazine: "Flying Saucers: Threat or Menace?"
